Agnessa Giulia Pierluigi (16) is known to Lilith but not in the best way…she’s the girl Lilith’s ex cheated on her with! She and her family emigrated from Vatican City and while her parents spoke English, Agnessa spoke Italian. She was homeschooled where her classes were in Italian, but she’s considering fame as a stage actress and opera singer. However her parents wanted her to still be able to interact with others despite the language barrier so they enrolled her for singing. This is where she became an up-and-coming singer and has sang some songs in English. There was a small controversy when someone online roasted her for “not writing her own songs”. Turns out Agnessa did write lyrics, but these were translated in English by a translator. Often times for interviews and awards, Agnessa would have a translator listen to her and translate the message back in English, then tell her in Italian what the message meant. However she was somewhat controversial with another singer when she saw that other singer’s makeup bag and took it, which was believed to be because of the designer’s Italian surname on it.

Despite Agnessa not speaking English, she did enjoy Halloween and loved scary stuff. She lived by some fun neighbours who made a haunted house every Halloween and also liked to visit the haunted corn maze. Even if people didn’t speak her native language, they still felt her vibe. They ask, “Hey Agnessa, how did you like it?” Agnessa just nodded and said nothing. Once before a haunted house opened, Agnessa didn’t read the English sign saying when it opened and walked in. Someone shrieked, “I’m trapped in the basement! If someone’s there, help me out!” Agnessa screamed words in Italian and walked away, starting to run away with a terrified look on her face. Maybe she should visit that haunted house later. Thankfully when it opened days later, the owner trapped in the basement was freed. She bonded well with Liv despite barely speaking to her simply by feeling her surfer girl vibe. When she had a thing for Lilith’s then-boyfriend, he knew she only spoke Italian. So he figured he could take advantage and two-time Lilith for Agnessa and Agnessa wouldn’t know since she didn’t understand English. Lilith saw him one day speaking very specific and descriptive vocabulary words to Agnessa, as if he took a thesaurus and used the most obscure synonyms for common words. Did he think she’d know them? Of course not!

Agnessa and Lilith’s boyfriend had a relationship but she didn’t feel that close to him. He didn’t feel that close to her either, whenever they went out on dinner dates or movie dates, she would eat most of his food. At this point, Lilith had happily moved on with another boyfriend. Lilith didn’t know what to think of Agnessa but Lilith’s boyfriend didn’t trust her. Lilith wanted to distrust Agnessa for dating her previous boyfriend but took pity that she didn’t understand English and was likely being taken advantage of. Lilith asked Agnessa what she thinks of it but Agnessa didn’t say anything. Lilith reluctantly understood that it was because she was speaking English to Agnessa but secretly wondered whether Agnessa would have learned English if she had studied it. One day Agnessa and her boyfriend had split and Agnessa was angered. Lilith’s current boyfriend asked Agnessa what was wrong before realising she wouldn’t understand him. However he managed to make sure Agnessa knew that her boyfriend was a fraud all along, especially how her boyfriend treated Lilith. Agnessa leaned over and gave Lilith’s current boyfriend a kiss. He freaked out a little bit and moved away from Agnessa, “Look, I don’t think you understand but I have a girlfriend and unlike some people, I’m not going to cheat on her!” Agnessa said, “Oh? So be it!” Lilith’s boyfriend said, “Wait, you know English?” Agnessa says, “Yep, always have. But people don’t have to know that and so they won’t.” This means the entire time Agnessa could speak English and knew what everyone was saying…and knowingly flirted with two men Lilith has dated in her life.

Growing up, if [name_u]Jace[/name_u] had something, [name_f]Agnessa[/name_f] would almost certainly want it: material or sentimental value made no difference, it was just the fact her sister had something that seemed to cause her to decide she needed it immediately. Their parents typically ended up keeping the girls’ apart - a sad irony given they had a second child out of the fear [name_u]Jace[/name_u] would feel lonely - because of this cycle of antagonism, and it only ended when [name_f]Agnessa[/name_f] was a little older, seemingly past this phase of behaviour. Unlike her sister, [name_u]Jace[/name_u] actually attended school - St. Teresa’s Academy: an all-girls private institute- which was something she pushed for, not wanting to be socially isolated following the family’s move. Her parents acquiesced when they felt she was confident enough in [name_f]English[/name_f] and it was the right decision, as [name_u]Jace[/name_u] loved the diverse environment, with her background naturally drawing intrigue from the other students and allowing her to form a friendship group quickly. She suspected [name_f]Agnessa[/name_f] held some envy towards this - [name_u]Jace[/name_u] was always a bit more cynical than their parents about her change in behaviour - but it thankfully didn’t erupt into anything worse.

