Cormac?

I just recently heard the name [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], and my husband and I actually really like it. What do others think? Also I think the most common nickname for [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] is [name_m]Mac[/name_m], but the first syllable of our last name is “Mak”. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think that would be weird?

Also our kids are [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] goes with those names?

Any other names you might recommend?

Thank you!

It makes me think of cooking. “McCormick” spices. Also sounds a little like “[name_u]Carmen[/name_u]” if you are sloppy saying it. I really like your choices for your other two! Good luck!

It’s a nice name! I think [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] goes alright with [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. ([name_m]Mac[/name_m] goes even better.) The [name_m]Mac[/name_m]-Mak thing could be kinda cool…I think it depends on the rest of your last name.

Other ideas…

[name_m]Alec[/name_m]
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m]
[name_u]Jesse[/name_u]
[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m]
[name_m]Ross[/name_m]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]Victor[/name_m]
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]

I really like [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]! I think it goes well with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m], maybe not perfectly but I don’t think it stands out.

I don’t think of spices, or hear [name_u]Carmen[/name_u] at all but I do think of an Assassin’s [name_m]Creed[/name_m] video game where the main character is [name_u]Shay[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], but what kid wouldn’t think it’s cool that they share a name with a video game character?! (I know that’s last name and your would be first)

I don’t think [name_m]Mac[/name_m]/Mak would be an issue - I’m thinking something like [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] Mc!ntyre (just in case this happens to be the surname), which sounds slightly odd but I wouldn’t think twice if I heard/saw that name around.

I like [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]. The reason I don’t love it is how harsh it can sound.
You could potentially use [name_u]Corey[/name_u] as a nn. But I don’t think the double [name_m]Mac[/name_m] would matter.

It’s nice but not my style. Makes me think of [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] [name_u]McCarthy[/name_u]. I think it goes well with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Mac[/name_m] Mak… totally works!

I think it’s useable, but it reminds me of [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] character [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] Mclaggen… but I doubt this is what most people will think of

I love it!!

I lovvve [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], and would be high on my list if i could convince H. I’m saying it outloud with Mc last names, and it doesnt seem to bother me.

[name_f]Norah[/name_f], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] =yes!
