mw: parental abandonment

[name_u]Demeter[/name_u] " [name_f]Demi[/name_f] " [name_f]Colette[/name_f] [name_m]Radbourne[/name_m] (18) is Cat’s best friend and right-hand woman when it comes to the National Honours Society. She’s also the main confident when it comes to Cat’s uncertainties about her future, and tries her best to help counsel her about the major decision she’s facing at university. [name_f]Demi[/name_f] wants to see [name_f]Cat[/name_f] happy, more than anything else, but understands the complexities of family; partially because of her own circumstances. Following the sudden passing of her mother when she was seven - who lost her life to cancer - Demi’s father abandoned her with her grandma, promising it would just be a weekend visit and promptly disappearing from her life for the next 4 years, and even when he came back from his bender in Vegas; it was clear parenting didn’t interest him, and Demi’s told [name_f]Cat[/name_f] in private that she’s happy being an only sibling because it’s spared her from seeing anyone else subjected to the same painful rejection.

While she knows she’s going to major in biochemistry, what’s important to [name_f]Demi[/name_f] is staying close to her grandma, the person she cares for more than anyone else for her kindness and lack of resentment about taking in a child suddenly. Her grandma’s passed on her cookery skills to [name_f]Demi[/name_f] too, something a little funny given she’s known for her academic prowess, and she’s made snacks for the Point of No Return members when she’s attended practise before - as although Demi’s seen as quite aloof and evasive in the general school network, she’s got a very thoughtful and patient side to her. If [name_f]Cat[/name_f] ever wants to get away from the pressures of her parents, Demi’s grandma is more than happy for her to stay round and insists on doting upon her the same way she does with Demi; something her granddaughter finds ridiculously sweet.

Because they’ve got more classes together, Demi’s knows [name_f]Nan[/name_f] better than some of her other friends, partially because they’ve also attended band practise as “plus one’s”, and quietly disapproves of how [name_m]Camilo[/name_m] got involved in her relationship with [name_m]Xander[/name_m]. Conflict is something Demi’s generally got little time for - she saw enough erupt between her dad and grandma when he was pretending he wanted custody of her again, solely to impress his new girlfriend - but she’ll fight for those she’s close to, even if it’s in subtler ways: such as how she talks to [name_f]Cat[/name_f]. [name_f]Demi[/name_f] does talk with quite a flat affect though, which means she and her friends joke she permanently sounds unenthusiastic or over things; a veritable superpower in the high school world.

[name_m]Trigger[/name_m] Warning: Mental Health Issues

[name_m]Emeric[/name_m] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] VanHausen (18) is another member of the National Honours Society and friendly acquaintance of [name_f]Demi[/name_f] and [name_f]Cat[/name_f], although he wouldn’t call them friends just yet - something he attributes to his own shyness around those he considers impressive. A little ironically, [name_m]Emeric[/name_m] is best friends with [name_m]Xander[/name_m], belonging to the debate team, and these skills came in handy when [name_u]Cam[/name_u] decided it was his right to police Nan’s love life. While he avoids any heated discussions outside of debating like the plague, Emeric’s loyalty to his best friend gave him more confidence during that crisis, but he still feels unhappy, as [name_f]Nan[/name_f] went through a lot of pain and clearly doesn’t trust her brother the same way anymore; causing her to withdraw in the family dynamic, a concern to her parents and [name_m]Xander[/name_m], who comes to [name_m]Emeric[/name_m] for advise on how to help his girlfriend.

Although he’s not an expert with dating, Emeric’s empathy and kindness allow him to help people easily, which is why he wants to become a psychotherapist when he graduates. There’s a history of mental illness in his family, which appeared most recently in his older sister, who suffered a total mental breakdown at college 6 months ago, which no-one saw coming, not even his sister herself. He’s confided in [name_m]Xander[/name_m] about this and they’re practically inseparable, even with how devoted to [name_f]Nan[/name_f] the drummer is. Emeric’s kept his sister’s breakdown secret from gossip though as he can’t stand the idea of people using her as a source of entertainment and only 2 friends aside from [name_m]Xander[/name_m] are aware of the family situation. She’s now home again, a considerable relief to [name_m]Emeric[/name_m], and the two have resumed their childhood tendency of going on bike rides together as a means of finding some freedom from stresses and worries; which means a lot to him.

