Khairiah ’ [name_f]Kami[/name_f] ’ [name_f]Mariam[/name_f] (Sapar) Curio (31) is Odie’s wife, mother to their children, and acquaintance of [name_f]Juniper[/name_f] thanks to the closeness of the families since [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] and [name_f]Liz[/name_f] became a couple. Although not as outwardly humorous as her husband, Kami’s a very easygoing and optimistic person, who’s never had an issue with the cornier antics her husband gets up to. There’s never an issue of her having to take on excessive responsibilities or pressure when it comes to the important aspects of marriage, and that’s what matters most to [name_f]Kami[/name_f], as she greatly values equal partnerships in many aspects of her life.
This directly ties to her professional life, as she’s an orthodontist who has her own practice, co-run alongside one of her friends from college. They met and bonded during that has been dubbed the Group Project From Hell by [name_m]Odie[/name_m], as it was an infamously chaotic and fraught assignment [name_f]Kami[/name_f] endured in her 4th year of studying, mostly centering around personality clashes and a power struggle. Her practice co-owner was the only other person who didn’t get embroiled in the theatrics, and they pretty much kept each other sane while trying to work on something presentable for their grading. Somehow they managed it! (And [name_f]Kami[/name_f] credits [name_m]Odie[/name_m] too, as he was her soundboard for unloading about all the insanity during this time period).
Naturally considerate, [name_f]Kami[/name_f] worries about [name_f]Juniper[/name_f], on account of the pressure she knows the young woman faces but doesn’t always voice. She’s single, meaning if a pregnancy is gestating, the father isn’t someone who could be wholly relied upon, and the change in family dynamics has no doubt rocked this boat too. [name_f]Liz[/name_f] and [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] are also considering starting a family in the near future, which will further take [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] away from his sister, and it’s obvious to [name_f]Kami[/name_f] how much his support means to [name_f]Juniper[/name_f]. A similar situation happened with her younger sister, given their parents moved to another state once both daughters’ graduated college, and [name_f]Kami[/name_f] admits they’ve never been that emotionally available either.
note: [name_f]Kami[/name_f] is Brunei-American !

[name_f]Melati[/name_f] “ [name_f]Mela[/name_f] “ [name_f]Ranya[/name_f] Sapar (28) is Kami’s younger sister, who also felt like her parents weren’t emotionally available. While [name_f]Kami[/name_f] wasn’t parentified to [name_f]Mela[/name_f] in her life, [name_f]Mela[/name_f] felt [name_f]Kami[/name_f] did some things she didn’t have to do. But [name_f]Mela[/name_f] mainly blames herself for that, seeing how the Sapar parents changed the roles of the family in some sense. [name_f]Mela[/name_f] always used to look up to [name_f]Kami[/name_f] but during college, she tended to shy away and was losing that bond they had so closely in childhood. They would rekindle it, seeing [name_f]Mela[/name_f] genuinely didn’t want to have [name_f]Kami[/name_f] out of her life. She sometimes worries that maybe she wasn’t as good of a sister as she could have been to [name_f]Kami[/name_f] and she’s spent her twenties getting back to how things were before their parents moved off. [name_f]Mela[/name_f] feels [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] wouldn’t do this with [name_f]Juniper[/name_f], but agrees with [name_f]Kami[/name_f] that he and [name_f]Liz[/name_f] need their time as well and that [name_f]Juniper[/name_f] will need other people to rely on.
[name_f]Mela[/name_f] isn’t sure if Juniper’s actually pregnant, seeing [name_f]Mela[/name_f] herself has never been pregnant, though she knows from [name_f]Kami[/name_f] in a sense. She loves Kami’s kids and Odie’s photography. [name_f]Mela[/name_f] herself is an artist, preferring sketches and watercolour paintings. She loves posting these on YouTube and Instagram, though she personally feels like she’d rather be treated more as an actual artist, not just an influencer. She’s rarely collaborated with influencers and collaborates more with like-minded people. She adores art galleries and talking about art pieces with fellow artists. She takes commissions and does art trades with artists she enjoys. She gets along well with Kami’s friend and co-runner of the orthodontics, who she finds “fabulously successful” alongside her sister. She feels this friend of [name_f]Kami[/name_f] helped them through their hardships and restoration of their sisterhood. She’s not surprised [name_f]Kami[/name_f] is still friends with this person, given the sanity and reasonableness of this co-owner despite the crazies going on at The Group Project From Hell. [name_f]Mela[/name_f] hopes that Juniper’s story gets happier and less drama-filled but she never knows what the younger [name_m]Green[/name_m] is going through.

