I really like it and would probably use it in the middle.
It’s not one of my very favorites, but I think it would be lovely and refreshing in the mn spot. I’d pronounce it [name]Cora[/name]-line.
I have always pronounced it [name]Cora[/name]-line. I have it on my list!
I don’t pronounce it initially with the [name]Cora[/name] beginning, I say [name]Coral[/name]-ine, but I’m trying to change as I dislike [name]Coral[/name] as a potential nickname. I like it a lot more than [name]Caroline[/name] and think it’s really spunky with an innocence to it.
Pretty name, I pronounce it [name]Cora[/name]-lyn, but I pronounce just about every -ine ending name like that, except [name]Adeline[/name] (I pronounce is [name]Ada[/name]-leen).
Well, the movie adaptation of the [name]Neil[/name] Gaiman book pronounces it [name]Cora[/name]-line, so that’s how I say it. Incidentally, I love both the book and movie and the symbolism of the main character’s name.
I pronounce it [name]Cora[/name]-line, and it’s my daughter’s middle name. Sweet and spunky, just like she is!
I really like it, but for some reason I can’t help but feel people would roll their eyes if I used it because of the movie [name]Coraline[/name]. Also, I would hate for it to be misread as [name]Caroline[/name] all the time
I’d pronounce it [name]Cora[/name]-line. [name]Cora[/name]-lyn sounds too much like [name]Coral[/name] Inn to me.
Not one of my favorites but think it could be quite perfect for the right person.
Agreed. This is one of the reasons I used it as a middle. I like it enough to use it as a first name, but knew I never would due to the inevitable confusion. Heck, it’s a recurring gag in the book for a reason.
I really like it as well, and I pronounce it with line at the end. I would like to use it, but I don’t like the [name]Caroline[/name] confusion. (I love the name [name]Caroline[/name], but my husband has nixed it.)
I agree with the others that I pronounce it [name]Cora[/name]-line mainly because of the movie, and also that the closeness to [name]Caroline[/name] is what make me not love it more.
I prefer [name]Coralie[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name] is okay.
Admittedly, I like [name]Caroline[/name] more though, but you have the literary character to help with the pronunciation of the name.
I say it [name]Cora[/name]-line as it is called in the book and movie.
It’s just okay to me. It makes me think of that Pixar movie that came out a few years ago.
I pronounce it [name]Cora[/name]-line