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] Michaelson (18) is another member of the National Honours Society, an acquaintance of [name_f]Demi[/name_f], [name_f]Cat[/name_f], and [name_m]Emeric[/name_m], and secretary of the student council. She’s a bit closer to [name_f]Cat[/name_f] than the others— though [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] hasn’t hung out with her yet, they’re in multiple classes together and are more in-class friends. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] recently sent a text to [name_f]Cat[/name_f] asking if she wanted to get lunch with her someday, but she hasn’t gotten a response yet. Rowan’s best friend tells her to be patient, but she’s nervous about it. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] has moderate ADHD and can occasionally be bad at social cues, and she would hate it to have made [name_f]Cat[/name_f] feel uncomfortable.

Rowan’s also in the debate team with [name_m]Emeric[/name_m], and her skills came in handy as well when she caught [name_u]Cam[/name_u] stalking his sister around in school. She’s told him to knock it off several times until he finally stops, but [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] still keeps an eye on him. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is especially sensitive to stalkers— her older sister had a crazy ex-boyfriend who’s tried to climb into her window multiple times after the breakup and has threatened Rowan’s life if her sister didn’t talk to him again. Thankfully, her older sister got a protective order against him, and he’s no longer a concern. Due to the previous situation, [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] feels that Cam’s behaviour could have easily turned dangerous if she didn’t intervene. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] has reached out to [name_f]Nan[/name_f] and told her that she’d be there if the girl ever needed to talk, and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] hopes [name_f]Nan[/name_f] will take her advice.

As a prospective humanities major, [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is the odd one in her circle of friends. The group of six is filled with two science majors, one pre-med student, one mathematics major (which [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] will never understand), and two physics majors. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] wants to become a journalist or lawyer, and her field was only secured even further when she saw all the shit her friends needed to go through. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] loves her friends, though, and she knows they’ll go on and do amazing things.

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is the second eldest of five siblings and lives with four of them at the moment. The eldest child, Rowan’s sister, has an apartment near Rowan’s dream school, and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] plans on moving there if she ever gets accepted there.

[name_f]Blossom[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] Ewell-Porter (18) is Rowan’s best friend and an aspiring ecology student. This confuses a lot of people aside from the natural sciences part of her plans, as Blossom’s the daughter of record shop owners who gave her and her brother - who’s just turned 14 which makes him the height of maturity as far as he’s concerned - very bohemian names, as well as raising them to be heavily invested in environmental concerns. Her friendship with [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] began when they were only seven, when they were placed in the same art class and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] was the only person who liked Blossom’s very chaotic approach to expression: not really wanting to draw anything but instead wanting maximum colour in all her artwork. This mirrors her nature, as Blossom’s a vibrant personality who knows tonnes of trivia and factoids: things she attributes to her social skills becoming more rounded as she’s grown up. It also makes her extra supportive of Rowan’s desires to reach out to [name_f]Cat[/name_f], but Blossom’s never going to overstep or try and tell her friend what to do.

The two became closer when the Michaelson’s dealt with the stalking of Rowan’s older sister and Blossom’s mothers’ let her stay over whenever she wanted, as well as spending a lot of time talking to Rowan’s parents about how they could help. This is why [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] feels so strongly about standing against any kind of unfair control - including how people treat the environment and disregard warnings about improving energy sources and preventing pollution; leading to her attending a lot of protests, some of which her friends accompany on her on (and they always approve of her signs before she heads out to make a stand). Her mom actually signed her up to a mini-law course so [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] knows her rights if anyone tries arresting her, and she’s passed it onto her friends for when they come with.

There’s a rumour one of their other friends may have a crush on [name_f]Blossom[/name_f], but she’s quite unaware of this because she’s naturally affectionate and doesn’t see herself as dating material because of how strong her platonic bonds are. She and one of the other group members attend kickboxing classes with Rowan’s sister, and [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] will openly admit to having always idolised her: she basically was the older sibling [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] always wanted, as she’ll tell you she isn’t built to be the firstborn and insists her mom’s should’ve started their family before her as a long running joke. Blossom’s also become friendlier with [name_m]Emeric[/name_m] recently and has invited him to hang out with their group when he’s not with [name_m]Xander[/name_m] or his sister, as his debating skills seriously impressed her, as well as his loyalty to his best friend in a difficult time. Once you impress [name_f]Blossom[/name_f], she’ll go out of her way to let you know and has no shame writing her friends little notes expressing her pride in them.

