Could Josef and Otis be brothers?

I have a son , [name_m]Josef[/name_m], my husband and I both like the name [name_m]Otis[/name_m] but I don’t really know if I like the names together!

What do you think? To close to be bros?

I don’t care for [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and it sticks out next to [name_m]Josef[/name_m] (this is pronounced like [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] right?) which isn’t so unusual. I think it could work though, when written together they work.

I probably wouldn’t do it as they seem a little close in pronunciation. What about [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_m]Oskar[/name_m], [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_m]Markus[/name_m], [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], [name_m]Frank[/name_m], [name_u]Isak[/name_u], [name_m]Viktor[/name_m], [name_m]Ernst[/name_m], [name_m]Emil[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Lukas[/name_m], or [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] instead?

i don’t really believe in The power of the sibset, honestly. I mean, as long as you aren’t naming them [name_m]Josef[/name_m] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], you’re fine. They are individuals with individual names. I don’t think that when they are in their 30s anyone is going to say to [name_m]Otis[/name_m], “oh wow, man. Your brothers name is [name_m]Josef[/name_m]? Your names sound a tiny bit alike. Your parents must have hated you!”

Also, they are both great names and they work fine together. I love [name_m]Otis[/name_m].

They’re both a little off the beaten path of baby naming, so I think they work just fine together. Who cares if they sound a bit similar? I agree completely with pp.

I think [name_m]Otis[/name_m] is lovely! I would love to meet brothers named [name_m]Josef[/name_m] and [name_m]Otis[/name_m].
