CordeIia or Nеrissа?

I love the sound of both names and their meanings, sea sprite/nymph ([name_f]Nerissa[/name_f]) and heart of the sea ([name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]).
What name do you like more? Why?
Any IRL experience with these names?

Nerissa is delightful, too, but I have a soft spot for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. I adore [name_f]Neried[/name_f] (straight up the noun that [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f] refers to), and I find it’s sound a little more pleasing.

Love both but the meaning and literary vibe of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] won me over

I love that they’re both Shakespearean names but I definitely prefer [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. I love that there are so many nickname options but especially love [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_u]Coco[/name_u], [name_u]Cory[/name_u], [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_f]Delia[/name_f]… and many more I’m sure.

It also has the [name_u]Anne[/name_u] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables connection which is lovely too.

I like the meaning of [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f], but the name reminds me of [name_f]Marisa[/name_f] which I personally do not like.

Cordelia! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the Shakespearean connections more than [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f]’s and plenty of gorgeous nicknames…

Cordy, [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Delia[/name_f], [name_u]Coco[/name_u] etc

Nerissa makes me think of the [name_m]Loch[/name_m] Ness Monster.

Nerissa is intriguing but pretty. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is classic and cute. I went for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] in the end - I just like it that bit more

I just love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] it’s elegant Shakespearean choice I love the meaning ‘daughter of the sea’ it’s beautiful and I like the [name_f]Cordy[/name_f] nickname.

I like them both, I’d also like to mention that I love names ending in ‘rissa’ such as [name_f]Marissa[/name_f], [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f], [name_f]Larissa[/name_f] but still I chose [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f] is a difficult name in terms of nicknames, also the ‘rissa’ ending has more of an old fashioned vibe when compared to the classic [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] with its very modern and even slightly trending ‘delia’ ending.

Both are wonderful, but I’m finding myself really drawn to [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f]!