[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] ’ [name_u]Moe[/name_u] ’ [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] Ewell-Porter (14) is Blossom’s younger brother and, as mentioned, practically an adult in his own right now he’s on the cusp of leaving middle school for high school. In spite of how his desire to be seen as mature causes a lot of amusement for his mom’s and sister, they won’t deny [name_u]Moe[/name_u] isn’t a naturally kind-hearted boy who does his best to be there for his friends and won’t let anyone be mistreated. He’s gotten into trouble a few times for picking fights with bullies - even those who don’t bother the people he’s close with - and his moms’ have felt torn on how to handle this: they’re proud of [name_u]Moe[/name_u] hating to see anyone mistreated, but are trying to convince him to use words instead of actions.

While he’ll never admit it, he does think his sister and her friend’s are pretty cool, but no-one can know this; especially as he’s friends with the younger sibling of another member of [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] and Rowan’s group, and it’s an unspoken rule you can’t praise them because some day, their gang will be on that level, and it could kill the hype. Some people at Moe’s middle school find his record collection impressive (he’s very proud), as he asks his parents to save him specific copies, and has expressed interest in inherting the business Vinyl [name_f]Fantasy[/name_f] once he’s older. He’s starting to become invested in the environment too, and has accompanied [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] to some protests, where he and his sister have been able to talk on more of a similar level now they’re both much calmer people than their wild old selves.

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Cora[/name_f] Ewell-Porter (née Ewell) (46) is [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] and Cosmo’s mom- or one of them anyway. [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] and [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] were both adopted, and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] welcomed them both with open arms. She’s the only child in her family and her parents supported her when she told them she had a girlfriend- who later became her wife and [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] and Blossom’s other mama. Her parents weren’t as nice about it, and they don’t even know [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] or [name_u]Moe[/name_u] exists. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is a teacher at Moe’s school- she’s the social worker and talks to just about everyone. She hates when [name_u]Moe[/name_u] is falsely accused and blamed when he does the right thing- stand up for people in need. She tries to talk it through with the teachers but they all dismiss her and her inclinations as “favoritism,” which angers her.

She’s been talking to a lot of students recently, including Moe’s friend in Blossoms’s friend group, whose home life has spun out of control- [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] wants to help but she doesn’t want to call CPS, as she knows it might not be helpful. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is conflicted right now and she doesn’t want to spill other peoples business especially not to their friends but she’s scared if she doesn’t do something nobody’s going to…

Apart from doing counselor work she also runs a record shop with her wife and she enjoys it though her schedule is tight. She also attends protests and marches with her children. She is very passionate about the environment.

:exclamation: tw: censored description of a panic attack

[name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] " [name_f]Addie[/name_f] " [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_u]Kingston[/name_u] (17) is a part of [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and Blossom’s group and is Blossom’s next door neighbour. The new kid at school, [name_f]Addie[/name_f] befriended [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] first before realising they were going to school together— she saw [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] at a shared science class on the first day of school. [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] soon introduced [name_f]Addie[/name_f] to the rest of her friends, and even though she’s a grade below them, [name_f]Addie[/name_f] fit in seamlessly. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] initially hoped that [name_f]Addie[/name_f] was an art major, but it’s the opposite— Addie’s the pre-med student who rounded our group. [name_f]Addie[/name_f] is interested in fashion and art, but her real passion lies in medicine, specifically surgery. [name_f]Addie[/name_f] grew up around medicine, the daughter of a family doctor and a general surgeon, and thinks it’s the closest thing to becoming a superhero (the occupation she initially wanted at seven years old).

[name_f]Addie[/name_f] wasn’t there when the drama with [name_f]Nan[/name_f] and [name_u]Cam[/name_u] happened, and she’s glad she’s narrowly missed it. The reason why [name_f]Addie[/name_f] switched schools was that her previous friend group at her old school fractured horribly: there was so much backstabbing and gossip, and [name_f]Addie[/name_f], not wanting to be involved in any of it, was stretched thin trying to play mediator for all her friends. It got to the point where [name_f]Addie[/name_f] had panic attacks when she saw specific people pop up on her notifications. When Addie’s mum found her daughter curled up into a ball and sobbing into her phone, the family decided [name_f]Addie[/name_f] had to switch schools for her mental well-being. [name_f]Addie[/name_f] goes to therapy and is processing her trauma, but she has told her current friends that she hopes they’re all mature enough to handle drama like ordinary people. This might be why she stays away from [name_u]Cam[/name_u]— his erratic behaviour (that she’s heard of) has made her wary of the boy.

