Is it like the coz- as in [name]Cosmo[/name] & [name]Wanda[/name] and then ihm-uh? What do you think of it?
I’ve always said it coz-EEM-uh but I’m not really sure. I like it though I don’t think I’m brave enough to ever use it.
It’s an Italian name so it’s pronounced “KAW-zee-muh”.
I’ve always said it ‘coss-EE-ma’. But Forvo says ‘cozzy-ma’.
[name]Cosima[/name] is a name that I recently found out I was pronouncing wrong. It is Ka seema.
It is pretty and exotic, but you would probably have issues with it.
The authentic Italian pronunciation is ko-SEE-muh. In English most people say KAH-zi-ma. It’s related to the words for universe like cosmos, cosmology etc so the vowels are similar.
I speak Italian, it’s pronounced KAW-zee-ma.
Ok, cool. That’s my preferred pronunciation. But I have met Italian and Latin women who stress the second syllable?
[name]How[/name] interesting. I’ve always heard it pronounced with the zee/see sound in the middle stressed, and I much prefer it that way. Now I’m sitting in my living room saying the name over and over and the whole name sounds weird from oversaying it.
Ohhh. I love this name. Always pronounced it the Italian way.
I think it’s a beautiful name and prefer the Italian pronunciation. I think of cosmos (space and flowers) when I hear it.
