if it’s a girl: Cereza [name]Cassandra[/name]
What do you guys think? Cereza is spanish for cherry, neither are Spanish, plus I don’t think it’s used as a name… I also worry there will be pronunciation problems… but it’s her baby not mine.
I would never guess that [name]Greyson[/name] [name]Hunter[/name] and Cereza [name]Cassandra[/name] were names chosen by the same parents.
I know, they would be quite an odd sibset. She originally planned on [name]Cassandra[/name] as a first name, nn [name]Cas[/name], but she surprised everyone today with Cereza… she’s not due till [name]December[/name], so we’re hoping she’ll change her mind. The boy’s name is set though.
Is your cousin or her husband big video gamers? Cereza is a charater in a game called Bayonetta, that is the only time I have seen it used for a girl. It would be a cute name for a spanish girl, but a bit strange for anyone else. It is also pronounce a bit different by different areas of spanish speaking. Sometimes it almost sounds like [name]Theresa[/name] but mostly Sereza or Zereza. [name]How[/name] would they pronounce it? The boys name is very handsome. I like [name]Greyson[/name] and [name]Hunter[/name] and the combo sounds good together.
I was assuming Sereza, but I’ll have to ask. I never realized there were 3 different ways to say it. I just found one audio clip.
I love [name]Greyson[/name] (not [name]Hunter[/name] so much but they go together nicely) and I love [name]Cassandra[/name] but not Cereza. Seems too cutsey and what not, and it doesn’t go with [name]Cassandra[/name] or [name]Greyson[/name] at all. If she turned it around to [name]Cassandra[/name] Cereza then it would be a lot better.
Oh and yes she got the name from the video game…
I personally really hate [name]Greyson[/name] [name]Hunter[/name], it seems very ‘‘Americanized’’ and its really not my style! It also seems very bland.
On the other hand I really like Cereza [name]Cassandra[/name], the only issue may be if she lives somewhere that has a large hispanic community, also I hate to say it, but going for job applications etc she may be judged by a hispanic name! I know thats an awful thing to say but it happens a lot where I live!

It’s the opposite where I live. Here, you are more likely to be called back if they think you are Hispanic. (Now, sometimes the reason for this is because they believe Hispanics will work for lower pay.) That generally just applies to a full Hispanic name, like [name]Marisol[/name] Martinez. I live in a small [name]Texas[/name] town with a very large and growing Hispanic population. I’m sure it varies from place to place, though.
I don’t hate Cereza, but I think [name]Cassandra[/name] would be much better up front. As for [name]Greyson[/name], I’m tired of the -son trend, but it’s not terrible I guess. I do not like [name]Hunter[/name] at all.
For some reason, Cereza is making me think of chorizo and now I’m hungry!
I dislike Cereza because it means cherry and it makes teasing very easy for a teenage girl. I know a [name]Cerise[/name] (French for cherry) and middle/high school and even college were not easy with rude references, etc. I know it’s just immaturity but those are difficult years for lots of girls even without adding the too-easy-to-pass-up jokes and comments.