[name_m]Rowan[/name_m] [name_m]Isnin[/name_m] Curio (5) is Mela’s nephew and [name_f]Kami[/name_f] and Odie’s son. He is a playful painter and loves showing an artistic side. He is enjoying life to the fullest, surrounded by people who adore and nurture him. He loves little candies and toys.
He and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] explore in fun! He loves sleepovers and inviting friends over. He is close with all his friends and family and enjoys sharing lunch with the fellow kids. He enjoys skipping rope and balancing on the balance beam. He loves talking to people and waving.
Nevertheless, he’s closest with [name_f]Kami[/name_f]. He loves how amazing she is despite what she goes through. She is a beautiful person who’s brought herself closer to her sister [name_f]Mela[/name_f]. He enjoys his days growing up and turning 5.
He wants to paint and get into writing more. He loves dragon stories and creating his own adventures. He draws his dragons creatively and wants to have a dragon if they were real. He’s cutely unaware that fantasy is fake and lives childhood like childhood.
[name_m]Fergus[/name_m] Aizad Curio (2) is Rowan’s brother and the younger child of [name_m]Odie[/name_m] and [name_f]Kami[/name_f]. Being the baby has a lot of perks, mostly the amount of attention [name_m]Fergus[/name_m] can get from his dad, which did create some teething issues between him and his brother. Thankfully, thanks to how communicative [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] is, these didn’t become a greater issue, and the pair have a lovely relationship, largely stemming from their mutual sense of fun. [name_m]Fergus[/name_m] is a very easily amused child, and his laugh always cheers other people up, especially his big brother, with the toddler now showing active desire to amuse others in his own funny little ways.
It’s also very obvious how much [name_m]Fergus[/name_m] loves his aunts, both maternal and paternal. He’s shown an interest in the grace and flexibility of [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], as well as the creativity of [name_f]Mela[/name_f], although nothing can really rival how much exploring fascinated [name_m]Fergus[/name_m] at the moment. His favourite place to spend time is anywhere new, even ‘boring’ ones as [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] has deemed them. While his brother’s at school, [name_m]Fergus[/name_m] loves going out for wanders in the neighbourhood, primarily so he can take in new things, and [name_f]Kami[/name_f] is pretty confident that in a few years time he’ll basically be living at art galleries alongside her sister.

TW: difficult pregnancy
[name_f]Saliha[/name_f] [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] Sapar-Gillian (38) is the cousin of Rowans’ mother, [name_f]Kami[/name_f], although in his eyes she’s an extra aunt when Mela’s work has her busy, something [name_f]Saliha[/name_f] always calls an honour when it’s mentioned by another family member. And she absolutely means it! [name_f]Saliha[/name_f] loves her extended family just as much as her immediate, always trying her best to make time for everyone, and not excluding anyone (unless there’s a genuine reason of course).
Her giving nature is something her husband affectionately says makes her perfect as a special education teacher, and [name_f]Saliha[/name_f] is dedicated to her job. She mostly works with young people aged 10 - 13, and her patience is how she handles things. This was met with some doubts when she started her career by those higher up, but given time, [name_f]Saliha[/name_f] has proved herself.
Mother to a 7-year-old daughter, [name_f]Saliha[/name_f] and her husband don’t have plans on conceiving again because of how difficult pregnancy proved for [name_f]Saliha[/name_f]. She was extremely lethargic throughout her pregnancy, had a lot of trouble sleeping, experienced severe joint paints and generally didn’t have energy to do anything she’d hoped to accomplish. Having her daughter is something [name_f]Saliha[/name_f] credits to making everything worthwhile in the end, but she’s taken some time to recover, which is why adoption/fostering have also been off the table; although her daughter swears she’ll do it for her parents when she’s older!