[name_f]Addie[/name_f] is the second youngest of four siblings. Two of the elder siblings are doctors, one working as a psychiatrist and the other as a resident planning to specialise in neurosurgery. The youngest seems to go towards the arts, and Addie’s parents fully support that. They’ve never understood why doctors always forced their kids to follow their path, as [name_f]Addie[/name_f] and the rest of her siblings only followed in their footsteps if they wanted to.

mw: drugs and incarcerated parent

[name_f]Maridel[/name_f] " [name_f]Mara[/name_f] " [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] Henmeyer (17) is a newer friend of Addie’s who exists outside of the group involving [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_f]Blossom[/name_f], having met [name_f]Addie[/name_f] due to their mutual interest in fashion. For [name_f]Mara[/name_f], it’s what she wants to pursue academically and professionally; being a very talented sewer and knitter who customises a lot of her own stuff and hopes to create her prom outfit, but this might be waylaid by other aspects of life. Living with her mother, a single parent, in her grandma’s house has been stable for [name_f]Mara[/name_f] but the fact her older sister remained at home while attending college (to save money) means space isn’t as available as [name_f]Mara[/name_f] would like. She moved around a lot while growing up thanks to the circumstances regarding her father: a man arrested when [name_f]Mara[/name_f] was only two thanks to his involvement in drug smuggling after years of bouncing between legal jobs but somehow conjuring up money at odd intervals, which her mom only didn’t recognise more due to the stress of paying bills while working table waiting jobs herself.

There’s never been any real contact between him and his daughters, who use their mother’s surname, but [name_f]Mara[/name_f] doesn’t talk about this much as it tends to cause people to look at her differently for all the wrong reasons. She’s someone who comes out of her shell at random points and typically sticks to the group she knows and trust better than anything else; but a common interest or hobby - usually style - will grant her some more confidence, every once in a while. Growing up, [name_f]Mara[/name_f] and her sister have always had a loving but slightly combative relationship, as her sister’s always been a social butterfly with a lot of friends forever at their house - a nightmare for [name_f]Mara[/name_f] if she’s working on a project with a dozen people in her way.

Aside from fashion, she’s mad about romantic poetry and 70s psychedelic rock, preferring dreamy concepts that she jokes tie to her avoidant tendencies - especially when it comes to her dad. She’s very understanding of others though, which led to her befriending [name_f]Addie[/name_f], and takes no offense she’s already part of another group - as well as being careful to make sure she doesn’t feel pressured about hanging out or chatting about whatever. Mara’s knowledge of the general school gossip is limited anyways as she avoids it like the plague given the reputation following her across various schools because of her father, and it’s also why she doesn’t belong to any clubs as when she did belong to the Fashion Society, a question about her dad came up only a week into her membership…which caused her to instantly leave. Being asked does cause [name_f]Mara[/name_f] to turn quite frosty, as she’s not heard from the man in years, and doesn’t even know if she considers him family now for how he hurt so many people, while lying to her mom.

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] Henmeyer (19) is Mara’s big sister, who turned 19 last month, making her “practically an adult” by her standards. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] remembers a little more of her father- but she’s trying to block it out and just have fun. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] seemed to grow up faster than the other kids, and she was often tending to [name_f]Mara[/name_f] at a very young age and reading her stories to help her go to bed. Fiona’s very inquisitive, and she can very easily read a room, and the people in it. She often has parties as a coping mechanism- her ways of trying to cope with the past are very different from her sister’s. In a way, Fiona’s only trying to get back her childhood….growing up moving around all the time was very tough for her and it was hard to keep friends- [name_f]Mara[/name_f] was always less dependent on people than [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] was and she desperately needed a support network to keep her afloat.

