[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] ’ [name_u]Penny[/name_u] ’ [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] [Flannigan] Piers-Flannigan (47) is Vince’s’ wife and a dedicated mum and grandma who works as a deputy head at a school designed for pre-teens and teens struggling with behavioural issues and/or their mental health. [name_u]An[/name_u] earnest, kind-hearted and friendly person, [name_u]Penny[/name_u] never shies away from expressing herself, and cried when she learned [name_f]Etta[/name_f] was named after her partially, feeling incredibly honoured. Thanks to her job, she has a similarly strong conviction to her son when it comes to treating others with empathy and understanding unless they’re exceptionally cruel, selfish and/or bigoted; having trained in youth work prior to training as a teacher when [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] started attending pre-school.
Since childhood, Penny’s had a difficult relationship with her sister [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f], something that’s followed them both into adulthood. Thanks to being the youngest, she received a lot of attention from their parents and was somewhat spoiled - something she acknowledges now, as well as how she was prone to vanity in her teens, belonging to the cheer squad and being voted as Homecoming queen in her final year of high school. In contrast, [name_u]Penny[/name_u] 's always been incredibly close to their only brother - who enjoyed similar popularity throughout high school on account of being the beloved class clown; having invited him and his family to stay following the traumatic, sudden loss of Ozzy; something that tragically helped bring her and [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] closer after years of having little contact.
Currently, Penny’s niece [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] has plans to stay with her aunt, uncle and cousins due to the hit and run driver who killed [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] having finally been identified, meaning she wants a break from all the questions directed her way.
