[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Brena[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] [Murray] Hendrickson (56) is the mother of [name_m]Martin[/name_m] and his older siblings, alongside wife of [name_m]Ellis[/name_m]. [name_f]Brena[/name_f] was always a proud supporter of [name_m]Martin[/name_m] even though she admittedly got very distraught seeing him in his impending blindness. She wanted him to succeed but couldn’t imagine being in his shoes, which made things overbearing at times in how to give support for him. She’s grateful for the therapy he’s gotten and a new motivation on life despite now losing his vision completely. [name_f]Brena[/name_f] always felt really bad considering she uses her eyes for everything, and worked a career that requires precise vision. She’s moved jobs, which [name_m]Martin[/name_m] doesn’t want to feel is “because of him”. It isn’t, Brena’s vision has declined with age despite it being incomparable to Martin’s struggles. She knows it’s her side of the family that carried retinitis pigmentosa, and feels bad, despite being aware this is nature and not nurture. Still, she’s determined to nurture.[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Brena[/name_f] is convinced her eldest child is doing something huge this year, but isn’t sure what that could mean. This happened a few years earlier when the eldest was moving to a faraway location, but this didn’t last and resulted in moving back locally. It’s not that [name_f]Brena[/name_f] doesn’t trust her children, but she’s hoping this idea works out. And she means this, because she genuinely wants her children to be happy. Brena’s always considered Martin’s best friend to be the strongest friendship of any of her children. It’s something she’s believed for a while and thankfully doesn’t see their friendship ever ending. [name_f]Brena[/name_f] is curious about Ellis’s desires in possibly changing his religion, seeing [name_f]Brena[/name_f] herself has felt she’s under-explored this. She believes in higher power, not that she’d be judgemental in those who don’t or are unsure. She’s not preachy by any means and feels it’s been too long since attending a place of worship. [name_f]Brena[/name_f] knows her children are adults and make their own religious beliefs, so it’s not something she wants to convert everyone into. In fact, she didn’t feel like speaking up on this until [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] told her. [name_f]Brena[/name_f] is very positive lately and has a hopeful outlook on life. She’s not always happy, but it’s hard for her to lose hope.
