Warning for kicking out and that this character was conceived through affair.
[name_f]Tiffany[/name_f] “ [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] “ [name_f]Carole[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] (54) is Lyra’s mother and a cousin of [name_m]Clay[/name_m] Greene-Donner, although she’s not very close to him for personal reasons that have nothing to do with him. [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] has been growing closer to him despite their age difference and she is aware that he is going to have a fourth child. [name_f]Tina[/name_f] loves Clay’s and Eloise’s relationship and how it’s so well-balanced. She is the owner of Pastrifa, a café for coffee and pastries. She loves her business and considers herself happier with some goodies. She cares a lot about her employees and stands up for them and their rights a lot. Many times some Karens have made unreasonable complaints about her employees and asked to see her. However, [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] wouldn’t force her employees to relent to the Karens liked they’d expect her to do. She’d even side with her employees when the [name_f]Karen[/name_f] was being exceptionally rude. Recently, she’s patched up a conflict between her employee [name_m]Urmas[/name_m] [name_m]Lukus[/name_m] and his friend [name_f]Kia[/name_f] [name_u]Ashton[/name_u]. [name_m]Urmas[/name_m] told her about how he misses his friend [name_f]Kia[/name_f], but he was afraid she would not want to see him anymore, since he overheard her say she hated him. He states he’s known [name_f]Kia[/name_f] and her family for a long time and that her sisters [name_u]Lux[/name_u] and [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] want him to patch things up and that he should have listened to the former. [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] convinced him to try to talk to her, even if it doesn’t work out, and that it’s a plus that her sisters aren’t against him as a person.
He did end up patching things with his friend and told [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] he’s grateful to have finally done this. He learned the impact of Kia’s ex on her personality and that she missed him as well. It felt as though the two needed each other after all and they ended up comforting each other and knowing one another much more. [name_u]Lux[/name_u] and [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] knows they got on good terms again and they’re happy. [name_m]Urmas[/name_m] thanked [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] for being so real with her employees all the time and helping them through their lives. The reason why [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] understood the issue between them was because of a vaguely similar incident with one of her own friends growing up. [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] was the only redhead growing up and often felt odd, like she wasn’t biological, but dismissed it, despite how rare natural red hair was. One day, she couldn’t keep dodging the question and at 14, asked her mother if she was really her father’s daughter. She refused to do a paternity test for [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] but showed [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] a blood type test. [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] and her parents were all O+. [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] was convinced enough but her maternal grandmother, also Clay’s grandmother, confessed her daughter wasn’t Tifa’s mother. [name_f]Tina[/name_f] was so shocked by this and had no idea what to do. She asked her best friend for advice and her best friend told her to just confess to her father and that it’s better to be honest. [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] took the advice, which was well-intended but impractical. Her “father” initially kicked her out of the house and while her mother did keep her in a separate house with her for the remainder of her juvenile life, [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] could never forget being kicked out like that. She didn’t like living with her mother, she had caused all this with her affair. But she yelled at her best friend as well, hollering, “You just gave me the worst advice ever! Now my father despises me and I live with just my mother who started it all! [name_f]My[/name_f] family knows I’m an affair baby and you’re the worst excuse of a friend for leading me here. Don’t talk to me again!”
She ended up taking a lot of therapy and even while in therapy, had to check on her emotional well-being, given the fact some people go through mental health crises even while currently in therapy to solve them. She gave birth to her daughter at the age of 29, which she thought she wouldn’t do. She never expected to be brave enough to even consider motherhood. But deep inside, she wanted to have children. She adored her daughter and gave her a beautiful childhood. [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] was always happy when her daughter [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] was happy. However at this time, she realised her daughter couldn’t always be happy and she focused on helping resolve conflict better for the sake of her daughter and community. She’s proud to be a business owner, something she had looked up to. However, not everything was sunshine, while she did end up talking and apologising to her former friend, they never became friends again. But [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] owned up that she shouldn’t have expected her juvenile friend with unproblematic parents to give advice on such a serious matter, and respected that her former friend’s heart was in the right place. Currently, she’s still not close with her mother, but she’s reconnected with her cousins, such as [name_m]Clay[/name_m]. She feels awkward around him and some extended family, especially when she sees how much everything’s changed these past years. She feels she’s been too drifted apart from [name_m]Clay[/name_m] and her other cousins and has made more of an effort to support them. She’s encouraged [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] to connect with her second cousins as well and not to let her past hurt her daughter’s own relationships. She’s had some honest conversations lately with [name_u]Bridger[/name_u], given she feels he is focusing a lot on his mental health. [name_f]Tifa[/name_f] feels [name_u]Bridger[/name_u] has been happier lately but never assumes he’s “cured”. She’s unaware of his diagnosis but she knows he goes to therapy himself and she’s made him understand more about his emotional well-being.
