Does this name have staying power? I s it too fusty to be used in a few years? YOu can be brutally honest, it’s ok.
I think that [name]Wilmer[/name] could definitely make a come back. I think it still has a really nerdy feel to it but the right little boy would completely turn that around for me. As people look for alternatives to [name]William[/name] I think we will see the [name]Wil[/name]- names slowly come back into style like [name]Wilfred[/name], [name]Wilmer[/name], [name]Wilbur[/name], etc. I’ve already met little boys named [name]Wilson[/name], [name]Wilder[/name], and [name]Wilbur[/name] nn [name]Will[/name].
I don’t think it’s ready for a comeback. [name]Wilmer[/name] reminds me of [name]Wilma[/name]. I can see the attraction of Wilde or [name]Wilder[/name] but not [name]Wilmer[/name]. I would be a bold and unusual choice for a parent to make.
Sure. I think it could definitely make a comeback! In 2010 or 2011 you might raise a few eyebrows, but in a few years I think we’re going to start trending towards the older names again. People are going to get tired of [name]Aidan[/name]/[name]Brayden[/name]/[name]Caden[/name]/[name]Jaden[/name] names on boys and [name]Wilmer[/name] will be a breath of fresh air. [name]Will[/name] is a cute, accessible nickname. And there’s [name]Wilmer[/name] Valderrama, who doesn’t seem to have any trouble with his name.
I think [name]Wilson[/name] and [name]Wilbur[/name] are slowly making a come back, [name]Wilmer[/name] could be next in line but I don’t think it’s quite ready too come back yet.
I think it definitely will. I personally like [name]Wilmer[/name] more than [name]Wilson[/name] and [name]Wilbur[/name], which I have heard people using lately.
