Cora's little Sister, part II

Hey everyone, in my earlier post I was looking for names for my daughter due in [name]October[/name]. Big sister is [name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name]. I have narrowed it down to this list, but I have not ran most of these by my partner yet so this list will definitely change. New suggestions are also welcome.

[name]Rose[/name] (will most likely be called [name]Rosie[/name])

[name]Lola[/name] (he likes this one a lot)

[name]Nova[/name] (My partner’s reaction to this one… “Like a [name]Chevy[/name] [name]Nova[/name]? Eh… it’s alright I guess.” =(

[name]Callisto[/name] (I’m just really drawn to this name for some reason.)

[name]Ruby[/name] (love, but it’s really popular.)

[name]Imogen[/name] (I really dislike the nickname [name]Immy[/name], feels a little too long.)

[name]Blythe[/name] (I think I like this one more in theory… every time I say it out loud it doesn’t come out right.)

[name]Lotus[/name] (I thought I could use this and then nickname [name]Lola[/name], but I’m worried about the car connection.)

[name]Florence[/name] (still debating using this as a first name, there’s no obvious nicknames so it feels long to me.)

[name]Maeve[/name] (I go back and forth on this one, one day I like it the next I hate it)

So, what are your thoughts? I still feel like I’m not making any progress…

If you’re connected to the name [name]Florence[/name], [name]Flo[/name] is always an optional nickname.

I really like [name]Blythe[/name], [name]Nova[/name] and [name]Lola[/name]!

Suggestions:

[name]Callista[/name]
[name]Maeva[/name]
[name]Lila[/name]/[name]Lilah[/name]

nn’s for [name]Florence[/name]:

[name]Wren[/name]/[name]Rena[/name]
[name]Florrie[/name]/[name]Lori[/name]

~[name]Jasmine[/name]

I like [name]Rose[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Blythe[/name], [name]Florence[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name]. The others don’t seem to fit with [name]Cora[/name] at all.

Hmm. Not really loving most of them but I think [name]Lola[/name] goes beautifully with [name]Cora[/name]. It would get my vote–with a really sensible middle name like [name]Frances[/name] (I have a daughter named [name]Harriet[/name] Franceszka that I call [name]Harriet[/name] [name]Frances[/name]–love).

Like:
[name]Lola[/name] [name]Maude[/name]
[name]Lola[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Lola[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Lola[/name] [name]Florence[/name].

I even really like [name]Lola[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]. The feminine with the more dependable.

Good luck.

Personally, I’m not a fan of the nn [name]Flo[/name] for [name]Florence[/name] - I prefer [name]Florrie[/name]. Though I do think [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Florence[/name] are a bit matchy-matchy since they start with similar sounds (cor/flor).

My favorites from your list are [name]Imogen[/name] (not a fan of [name]Immy[/name] as a nn either) and [name]Blythe[/name].

Other suggestions:
[name]Esme[/name]
[name]Estelle[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Jemima[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name]/[name]Vivienne[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] you find something you like!

I love [name]Lola[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name]! Especially with [name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name]. While I’m not a fan of [name]Florence[/name] personally, I think it has a ton of great nns–[name]Fleur[/name]/[name]Flor[/name], [name]Flora[/name], [name]Wren[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Lora[/name]/[name]Laura[/name], etc. Although [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Flora[/name] are probably too close, [name]Flora[/name] is definitely my favorite nn for it.

I think [name]Lola[/name] would be just adorable with [name]Cora[/name], although a fuller name seems to fit [name]Cora[/name]'s style, for some reason. I think it’s because they wouldn’t be so matchy, since they are both four-letter words that end in “A” and have a fairly strong “O” sound. Maybe something like [name]Charlotte[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name], nn [name]Lola[/name]? [name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Elodie[/name], [name]Willow[/name], [name]Chloe[/name], etc. could all be other options. I think [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Elodie[/name], nn [name]Lola[/name], would be adorable!

I dislike the nickname [name]Flo[/name] as well. I guess all the nickname options for [name]Florence[/name] seem too far fetched to me. I like more obvious nicknames. I do like the suggestion of [name]Lola[/name] [name]Florence[/name]!

I think [name]Lola[/name] [name]Florence[/name] is the absolute perfect combo with [name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name]. Wonderful suggestion!

i [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name]! My favorite name on your list is [name]Lola[/name], I think [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Lola[/name] is fantastic. I also like [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name] a lot. [name]Florence[/name] is actually really cool too, [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Florence[/name] is a cute, spunky sib set.

I do love it! Does that mean I would have to use another F middle for the next child?

[name]Rose[/name] - Sweet classic sibset. I think [name]Rose[/name] is an underused, pretty classic that is worthy of the first name spot.

[name]Lola[/name] - Seems a bit too nicknamey for me. I never liked the name either.

[name]Nova[/name] - A bit too sci-fi for my taste, though in theory, it is pretty. I would pair this with a classic, feminine name to balance it.

[name]Callisto[/name] - I much prefer [name]Callista[/name]; [name]Callisto[/name] makes the name more masculine to me. My only issue is that [name]Callista[/name] makes [name]Cora[/name] seem a little bland, imo.

[name]Ruby[/name] - I never really understood the appeal of this name since I never really liked it in the first place.

[name]Imogen[/name] - I personally don’t like it, even when it’s pronounced properly.

[name]Blythe[/name] - I prefer [name]Bliss[/name]. I think it looks much more feminine than [name]Blythe[/name].

[name]Lotus[/name] - Pretty! Unusual, and exotic. I don’t think it goes well with [name]Cora[/name] though.

[name]Florence[/name] - Pretty…but has a very different feel than [name]Cora[/name].

[name]Maeve[/name] - I think that [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name] is adorable!

Have you considered [name]Cassia[/name]? I think it depends on the way you pronounce it (casha or cassie-ah), but I think either would be pretty next to [name]Cora[/name], however, one pronunciation might be a bit too matchy for your taste.

Our [name]Florence[/name] is called [name]Flossie[/name] by her big brothers. I call her [name]Florrie[/name] which seems a more obvious nickname. Go with [name]Florence[/name], it is a great name!

[name]Rose[/name]- Like, but love better as a middle name.
[name]Lola[/name]- A [name]Favorite[/name] and guilty pleasure of mine.
[name]Nova[/name]- I don’t like this at all with [name]Cora[/name].
[name]Callisto[/name]- Sorry, not a huge fan. Could go for nickname [name]Callie[/name], though.
[name]Ruby[/name]- I love this. [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] sound excellent together.
[name]Imogen[/name]- Not liking it.
[name]Blythe[/name]- like the [name]Little[/name] [name]Pet[/name] SHop toy doll my daughter and her cousins are so obsessed with? Not liking it.
[name]Lotus[/name]- This is cool, but [name]Cora[/name] and lotus doesn’t sound good to me.
[name]Florence[/name]- Not a big [name]Fan[/name].
[name]Maeve[/name]- A [name]FAVORITE[/name].

I suggest the name [name]Hattie[/name] Lauree to you.
