Livanova “Livvy” Anastasia Volkov-Branick (7) is Mabels’ best friend and the daughter of Avra’s sister, Oktaviya “Tavi.” Tavi was in a relationship with a man named Luka Branick, and Livvy was accidentally conceived. Livvy has led a rough life, and has experienced some neglect from her mother.
Tavi doesn’t want Uriel to know about Livvy’s existence. Even her own sister, Avra, has only met Livvy once or twice. Tavi is determined to keep Livvy out of her family life because she wants to shield her loved ones from the complexities of her past. Unfortunately, this has a negative effect on Livvy. She’s often left home alone for many hours at a time while Tavi is with Uriel or at her part-time job.
Livvy has been forced to mature quickly, but she possesses an uncommon resilience for her age. She has a very curious and independent nature. Although she is not as innocent as any of her friends, she’s already become a determined individual. She has a fascination with nature, often using her freedom to explore the outdoors. She loves to spend time at Mabel’s house reading and acting out mysteries and detective stories or playing in the backyard.
Livvy visits her dad, Luka, and younger half-sister a couple times a month. He lives two hours away and hasn’t fought for any legal custody over her, but Tavi is willing to let someone else provide for her daughter whenever possible. Deep down, Tavi loves her daughter. But times are tough and she is barely able to provide. Livvy’s biggest dream is to live with her dad one day… even if it means saying bye to Mabel.