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] has always been curious about her dad- she doesn’t close off when asked about him like [name_f]Mara[/name_f], she just quickly changes the subject of him. When she was younger, [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] always did dance recitals and asked her mom if her dad would come…her mother was heartbroken whenever she had to say no. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] still does dance- jazz, ballet, hip-hop- it’s a lot on her schedule but she enjoys it a lot, and her mother can fund it. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is planning to major in dance in college, but she’s holding off on college for now because she’s trying to save more money. [name_f]Mara[/name_f] is very supportive of her and excited for her to pursue her dreams. Fiona’s friends with [name_f]Nan[/name_f], Rho, [name_f]Audrie[/name_f] and [name_u]Cam[/name_u], but she doesn’t know them very well- she knows [name_f]Addie[/name_f] though and feels really sad that she had to go through all that stuff. However, she’s glad that everybody’s healing.

tw: alcoholism - uncensored but not graphic

[name_u]Dakota[/name_u] Jiéxīn Huang (19) is a childhood friend of Fiona’s who she got back in contact with following her successful application to university. The two met thanks to belonging to a specific support group their old elementary school set up, that focused on students with absentee fathers, although the reasons varied greatly. For [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] it was alcohol that took her father from her - what started as functional for an addiction spiralled shortly after she turned seven, when her father lost his job and her mom was forced to ask him to leave, as he was exposing [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] and her two siblings (her older brother who uses he/they pronouns and younger brother) to his erratic behaviour once he’d been drinking. Promises were made time and time again only to be broken: be it seeking treatment, trying to make agreed custody center visits or even sending birthday cards. Dakota’s father now lives in another state with her uncle, who managed to get him away from alcohol but by that point his children were exhausted and didn’t trust him, meaning they keep contact sparse and on their own personal terms.

For [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] it’s the broken promises she can’t get over, and she’s someone who’s become brutally honest as a failsafe to protect herself. While not as unintentionally scathing as she was known to be in middle school, [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] never minces her words and if you want advise she’ll be frank - but in return she’s exceptionally loyal once you get to know her better; which influenced her and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] rekindling their friendship after years apart when Dakota’s mom had to move her and her siblings after being offered a job promising permanent financial security. Dance was never really her thing, gymnastics was, and she’s majoring in it alongside her chosen degree of theology. Dakota’s always been fascinated by religion - in spite of being agnostic herself - and she hopes to further study mythology as a next step, both tying into her own cultural heritage and gradually exploring more of [name_u]East[/name_u] Asia’s vast array of stories. She can be a bit of a smart mouth about what she knows - inherited from her mom, she’ll add - but Dakota’s always invested in helping her classmates and acknowledges everyone’s approach has merit, even with the differences you find.

Now she’s back in the area for university, she’s reconnected with several old friends but is making new one’s too. Among them is [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] Michaelson’s older sister who’s only just began opening up to her about the stalking she endured, and [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] is going out of her way to support her, admiring her strength greatly but not patronising her or walking on eggshells. She’s also friendlier with [name_f]Mara[/name_f] now as the age gap feels less extreme due to them both having matured more, although high school drama is absolutely not what Dakota’s comfortable being involved in, so it’s a relief [name_f]Mara[/name_f] doesn’t get sucked into this.

AHHH again I forget I’m tagged in something! This is March all over again! Also @kitkatcookie that was really wholesome oh my goodness. Have MVP for this game too.

Warning for cyberbullying and cyberstalking.

Roscoe Alexei Stewart (19) is Dakota’s friend from childhood and one of the few people who stayed by Fiona as well during her childhood. Roscoe is also agnostic. He is Rho’s older brother but not the eldest sibling of his family. The eldest is actually a great friend of Rowan’s elder sister and the Michaelson, Stewart, and Henmeyer families are close. Roscoe is the brain to Roe’s brawn, with Roscoe currently studying physics. He’s a proud nerd and isn’t changing that but he doesn’t have social media due to his past of being cyberbullied. It started from people he knew pretending to like him but covering up under screen names and non-facial profile pictures. It then went to friends of those bullies joining in, to practical strangers. They told him he’d never be successful and embarrassed him if he was wrong or didn’t know something, just to make him feel stupid even if they didn’t know. They wanted him to feel like he was worthless. Roscoe blocked them but some have attempted to cyberstalk him for it, which led him to delete his accounts. It’s made Roscoe more understanding and supportive of those who have actually been stalked but also made him less trusting of other people, particularly because the original bullies online acted nice to his face. Rho’s crush on Cam is something Dakota knows that Roscoe ironically doesn’t know. Given Cam’s relationship with his girlfriend, keeping this a secret from Cam is probably the best idea. However Roscoe loves Dakota’s honesty and real personality and wishes others were more like her. She and Roscoe are very talkative about other topics like their siblings, cultures, and entertainment.

