Create a Family With a Twist

Warning for widowing.

[name_m]Artan[/name_m] [name_m]Sproti[/name_m] [name_m]Karlssen[/name_m] (27) is [name_m]Chuma[/name_m]’s drummer and relates most with [name_f]Annie[/name_f] on the issues regarding Jenika’s sisters. [name_m]Artan[/name_m] is Faroese, being one of the Scandinavian band members, with both his parents having the culture. [name_m]Artan[/name_m] and his older sister were always support systems for their mother when she became a widow after their father’s death. He passed away from a stroke just a month before [name_m]Artan[/name_m] graduated college, so he’s always felt that pain of his father unable to see it, especially since his father was so excited to watch [name_m]Artan[/name_m] graduate. [name_m]Artan[/name_m] followed his father’s footsteps of being a drummer, having learned from him. Artan’s turned to music after his own grief and loves his place as the drummer of [name_m]Chuma[/name_m] and he’s very close with his mother, but not most of his maternal family. They keep pressuring her to remarry as if this is the answer to all her problems, even trying to set her up with other widowed people with kids, but she’s never gone for it and she’s adamant to make her own choice. [name_m]Artan[/name_m] and his sister have been the main supporters of their mother, given how much they miss their father, but also because their mother has gone through enough. She could never remarry, which seems like her main stance, and they’d still be fine.

He’s been supportive of Annie’s mother, also a single parent and relates to also having a sister. He personally feels the middle Spicer sister is being rather rude about wanting attention seeing that the wedding is about the eldest Spicer sister and her spouse-to-be, not the maid of honour. [name_u]Truth[/name_u] is, [name_m]Artan[/name_m] doesn’t even understand the difference between a bridesmaid and MOH. Does the maid of honour pay less for the wedding cost? Does she get a special dance at the wedding that bridesmaids don’t get? [name_f]Do[/name_f] these same rules apply to a Best [name_u]Man[/name_u] as opposed to a regular groomsman? Artan’s mother told him that at her wedding, there was no maid of honour or Best [name_u]Man[/name_u], just bridesmaids and groomsmen because she and her husband didn’t want to encourage favouritism. [name_m]Artan[/name_m] and his family don’t mind if other weddings have these but he feels they’re nothing more than fancy titles. He feels if the bride gave [name_f]Jenika[/name_f] the role, then the middle sibling should not try to change that. He doesn’t want the bride to be unhappy at her own wedding; after all he was unhappy at his own graduation, except in this case the unhappiness can (and should) be avoided. It helps that [name_m]Flint[/name_m] is, as [name_m]Artan[/name_m] jokes, “his rock”. [name_m]Flint[/name_m] has intrigued [name_m]Artan[/name_m] a lot about his Bulgarian culture and [name_m]Artan[/name_m] enjoys when the band goes to Bulgaria since they’re known well there. He and [name_m]Flint[/name_m] bond over different cultures of mythology and both enjoy Mara’s designs. He finds Flint’s two nephews to be great boys and enjoys their positive energy. [name_m]Artan[/name_m] feels [name_m]Flint[/name_m] is also a dependable person when he has something he wants to talk about and knows [name_m]Flint[/name_m] wouldn’t judge him no matter what. [name_m]Artan[/name_m] has a good relatable bond with the last band member as well, the other Scandinavian, and they get so happy to tour their homelands.
