He and his wife had a rocky marriage after their daughter moved out and constantly separated and reconciled over the decades, eventually living in different houses. Despite their separation and distance, they never legally divorced and many believe she just wanted to stay with him for the money. In his will, he left 65% of his inheritance money to his daughter to help her manage her condition, 20% to [name_f]Danni[/name_f] when she needs funding to get her through school, and 10% to [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Angie[/name_f] which they may claim when they turn 18. This only left 5% to his estranged wife, much to her anger.

Michael Nicholas Roebling “Mickey” (18) is Angie’s boyfriend that her parents don’t quite approve of. He doesn’t really care what other people think of him, in real life anyway. He has a prolific instagram account which he is consumed by and very concerned about. He and Angie love to feature each other on their feeds. He likes skating and partying with friends, which Angie’s parents really don’t like. Mickey secretly hopes to be offered a modelling contract so he can get out of his hometown.

The gang got [name_m]Luis[/name_m] to change himself, change what he wore, who he dated, even where he lived (leading him to move out from his parents ) He began to abuse substances and suddenly his life was a trainwreck, and controlled by these awful gang leaders. One of the main good things he had in his life was his girlfriend, [name_f]Titania[/name_f], who broke up with him after all of the gang business, so one of his main confidants had left him. He has 4 siblings, all younger than him, who don’t understand what he is going through at all.
Titania Murcie Reyes “Ania” (20) is Luis’ ex-girlfriend, and happily so. She was originally going to go to a local college to stay close to Luis, but once she saves up enough money, she is going to go as far away as she can. She still hasn’t figured out what degree she wants, which is a little frustrating for her, but at least her family isn’t pressuring her into any specific career.
Her middle name honors both of her parents: Murray and Cecilia, who grew up in poverty and never quite managed to get out of it due to some struggles with their mental and physical health. They both feel guilty for how much she’s needed to take care of them, and it’s been tough for her, but they’re all each other has, and their love is deep.
Since high school, Ania has worked as an assistant for a family friend who runs a law firm, and she volunteers on the weekend at a homeless shelter. She gets some funny looks and some pleasant smiles for her unisex wardrobe, but she could really care less what people think.

This admittedly draws her to dysfunctional personalities now she’s older, wanting to help and protect other’s from going down the same path her parents did. She has sparse contact with her mother even now, thanks to her facing continuing struggles [name_f]Dita[/name_f] tries to not get sucked into, knowing it’ll merely be a road to distress and resentment thanks to being let down constantly while she was in care. Thanks to facing this, [name_f]Dita[/name_f] always tries her best to emphasise how Luis’s family are feeling, hoping his love for his siblings will help get him out of his predicament.
Dita’s therapist isn’t approving of her association with [name_m]Luis[/name_m] but she’s determined to help him somehow, generally being dismissed by the gang who consider her no true threat based on her own trauma. She’s used to people looking down on her - suspecting [name_f]Titania[/name_f] feels this way based on the few times they’ve run into each other - and this has allowed [name_f]Dita[/name_f] to develop thick skin, even though she’s an introverted person unless in a one-on-one environment. In spite of coming across quite dour, Dita’s kindness and compassion aren’t inhibited by people sharing the issues her parents did, and she’s very close with several of the other young people who grew up in the same placement home as her. Currently she’s planning on studying to become a counselor specialising in foster care placements, wanting to help those placed in the same predicament as her - but models for independent online businesses in the meantime to support herself.
