I vote [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. Then you can let life and her personality determine her nn if she has one at all. ([name_m]Just[/name_m] re-read that, I meant if she has a nickname at all, not a life and personality haha) As far as NN’s go, I like both but leaning towards [name_f]Delia[/name_f] bc it is softer than [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. That’s what I love about [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], it offers two distinctly different nn’s that conjure distinctly different images of personality types. In that sense it’s a very pro-active name for the child itself. I think it’s nice to let your kid have a little control over their name
[name_f]My[/name_f] opinion on this is heavily biased, because this is exactly what I did with my almost-four-week-old daughter. She is [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], but we use it interchangeably with the nickname [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. We loved both, and I appreciate that if she’s not crazy about either one she can be [name_f]Delia[/name_f] or [name_f]Cordie[/name_f] or [name_u]Cory[/name_u] or [name_f]Deedee[/name_f] or any number of other things when she gets older.
I voted for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] for its versatility. Choosing the full name comes with the the option of using [name_f]Cora[/name_f] or [name_f]Delia[/name_f] as nicknames.
Two-in-one, baby! [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is on my list, and I know she’s going to get more popular!
I voted for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] as well, with nn [name_f]Delia[/name_f]. I just love [name_f]Delia[/name_f] (I have [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] on my list). I don’t really like the sound of [name_f]Cora[/name_f], it sounds a bit too dated to me still.
I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] too, but I would choose the “sweet simplicity and understated elegance” of [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. A berry once described [name_f]Cora[/name_f] as intelligent, empathetic, unassuming (among other things), and I couldn’t agree more.
Not sure why, but [name_f]Cora[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] has never felt right to me. I prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] or alone.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] (in full) or [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Delia[/name_f]. I like that [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] has loads of nn options as pps have already mentioned, and it’s not [name_f]Cora[/name_f], which happens to be my least favourite name.
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] sounds like a misspelling of [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] haha
I think that [name_f]Delia[/name_f] is very elegant, and I know a really awesome [name_f]Delia[/name_f] (Not a [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]). I would use [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and let her decide what she likes, if she wants a nickname, since you like them both. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is pretty and I want to love it but it sounds a bit harsh to me, not that it’s a bad name.
I prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f] as a first name and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] as a middle name. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are on my list, so it’s hard for me to choose between them. I like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] paired with underrated first names i.e. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], etc
I love both [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] equally…
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is one that I’ve been liking for a while now. I like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] too but with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] you have more options. You can call her [name_f]Cora[/name_f] or [name_f]Delia[/name_f] or just [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. It’s a lovely classic name and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is a more modern, snappy nickname.
