For our first two children hubby and I swapped naming rights. Daughter 1, hubby picked first and I picked middle. Daughter 2 I picked first and hubby picked middle. We thought we were done…
Fast forward 1 year and we decide to have our third and final baby.
Then comes the problem of who picks which name, with neither of us willing to give up “first name” rights! :???:
Obviously, we realised we needed to compromise and agree. But could it be done…
If your daughters had more traditional names, then I would say no. But I think [name]Ziggy[/name] [name]Owen[/name] goes well with your daughters names.
[name]Ziggy[/name] and [name]Kitty[/name] are awfully close in sound, and [name]Ziggy[/name] and [name]Zadie[/name] share a starting and ending sound. Honestly ‘[name]Ziggy[/name]’ sounds like a mashup of your daughters’ names; I think it might be confusing when calling the children aloud. And, as I’m sure you know, most people in the US associate [name]Ziggy[/name] with the comic strip character…
So even though the consensus was heartwarming, I would keep looking. Maybe:
Comic strip characters aside, I feel the biggest issue with this name is the fact that it sounds really similar with your current children.
[name]Ziggy[/name], [name]Zadie[/name], and [name]Kitty[/name] are a bit much, for me. I’m glad you and your husband are on the same page, though. All that really matters is that it works for you.
From your signature-list, I think [name]Otis[/name] is fabulous with [name]Zadie[/name] and [name]Kitty[/name]. [name]Buddy[/name] is also pretty irresistible. Makes me think of A [name]Christmas[/name] Memory, by [name]Truman[/name] Capote. If you love the name [name]Buddy[/name], you should read it.
I also feel like [name]Zadie[/name]+[name]Kitty[/name]=[name]Ziggy[/name]. Too close for my taste. I love a lot of the names in your userlists, though! I think these sound fabulous together:
[name]Zadie[/name], [name]Kitty[/name], and [name]Barnes[/name]
[name]Zadie[/name], [name]Kitty[/name], and [name]Otis[/name]
[name]Zadie[/name], [name]Kitty[/name], and [name]Pell[/name]
[name]Zadie[/name], [name]Kitty[/name], and [name]Eben[/name]
[name]Zadie[/name], [name]Kitty[/name], and [name]Odin[/name] (or [name]Orin[/name] or [name]Olin[/name])
[name]Zadie[/name], [name]Kitty[/name], and [name]Asa[/name] ([name]Zadie[/name] and [name]Asa[/name] share some similar sounds, but I think it still works)
I like [name]Bear[/name], but I think a [name]Kitty[/name] and a [name]Bear[/name] in the same family is a bit animal-heavy. Since you like [name]Odin[/name] and [name]Bear[/name], though, what about [name]Orson[/name] or [name]Orion[/name] with the potential nickname [name]Bear[/name]?
From your list I love:
[name]Eben[/name] - if you go with [name]Ebenezer[/name] you’d have a lot of nn options too including Z option like [name]Zeno[/name] and even [name]Enzo[/name]
[name]Alfie[/name] - cute! Again, if you went with [name]Alfonzo[/name] nn [name]Alfie[/name] you could also use nn Onzo
Now that I saw your list of boy names that you like I can choose some others from there! My top 5: [name]Django[/name], [name]Eben[/name], [name]Odin[/name], [name]Asa[/name] and [name]Rocket[/name]. I’m really loving [name]Django[/name] the best with your girls’ names!!
I just glanced at your list, I think [name]Ludo[/name] would be perfect with your girls! IMHO, I think that while [name]Wolf[/name], [name]Lion[/name] and [name]Bear[/name] are good names, I think they get too theme-y with [name]Kitty[/name].
[name]Love[/name] [name]Django[/name]–too bad hubs took it off the table. I think [name]Ziggy[/name] doesn’t work because it sounds too much the same but [name]Wolf[/name] (while I love it) sounds like he will eat [name]Kitty[/name] the first chance he gets.
