Could use some opinions on our boy list!

[name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Abel[/name_m], and…

[name_m]Otto[/name_m] - I’m surprised how much I like this name. It feels cool and shadowy to me, probably because of the similarity to the word “grotto.” The only drawback is that it ends in the same long O sound as [name_m]Hugo[/name_m].

[name_m]Ivor[/name_m] - This name feels unfinished to me, like [name_u]Ivory[/name_u] with the last syllable lopped off. I also don’t find it as strong as the other names in the sibset, especially the other boys, and it has the same -or sound as [name_f]Cora[/name_f].

[name_u]Jude[/name_u] - I really like this one for you! It does have the same long U sound as [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], and it doesn’t feel quite as vintage as the other names, but it’s strong enough to hold its own.

[name_u]Theo[/name_u] - I adore the name [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. It’s sweet and endearing, soft but strong. It has the same problem as [name_m]Otto[/name_m], in that it shares the long O ending with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], but other than that, it fits perfectly into the sibset.

[name_m]Luke[/name_m] - I don’t care for this one. It seems quite plain next to the other names. Like [name_u]Jude[/name_u], it shares the long U sound with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], but it also shares the L initial with [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. Since you aren’t madly in love with the name, I think you have better options.

[name_m]Otis[/name_m] - I think out of all the names on your initial shortlist, this one fits most seamlessly into your sibset. It’s vintage and unusual, but familiar to the ear, and it has a completely different ending syllable from the other kids’ names. This is my favorite of your options.

[name_u]Wren[/name_u] - I love this name, and I especially love that you’re considering it for a boy! I find it pretty, but plain on a girl, but on a boy it’s fresh, unique, and the nature connection feels lush and gentle. The only potential downside I see is that it may read as feminine or unisex on paper, whereas all your other choices are clearly gendered. If that’s not an issue for you, this would be a great choice!

I absolutely love [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and I think either would be just lovely with your set. [name_m]Otis[/name_m] may be a slightly better fit as it has a different ending from brothers and sisters names while [name_m]Otto[/name_m] has the same ending as [name_m]Hugo[/name_m].

I would rule [name_m]Ivor[/name_m] out straight away because I don’t think it fits with your other children’s names. I would also rule out [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] as they’re only one syllable long.

In order of preference:

  1. [name_m]Otto[/name_m]
  2. [name_u]Theo[/name_u]
  3. [name_m]Otis[/name_m]

[name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is lovely

I saw your comment about [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. Despite it only being one syllable long, I really like it for you

I like [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] in that order

Great list!

I’m obviously a big fan of [name_u]Jude[/name_u], but I also like [name_m]Otis[/name_m], [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_m]Ivor[/name_m]!

My other pics (sorry for repeats) would be:

[name_u]Beau[/name_u]
[name_m]Bear[/name_m]
[name_m]Finlo[/name_m]
[name_m]Jago[/name_m]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_u]Remy[/name_u] / [name_u]Remi[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]

I do like [name_u]Wren[/name_u], but must be honest and say I see it as more of a girl’s name (probably mainly as I know a baby girl with the name)

I feel like my favorite boy names fall into the same category of boy names as yours: short, international, full of personality, unique and at the same time familiar. My personal favorites for you would be [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_m]Otto[/name_m]. [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is the best part of [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and it’s also on the rise. Not a bad thing, in my opinion, it just means a lot of people love it because it’s that awesome. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is a bit less familiar USA speaking. It sounds quite like the word ‘auto’ in some accents, but I don’t think it’s something that takes away from its charm or from the extremely awesome fact that it’s a palindrome!!! Any kid would think that’s amazing. I also really like the possibility of [name_u]Wren[/name_u] for you, it’s a bit outside of the box compared to your sons’ names, but as an individual name, it’s very handsome, unique and at the same time easy-sounding. I like it a lot!
