[name_u]Kit[/name_u]! I agree, such a fresh name.
I adore [name_f]Coralie[/name_f].
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f] does go better with the sisters’ three-syllable, super-feminine full names. [name_f]Do[/name_f] your older girls go by nicknames at all? While [name_u]Kit[/name_u] might seem out of place with [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], she seems right at home with [name_f]Anni[/name_f] and [name_u]Jules[/name_u], for example. If you want to give your third daughter a longer full name and use [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as a nickname, [name_u]Kit[/name_u] could easily work for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and the many international variations (particularly [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] and [name_f]Catriona[/name_f]), any feminization of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], [name_f]Kirsten[/name_f], or [name_f]Karoline[/name_f]/[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. On that note, I think you could even name her [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and call her [name_u]Kit[/name_u] without too many people raising their eyebrows.
Good luck, and congratulations!
Thanks so much for your thoughtful reply!!
The other girls really don’t go by nicknames - yet. They are both still young (4 and 2) so this may change when they go to school but typically I call them by their full names.
I had the same thought as you this morning, [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is not TOO far off from [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] that I couldn’t use it as a nickname:)
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is actually my middle name (and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]'s) and has been vetoed by husband as full first name. I don’t have the same fondness for any of the longer versions that I do for [name_u]Kit[/name_u]. I think I also identify with it as my first name is [name_f]Jill[/name_f] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Jill[/name_f] and not short for [name_f]Jillian[/name_f]!
I like [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] much better, but [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is a perfectly fine nickname for [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] I think.
I prefer [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and honestly, [name_u]Kit[/name_u] could be a wonderful nickname for [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], I mean, why not?
I’m a big fan of [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], obviously!
I think [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] sounds much better with your girls, and is easier to pronounce in [name_m]French[/name_m] than [name_u]Kit[/name_u]. If I met [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_u]Kit[/name_u], I would probably assume [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is a boy, or at the very least, a nickname for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] etc.
I much prefer [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
I voted for [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]. [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is too boyish, especially with sisters [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f].
1000x [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]! I love this name, and I love it with [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] (two of my favourite names).
We totally have the same taste!!
I love [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], but husband doesn’t
I personally prefer [name_u]Kit[/name_u], but compared with [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] it does seem like the odd one out. I think using [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as a nickname for a long flowy first name would be great though! I agree with everyone who said [name_u]Kit[/name_u] even works as a nickname for [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]!
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] is adorable, but 100% nickname in my book. [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] is a perfect fit!
I’m sorry but I really dislike [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], and think it’s nowhere near as gorgeous as your other girls’ names.
I love [name_u]Kit[/name_u], and voted for it, however with your other girls it really needs to be a short form for something else. eg [name_f]Katrina[/name_f], [name_f]Katia[/name_f], [name_f]Katrin[/name_f]/[name_f]Catrin[/name_f], [name_f]Keturah[/name_f], [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f], [name_f]Kiara[/name_f]/[name_f]Chiara[/name_f], [name_f]Claudia[/name_f], [name_f]Claudine[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Clemency[/name_f], [name_f]Colette[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Christina[/name_f], [name_f]Catalina[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and it fits perfectly with your girls’ names.
A few other names that are similar:
Aurélie
Magalie
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Kit[/name_u], but next to sisters names it just doesn’t quite make sense in my mind unless as a nickname.
That said, not everyone worries about sibsets as we do here. you should use what makes you happy!
I agree completely with you there! I know many people with mismatched sib sets- including none family with sisters [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f]!
I’d like to suggest [name_f]Claire[/name_f].
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], Julliette and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
It is a little more substantial as a full name, though just one syllable. I think it has the same freshness as [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and style-wise goes perfectly with her sisters’ names.
