These characters know each other through The Epilogue Bookstore, whether as employees, regulars, or neighbors to the shop. They’re all having an eventful week!
Person 1: Caroline Margaret (36)
The store manager, dedicated and intelligent, and has worked hard to make sure the small business is successful. She and her partner are adopting a child today!
Person 2: William Fox “Liam” (19)
A college student absolutely living his hipster fantasy working in a family owned bookstore in a college town. Today is a special anniversary for him–it’s been a year since he found and adopted his cat, Shrimp!
Person 3: Marjorie June “Jo” (72)
The owner of the shop, married to Louisa (69). While on her way into the store this morning, she was at a crosswalk standing beside a woman carrying groceries. The woman dropped an orange while moving things around trying to answer her phone and instinctively went to grab it from the ground as a car was coming, but Jo pulled her back just in time. The orange did get run over, but you win some, you lose some, and oranges are replaceable.
Person 4: Louisa Clementine (69)
A college professor at the local University, and a regular at the shop…and also the owner’s wife. Today she asked out someone she loves and got rejected! Well, actually, she just asked if Jo wanted to go out for dinner tonight, but Jo asked if they can go tomorrow instead because she just feels like being lazy tonight. Louisa is teasingly saying that Jo rejected her.
Person 5: Caspian Heath (27)
An employee who loves books and loves working at the shop. There’s a bartender at the pub next door who is consistently rude to him, which has become a running joke in the shop. After a few drinks and feeling really amused by the situation, he jokingly asks the bartender out, and to Caspian’s surprise…he says yes??? They’re getting coffee next weekend.
Person 6: Hannelore Emmylou (18)
Daughter to Cecelia (39). A shy high school senior who works part-time at the shop. She tries to befriend another girl who comes into the store as a customer, and thinks that she made it awkward and feels embarrassed. However, the girl comes back, remembers Hannelore’s name and their conversation, and invites her to a local festival with her and her friends!
Person 7: Orion Jonathan (45)
A kind-hearted single father; he runs the pub next-door and works hard to make ends meet for his family. He was in the most luxurious mansion ever, but wakes up and realizes that, not only was he dreaming, but his actual house is on fire. Thankfully, Orion reacts quickly to gather his son, daughter, and dog, and the family escapes unharmed.
Person 8: Simon Anton (29)
The pub’s cook; he competes in his favorite cooking competition reality show, but ends up being the first eliminated. He’s still pretty psyched he got his 15 minutes, though!
Person 9: Cecelia Joan (39)
Has been a regular at the bookstore for many years, and was overjoyed when her daughter, Hannelore (18) accepted a job there. She recently found a family heirloom that had been lost for NINE years! It’s a locket that had belonged to her grandmother, and she plans to pass it on to Hannelore when she graduates.
