found the name [name_f]Brunhilda[/name_f] in my name book and i LOVE it! it feels really dated though so I was just wondering if it could ever be usable?
I don’t ever see this name being usable. I don’t like how it sounds very much, but I especially dislike how it looks. Sorry
Personally I’d be ecstatic to meet a little [name_f]Brunhilda[/name_f], but it is a lot of name. Maybe if she mostly went by a nickname? [name_f]Hilda[/name_f], [name_f]Hildie[/name_f], Rune…
I prefer [name_f]Brunhilde[/name_f]. But surely.
Agreed!!! I think it’s gorgeous. So many spunky nickname ideas. If I had a Brunhilde / Brunhilda (both of which I’d pronounce as broon-HILL-duh), I’d call her Bruni for short. I love it!
I mean, there are plenty of kids with big names out there, so it could be. Plus, it has various and versatile nicknames (Bunny, [name_f]Bruna[/name_f], [name_f]Hildie[/name_f], [name_f]Hilda[/name_f], [name_u]Billie[/name_u], [name_u]Rue[/name_u], [name_f]Runa[/name_f], [name_u]Blue[/name_u], Bee)
Yes! It would be super cool to meet a little [name_f]Brunhilda[/name_f]!
I certainly would not want to have this name. Maybe its more usable in other places? Was this the name of a character in Dodgeball or Zoolander?
No. It’s heavy and clumsy, the stereotypical image of a rotund, austere [name_m]German[/name_m] opera singer with horns on her Viking-inspired helmet. It’s strongly associated with [name_m]Wagner[/name_m], the antisemite extraordinaire of whom Hitler was a huge fan.
i think it’s usable !! it’s obviously a bit clunky, but that’s not a crime, and it’s not like brunhilda has a really strong negative association to make it not usable; it’s actually very pretty and i think a really darling name. i know a little girl called hilda and she carries it very well!! i personally like the spelling brunhilde a little more, but they’re both great <3
No
There’s no overtly negative associations (that I know of), so I say it’s definitely useable! [name_m]Just[/name_m] depends on personal preference. I’d be delighted personally to meet a little [name_f]Brunhilda[/name_f] (especially with nn Hilda)
To me it sits near [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. It’s so clunky that it’s rocks it and I’d prefer to meet a young [name_f]Brunhilda[/name_f] than another [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] or [name_f]Mia[/name_f] (two names that are particularly plentiful in pocket of the world).
I love the meaning and the fact that’s it’s different, refreshing. Ru is such a cute nickname option!
But it’s not a soft and sweet name, like most prefer
As a lover of “clunky” and long names like my #1 favourite [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], I would love to see a [name_f]Brunhilda[/name_f] and I think it is usable, a nickname could be used more often if need be.
