Could this nickname stand on its own?

We’re trying to come up with new ideas since our name ideas are taking us nowhere.

I am not too fond of the name [name]Rebecca[/name], but I do love the nickname [name]Becca[/name]. I wounder if it could make it as an actual name for a little girl and for a grown woman. What do you think?

Her big sister is [name]Tess[/name], so we could be comming up with a “theme” here. Is that good or bad?

I’m sorry but I dont think [name]Becca[/name] can stand on its own. [name]Tess[/name] stands on its own just fine, [name]Becca[/name] sounds incomplete and everyone would assume her full name is [name]Rebecca[/name].

I think that [name]Becca[/name] is sweet with [name]Tess[/name]. I know an adult Bekah, and it never seemed strange. If it’s a name you love, go for it!

I think [name]Becca[/name] could work as a name on its own. I grew up with a girl named [name]Rebecca[/name] who throughout her childhood went exclusively by [name]Becca[/name] or [name]Becky[/name] and never [name]Rebecca[/name]. To this day she goes by [name]Becca[/name] and she’s a grown woman now, her husband and co-workers call her [name]Becca[/name], so it really is her full name to most. There are plenty of names that were originally nicknames ([name]Beth[/name], [name]Betsy[/name], [name]Maisy[/name]/[name]Daisy[/name], etc.)That being said, I prefer [name]Rebecca[/name] because [name]Becca[/name] does feel a bit incomplete as a name. However, my motto is, if you love it, use it.

[name]Hi[/name]!

You know, I do think [name]Becca[/name] can stand on its own as a full name. Why not? If [name]Sadie[/name] can - if [name]Maisie[/name] can! - then why not [name]Becca[/name], I ask? I think it sounds very cute with [name]Tess[/name], too. It is subtly feminine and sweet, like [name]Tess[/name].

[name]Just[/name] letting you know that in choosing [name]Becca[/name] (with [name]Tess[/name]) you will not only be starting a subtle nickname theme - you aren’t using “overt” nicknames like [name]Chuck[/name] and [name]Dottie[/name] - but also a theme of names with a prominent “eh” sound and repeating consonant letters. [name]Just[/name] saying…

So, what would you use for future little girls after [name]Baby[/name] [name]Becca[/name]? Maybe [name]Nell[/name], [name]Debby[/name], [name]Effie[/name], [name]Emme[/name], [name]Jemma[/name], [name]Jessie[/name], [name]Kendall[/name], or [name]Penny[/name]? My picks for baby girls down the line are [name]Nell[/name] and [name]Emme[/name], then…

Oh, what about boys? Perhaps [name]Jess[/name] or [name]Jett[/name], even [name]Jeff[/name] would be acceptable? Or [name]Penn[/name], [name]Rhett[/name], [name]Dennis[/name], [name]Eddie[/name], [name]Ellis[/name], [name]Emmett[/name], [name]Freddy[/name], [name]Heller[/name], or [name]Teddy[/name]? [name]Penn[/name], [name]Emmett[/name], and [name]Freddy[/name] are my picks for future little boys down the line…

Anyway, just a thought! I think [name]Becca[/name] is great with [name]Tess[/name]! Good luck!

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Becca[/name] is great. [name]Becky[/name] is given as a standalone, so why not?! Of course, I do have a friend named, “[name]Amy[/name]. [name]Just[/name] [name]Amy[/name]. No it is not short for anything! Stop calling me [name]Amelia[/name]!”

Nope, I don’t think [name]Becca[/name] is a stand alone name. And yes people will always think her name is [name]Rebecca[/name]. That being said, who cares? It’s really cute, and you like it and people have chosen far stranger names.

[name]Becca[/name] and [name]Tess[/name] go great together- I way go for it!

I think [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Becca[/name] go perfectly together! ([name]Tess[/name] and [name]Rebecca[/name] would sound mismatched to my ears.) Go for it!

I think [name]Becca[/name] would stand on it’s own nicely.

Here’s an idea- [name]Beatrix[/name], nn Bex, maybe that would satisfy all your wants.