Her only other friends are the two girls she lives with in an apartment near campus and they’re all very close. She is majoring in photography and business, hoping one day to own a business herself. While she sometimes comes off as cold and unapproachable it’s only because of her anxiety. [name_f]Roz[/name_f] has been dealing with it since she was a kid and even though things have gotten much better she doesn’t exactly enjoy being around strangers or even acquaintances. Her mom, a no doubt about it extrovert, had tried to get her involved with more people but [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] prefers sticking with the friends she already has.

[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is close to her brothers and has always gotten along well with them though as a little girl she wished for a sister. Like [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u], she doesn’t know about Rho’s crush but seeing as half the time she’s completely clueless about that kind of thing it’s not surprising. [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] has had plenty people tease her about how she could not tell that her now boyfriend was head over heels in love with her so at least she’s self aware. They did eventually get together last year when he just came out and said it, leaving his and her friends relieved.

Once you get to know [name_f]Roz[/name_f] she is the funniest and most caring person you could meet. She is definitely the mom friend but will never say no to pranking someone. [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] also finds herself getting dragged out of her shell more often than not by her friends who are definitely not shy or riddled with anxiety. She doesn’t mind it though, especially since she met her boyfriend after being dragged to a party.

Despite her pranks, parties, and penchant for being late to classes she’s mostly responsible and just about everyone likes her. She’s majoring in premed and hopes to become a surgeon when she finishes school.

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is an only child but she’s extremely close to her cousin who also happens to be Roz’s boyfriend. She was the one who introduced them and was giddy when the two started dating. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is working at her aunt and uncle’s coffee shop part time with her cousin and it’s often a hotspot for their friends.

[name_m]Alistair[/name_m] [name_u]Henry[/name_u] Brookhouse (20) is Caroline’s cousin and Roz’s boyfriend - the match being a little ironic, as [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] used to be strongly opposed to any attempts by his cousin or older siblings to get him set up with anyone, until [name_f]Roz[/name_f] came into the picture. His closeness with [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], who he calls ’ [name_u]Cam[/name_u] ’ affectionately (by combining her first and middle names), stems partly from [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] being 9 years younger than his sister, and 11 years younger than his brother; so growing up, [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] was the person he had the most in common with and they’d spend hours playing together; usually imaginary games that made sense to no-one else.

Majoring in [name_f]English[/name_f] Literature, [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] absolutely loves reading, although he isn’t too sure if he’d like to become an author: something that surprises many, as he’s written dozens of short stories and poems. Instead, teaching proves more interesting to him, with writing being something he feels he’ll pursue on the side; not exactly surprising to his family, as Alistair’s been an excellent uncle to his brothers’ two young children, who consider [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] another aunt given his closeness to her. He doesn’t frequent the coffee shop as much as his mom loves to gently tease her about his relationship, and if his siblings are there he knows it’ll maximise by tenfold.

[name_m]Craig[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] Brookhouse (31) is Alistair’s older brother and eldest Brookhouse sibling. He’s a lot closer with his parents’ coffee shop as his business is right next to theirs. He’s a dentist, which not that many people like and it makes people question why he’d want to be one especially since his parents work a coffee shop and coffee is bad for teeth. Truthfully his office is a peaceful place and he’s completely understanding of people being afraid of him. They’re usually much calmer knowing [name_m]Craig[/name_m] has children because they know he cares about children too and would never try to scare or hurt them. His wife is a dental hygienist and the dentistry is co-owned by them much like the coffee shop is co-owned by Craig’s parents. Craig’s wife also has parents who co-own a business together.

He and [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] are different in age but he supports Alistair’s major and hopes he can have a good career regardless of where his writing takes him. [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] is close with his two children and they consider [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] a “cool uncle”. The way Craig’s kids love [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] and learn so much from him has pushed [name_m]Craig[/name_m] further into supporting Alistair’s dream for teaching. [name_m]Craig[/name_m] sort of knew [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] likes [name_f]Roz[/name_f] but was genuinely happy and proud when they ended up together. [name_m]Craig[/name_m] is also bonding with his younger sister, who is very successful.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] “ [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] “ Brookhouse (née Siegel) (28) is the wife of [name_m]Craig[/name_m] Brookhouse, and a trained dental hygienist. She was born in [name_u]Berlin[/name_u], [name_u]Germany[/name_u], before emigrating at 6 to loving parents who co owned a business. That was their primary source of income, and while Lottie’s upbringing wasn’t the richest, she’s very grateful for how kind her parents were and she wants to give her own children a more privileged life. [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] is one half of a set of twins- fraternal, and she grew up believing her twin was prettier than her and her parents loves her twin more- [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] found solace in intellectual activities, and was often found studying while her naturally charismatic twin would be out socializing and playing kickball. While other kids including her twin sister were terrified of the dentists office, [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] was fascinated with the models of the skull and all the tools involved with dentistry. [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] paid no interest in anything but studying and would hyperfocus on it- she was late diagnosed with mild ADHD as a teenager- which surprised her a bit. As they matured her sister grew into modeling, and [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] gave it a try too but she was just hopelessly clumsy and couldn’t do it. She was at first jealous of her sister but is now happy for her.

