[name_f]Do[/name_f] you pronounce the different spellings of this name differently? [name_m]How[/name_m] do you say it?
I’d say:
[name_f]Corina[/name_f]: koh-[name_f]REE[/name_f]-na
[name_f]Corrina[/name_f]: kore-EEN-a
[name_f]Corinna[/name_f]: koh-[name_f]RIN[/name_f]-a
[name_f]Corrinna[/name_f]: kore-IN-a
koh = the short ‘o’ in hot, bolt etc.
[name_f]Corina[/name_f]- cor-ih-na
[name_f]Corrina[/name_f]- [name_m]Cor[/name_m]-[name_f]REE[/name_f]-na
[name_f]Corinna[/name_f]- [name_m]Cor[/name_m]-IN-a
[name_f]Corrinna[/name_f]- [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]-a
I like the last one best
Hmm, I’m not sure about the other pronunciations, but my mom spells her name [name_f]Corinna[/name_f] and it is pronounced Core-INN-a
For me (living in the Northern US)
[name_f]Corina[/name_f]: cuh-ree-nuh
[name_f]Corrina[/name_f]: cor-ree-nuh (very, very subtle difference between this and [name_f]Corina[/name_f]. Basically the same for me.)
[name_f]Corinna[/name_f]: cuh-rih-nuh
[name_f]Corrinna[/name_f]: cor-rih-nuh
I pronounce them all pretty much the same. [name_f]Corina[/name_f], possibly with a long ‘ee’ sound, but the rest are coh-rin-ah.
[name_f]Corrina[/name_f] looks the best to me. I prefer [name_f]Corrine[/name_f], though. [name_f]Corrina[/name_f]/[name_f]Corinna[/name_f] sounds like the word ‘coroner’. Maybe that’s my accent.
I think the main difference is that when there are two R’s you can pronounce both
[name_f]Corina[/name_f]/[name_f]Corinna[/name_f] I’d say [name_m]Cor[/name_m]-IN-ah
[name_f]Corrina[/name_f]/[name_f]Corrinna[/name_f] I’d say [name_m]Cor[/name_m]-REEN-uh
But honestly, I think it’s personal preference. There’s not a right way and a wrong way.
Aside from that difference, when said quickly they all sound the same.
[name_f]Corina[/name_f] I’d say like “cor-ree-nuh” but if there were two N’s in the name such as with [name_f]Corinna[/name_f], I’d say “cor-rin-nuh.”
My preferred version is [name_f]Corinna[/name_f].
[name_f]Corina[/name_f]: cor-een-uh
[name_f]Corrina[/name_f]: coh-rin-uh/car-in-uh
[name_f]Corinna[/name_f]: coh-rin-uh/car-in-uh
[name_f]Corrinna[/name_f]: cor-in-uh
