Hello! I have a friend who’s granddaughter was named [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], though she hates it. She says that her name was supposed to be [name_f]Olive[/name_f], but the baby’s father didn’t want her to be ‘named after a food’. What do you all think? [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Olive[/name_f]?
AND, I also have not found any names that I am liking lately! I really would love some suggestions. I like:
[name_u]Ari[/name_u]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_f]Lumi[/name_f]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
[name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]
(I adore 3 letter names!!)
Thank you for suggestions on some names (open to all suggestions!) and your feedback on [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]!
I would prefer [name_f]Olive[/name_f] over [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], I think it is a very lovely name! Below, I have some three-lettered names you might like:
Avi
Bea (can be pronounced bee or bee-a)
Eva
Eve
Isa
Jay (ie. [name_u]Jai[/name_u])
Kai
Kia
Lee
Lev
Liv
May (i.e. [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Mai[/name_f])
Both names are about equal for me. They’re names I like but would never use. I think I would prefer [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] if forced to pick since [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is so similar to the overused [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] but then again, I like [name_f]Liv[/name_f] more than the nicknames I could use for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f].
Cordelia and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are both gorgeous! I’m not sure I could pick!
Of your names, I really like [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m]!
You might like [name_u]Jesse[/name_u], [name_u]Beau[/name_u], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_u]Everly[/name_u], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f]
I much prefer [name_f]Olive[/name_f] from [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. If I ever had an [name_f]Olive[/name_f] though, she would definitely be named after olives which I love.
Cordelia is nice, I just don’t love it. I don’t like how the cord beginning sounds.
I’m reluctant to reply to your question as your friend is the baby’s grandmother, not the baby’s parent. As such she does not get a say.
The baby has a name, a perfectly lovely one. I don’t like to give opinions on names where it has already been chosen by the parents - unless it is a parent actually asking.
