The way this game works is that each poster will be responsible for adding another event to the story family’s life. If a poster wishes to make the game generational, they may say “Skip 10 years” or something along those lines. Here’s an example:
Poster 1: Lucy Elizabeth Browne met Collin Douglas Starrwhen he accidently took the wrong turn and ended up at her office. After five years of dating and two years of being married, they decided to adopt a baby girl. Her name is Anna Eleanor Starr, which satisfies both their liking for vintage names and their wish to honor Eleanor Roosevelt(her birth name was Anna Eleanor).
Poster 2: Lucy Elizabeth Browne met Collin Douglas Starrwhen he accidently took the wrong turn and ended up at her office. After five years of dating and two years of being married, they decided to adopt a baby girl. Her name is Anna Eleanor Starr, which satisfies both their liking for vintage names and their wish to honor Eleanor Roosevelt(her birth name was Anna Eleanor).
When Anna is two, they decide to try and have a child. They are successful, and Lucy gives birth to b/g twins! They are named Sylvia Audrey Starr (after Sylvia Plath and Audrey Hepburn) and AndrewJohn Starr (after AndrewCarnegie and JohnRockefeller).
Poster 3: [Repeat previous posters if you want] Only a year after the birth of the twins, Collin’s mother, Rachel Margaret Starr, dies. A week after her death, Lucyfinds out that she is pregnant with a baby girl. They decide to name her Rachel Michelle Starr.
Poster 4: [Repeat previous posters if you want] Anna is now 3, Sylvia and Andy are 1, and Rachel is a newborn. Their family is complete. They move to a bigger house in Chicago.
Poster 5: [Repeat previous posters if you want] Skip 20 years. At 23, Anna - now studying to be a neuroscientist - meets the guy of her dreams: Joseph “Joey” Abbiati, a 22-year-old dancer. They date for a couple years, and then get married when Anna is 26 and Joey is 25.
Poster 6: [Repeat previous posters if you want] Meanwhile, Sylvia is now 24 and is pregnant with a baby girl. She names her Almandine Lucille Browne, aka “Mandy” - her mn honors Sylvia’s mother.
…and so on! Make sure not to write too much; leave some for other people! At the end, you can write something poetic like, “And so, the next generation of the Starr clan grew up to become wonderful people just like their parents…” or something basic like “End family: Lucy and Collin with Anna (with Joey), Sylvia (with Mandy), Andrew, and Rachel .”
I’ll start:
[name_m]Ravi[/name_m] [name_u]Shaw[/name_u] married [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] [name_m]Wilson[/name_m] two months ago. They met when [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] came to Chile for a modeling gig and literally ran into [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] at the market. [name_m]Ravi[/name_m] is a biologist and spends most of his time in the Chilean highlands studying the wildlife there, but he had traveled into town for a restocking run when he met [name_f]Roxy[/name_f]. In a true fairytale happening, it was love at first sight for both of them! After her modeling gig was over, [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] continued traveling the circuit, but returned to Chile on holiday six months later. She and [name_m]Ravi[/name_m] rekindled their relationship and got engaged after three weeks together. They were married in a small, local ceremony attended by traditional Chilean elders (whom [name_m]Ravi[/name_m] had befriended). The two of them plan to return to the US for a wedding ceremony in the next year or so, when [name_m]Ravi[/name_m]’s contract in Chile expires and he is assigned something else to study. Both [name_m]Ravi[/name_m] and [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] are from the US, incidentally; however, [name_m]Ravi[/name_m] is from the northeast and [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] is from [name_u]California[/name_u].