[name_f]Lotte[/name_f] and [name_m]Craig[/name_m] met at college- they were both studying dentistry and instantly clicked as [name_m]Craig[/name_m] and [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] had a lot of similarities. They went on dates and researched all sorts of topics related to the human teeth, calling it a study date. They were both very nerdy but they saw each other for each other- Lotte’s twin was the first person to hear about her infatuation with [name_m]Craig[/name_m] and encouraged her to pursue him. She expressed that she felt she wasn’t pretty enough for him but her twin shut that down and reassured her how beautiful she was, and [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] finally got the courage to ask [name_m]Craig[/name_m] on a date. [name_m]Craig[/name_m] proposed to her on a date at an Internet cafe and she immediately said yes. They married in Lotte’s birth town of [name_u]Berlin[/name_u], [name_u]Germany[/name_u], with her parents paying all expenses- they then decided to grow their family, and they’re happily married with children. [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] loves kids and tries to encourage kids not to be scared of dentists…though that sometimes doesn’t work out…

[name_f]Franziska[/name_f] “ [name_u]Frannie[/name_u] “ [name_f]Klaudia[/name_f] Siegel (28) is Lotte’s fraternal twin sister. She adores modeling and is close with her family, especially her parents who she still visits and eats lunch together with them every other weekend. She’s glad [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] found a career she loves and reassures [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] and [name_m]Craig[/name_m] that their children will love dentistry someday, even if she’s not quite sure of it. [name_u]Frannie[/name_u] personally respects dentists a lot seeing that her teeth are an asset to her modeling. [name_u]Frannie[/name_u] loves being a good aunt to [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] and Craig’s children and loves playing fun games with them and singing cutesy songs. [name_u]Frannie[/name_u] isn’t married nor has children but has a secret: she’s falling in love with [name_m]Craig[/name_m] and Alistair’s 29-year-old sister. For now, she doesn’t have plans to confess but she’s always secretly fallen for her but feels it would be weird since they’re in-laws. Also if she didn’t feel the same way about [name_u]Frannie[/name_u] or if they did have a relationship but broke up, it would make things more awkward for [name_m]Craig[/name_m] and [name_f]Lotte[/name_f].

[name_f]Adelheid[/name_f] [name_f]Klaudia[/name_f] “ [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] “ Brookhouse (7) is [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] and Craig’s oldest child, and the niece of [name_u]Frannie[/name_u]. Ironically, [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] hates getting her teeth checked and has severe dentophobia (or whatever it’s called lol). She loves her parents though, and feels more calm when in their presence. She looks up to her aunt and aspired to be just like her, and loves the fact that they share a middle name- [name_f]Klaudia[/name_f] is somewhat of a family name in [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] and Frannie’s family.

[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] loves playing with her little siblings and talking to them, she finds them and everything they do to be adorable and if anyone picks on them, she says she’ll “beat them up,” which her family finds adorable- they don’t know she really means it…

Heidi’s in the first grade, and she’s pretty popular with the teachers- all the teachers fawn over her good grades and sweet demeanor, but she has trouble making friends due to extreme social anxiety. Fortunately, there is one little girl who’s been coming over to play with [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] during recess and shared her lunch with her. [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] thinks she might like this girl, but she’s not too sure…

Saraswati “ Sara “ Kavya Tamboli (7) is Heidi’s recess BFF. She’s the little sister of Divya and much more louder and extroverted than her sister, but still looks up to her a lot. Maybe being the little sister of a popular girl who’s introverted deep down has made Sara more friendly to introverted people and she loves hanging out with Heidi. While Sara is from a successful family and lives in the rich neighborhood in town, she’s not spoiled and still acts like a good kid unaffected by money. She is obsessed with being famous when she grows up and would love to be famous now but doesn’t understand the high pressure with fame and is better off not being famous. She and Heidi adore hanging out with each other and meeting Heidi’s little siblings.
