Could Ray be short for any other name?

So I’m getting married in [name_u]December[/name_u] and hoping to get preggo right away. The thrill of this is making my name obsession go into overdrive. [name_f]My[/name_f] future husbands middle name is [name_u]Ray[/name_u], and he really loves it. I am on the fence…I like the name more and more but still find it a little lacking in something. Idk, ugh.

So I was thinking could it be a nn for another name? Besides [name_m]Raymond[/name_m]…

[name_m]Rayner[/name_m] perhaps. It’s the English version of [name_m]Rainer[/name_m] (pronounced [name_m]RYE[/name_m]-ner), and starts with [name_u]Ray[/name_u], spelt and pronounced exactly the same.

[name_m]Raphael[/name_m]
[name_u]Rafe[/name_u]/[name_m]Ralph[/name_m]
[name_u]Murray[/name_u]
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]
[name_m]Ragnar[/name_m]/[name_m]Rainier[/name_m]

That’s all I can think of. Good luck!

[name_u]Raylan[/name_u], [name_m]Raiden[/name_m], Rayleigh (might seem a little too girly though, that one)

I love [name_u]Rafe[/name_u]! It is on my list and I can’t believe I didn’t make the connection.
I like [name_m]Rainier[/name_m] but we drink the beer a lot and that might seem a little much, haha.
Thanks everyone for suggestions!

[name_m]Raynold[/name_m]- I have a great grandfather with that as his middle name.
