We think we have it down to these 2 names for our baby girl.
[name]Cordelia[/name] - I’m extremely attached to this name. If our son [name]Miles[/name] would have been a girl it would have been a debate between [name]Amelia[/name] or [name]Cordelia[/name]. [name]Cordelia[/name] was my choice, it’s been in the back of my mind ever since and I keep coming back to [name]Cordelia[/name] for our little girl. My husband likes it, but it isn’t his favorite. He has agreed to it though. We would call her [name]Delia[/name] most of the time but I feel like I can’t just name her [name]Delia[/name], she has to be [name]Cordelia[/name].
[name]Violet[/name] - [name]Both[/name] my husband and I love [name]Violet[/name], it’s the only name we both really love. Since we already have daughters named [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Iris[/name], I am hesitant to use [name]Violet[/name]. I don’t want to be stuck with a flower theme. [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] weren’t named because of flowers, [name]Iris[/name] was named because it means “rainbow”. [name]Even[/name] though I am worried about the theme, I still love the name.
Although I prefer [name]Violet[/name], I think [name]Cordelia[/name] is a better choice if you already have a [name]Lillian[/name] ([name]Lily[/name]) and [name]Iris[/name].
I prefer [name]Violet[/name] as a name, as I don’t like the look of the beginning “[name]Cord[/name]” in [name]Cordelia[/name]. But I think [name]Cordelia[/name] is the much better choice for your particular situation. Not only have you loved the name for a long time, but the flower theme would be a little much with a [name]Violet[/name] in the mix.
I love both names, but [name]Violet[/name] is becoming so popular and for your sibset, I would stay away from another flower name. Considering that and the fact that [name]Cordelia[/name] is drop dead gorgeous, not too popular, full of great nicknames and has an easy to figure out spelling, I would tell you to go with [name]Cordelia[/name]!
I think [name]Violet[/name] is best with the other names. They’re all rather short and cute, [name]Cordelia[/name] is long and it’s a very serious name.
I would choose [name]Cordelia[/name].
I think with [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Iris[/name], and [name]Miles[/name], [name]Cordelia[/name] would be a nice fit.
I wouldn’t choose [name]Violet[/name] because of the inevitable flower theme that would be harder to break out of for a potential fourth girl.
(Though [name]Violet[/name] is also a color and not just a flower, just like [name]Iris[/name] is also a rainbow).
[name]Cordelia[/name] all the way! As much as I hate to say it, [name]Violet[/name]'s become really dry and overused. It’s lost it’s spark.
[name]Cordelia[/name] on the other hand is vibrant and flowy, and perfect alongside names [name]Lillian[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Iris[/name] & [name]Miles[/name]
I think both are gorgeous, but I slightly prefer [name]Violet[/name]. I think [name]Violet[/name] would fit better with your other children’s names too, [name]Cordelia[/name] seems a little grand with the rest of them.
I was going to say [name]Violet[/name] because you and your husband both really love it, but with the sibling names I’m going to have to go with [name]Cordelia[/name]. You could use [name]Violet[/name] as the middle name. I really love both of those names, by the way.
I prefer the name [name]Cordelia[/name] because I like [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Delia[/name].
Though honestly if you both love the name I don’t think you should avoid it just because of the flower theme.
[name]Delia[/name] sounds so much like [name]Dahlia[/name] that it’s almost in line with the theme anyway.
You could always call her [name]Lettie[/name] or [name]Vi[/name]
