I’m in love with the name [name_u]August[/name_u] for a boy! The nickname [name_m]Augie[/name_m] and it’s awesome meaning only make me love it more. However, he is convinced it sounds like a “girls” name. He and I both want a masculine name but I just love [name_u]August[/name_u].
I don’t think it sounds like a girl names at all! Maybe it reminds him of [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]? Would you be willing to budge on the nickname? Auggie is cute, but maybe [name_u]Gus[/name_u] would feel more masculine to him.
I love the name [name_u]August[/name_u], for boy or girl. It doesn’t sound feminine to me though. Nicknames I would use:
[name_m]Austin[/name_m]
Guster
[name_m]Ian[/name_m]- derives from [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], as does [name_m]Austin[/name_m]
Here are some names you may like if you like [name_u]August[/name_u]:
[name_m]Tobin[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_u]Theo[/name_u]
[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] nn nixon
[name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] nn gio, van, ian
[name_m]Mitchell[/name_m]
[name_m]Prescott[/name_m] nn scott, preston
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] nn [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_u]Kye[/name_u]

[name_u]August[/name_u] is boy, through-and-through, but perhaps your husband assimilates month names with being decidedly for girls?
I’m behind your name crush, and its potential nickname, but maybe a variation so you still get to use [name_m]Augie[/name_m] and he still gets to feel the masculinity is there…