For their differences, [name_u]Jace[/name_u] does admit her sister’s talented, and this is what frustrates her the most about Agnessa’s behaviour: she has the ability and resources to go far, but cannot respect other people’s boundaries and always wants what others have. Because [name_u]Jace[/name_u] was increasingly wrapped up in her social life - as well as attending photography shoots with their father - and her studies [not that academics were ever her favourite thing, but the contrast helped her enjoy arts even more so she’s grateful for the learning curve]; she was oblivious to Agnessa’s lie about not being able to speak [name_f]English[/name_f], something she would have found laughable given she very much saw how fluent her sister is. There was an incident when she was 16 and [name_f]Agnessa[/name_f] 14, when one of her favourite cardigans disappeared and [surprise surprise] was found a few weeks later in one of her sister’s bags. A huge row erupted between the pair - with [name_u]Jace[/name_u] outright accusing [name_f]Agnessa[/name_f] of stealing it, while the younger girl insisted it was merely misplaced as they had similar styles at the time - and while their mother managed to calm things down, [name_u]Jace[/name_u] never believed the explanation given. She also still feels [name_f]Agnessa[/name_f] hadn’t let go of her need to take what meant something to others, which wasn’t entirely inaccurate given the boyfriend situation with [name_f]Lilith[/name_f].

Her parents have wholeheartedly supported this - not that she was expecting otherwise given how accommodating they’ve always been - and, for how she feels they’re too soft on [name_f]Agnessa[/name_f] [when she behaves poorly or lies to skate consequences], she loves them unconditionally and knows they’ve always got their hearts in the right place. Frequently travelling to attend catwalk shows or shoots, [name_u]Jace[/name_u] is actually in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] a lot of the time right now, typically staying with extended family or old friends while there; however she always is back at home for special occasions and her birthday’s. One of her friends - a makeup artist - has been teaching her crochet and [name_u]Jace[/name_u] is crafting a hat for her dad’s upcoming business trip to Finland as a token of affection. In turn she’s been teaching them how to make beaded accessories, a trick her mother introduced her to and she’s never abandoned her passion for it.

Milana Vincenza Pierluigi (44) is Jace and Agnessa’s mother who is a stage actress. She’s good at calming but is naive of Agnessa and knows she speaks some English but doesn’t know she’s fluent. Like Jace and Agnessa, Milana also has a sister who is famous and is acting in the movie Lincoln and Knox are working on. Milana’s sister emigrated before she did and was always better at English than she was but she still loved her sister and wished Jace and Agnessa were closer, but doesn’t get the reasoning. Milana is admittingly a fan of the famous Wareham family and she loves reading about famous family lines. She’s not as Italian as her husband and is more Vatican although they both originated in Vatican City.

While Milana misses Jace when she’s away, she often visits and loves how Jace has made herself a star abroad. She’s always welcoming to teach Jace her styles of beading and to use them in accessories. Milana and her sister adore Jace’s fashion sense and always want to see her styles. She adores how Jace is helping her father, Milana’s husband, as well and still hasn’t understood why Jace hasn’t had the closeness with her sister. It’s also something she asks of Agnessa but Agnessa hides behind excuses. Milana doesn’t know too much of Agnessa’s love life but knows she’s still dating Lilith’s ex while Lilith is with her own boyfriend. Agnessa’s said she really wants to date a teen movie star who is in the same movie with her maternal aunt and would dump her boyfriend if this other dude even crossed paths with her once. She doesn’t even like him for his looks, personality, or talent but she wants him because she always wants what she can’t have and she can’t have him because he’s always super busy. Milana doesn’t take this seriously since she never does and is currently focusing on her stage acting career and making time for her husband.

She knows she wants to study cosmetology- [name_m]Chess[/name_m] wants to launch her own all-inclusive makeup line and promote it through her TikTok. She’s already fluent in Italian through Duolingo and other language learning platforms- but none of her family has picked up on this because she’s purposefully kept it secret. Horror has always been something Cecile’s enthused about, not exactly a surprise given her mother’s a cinematographer who’s worked primarily in the genre her daughter loves so much, with it arguably being a bonding point across the whole family [Cecile affectionately credits it as the reason [name_f]Drea[/name_f] came to form such a good relationship with her stepmother]. However, what [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] really wants is to become a screenwriter and author of horror, frequently penning her own stories about ghosts and urban legends, starting when she was very young. Goosebumps books were as precious as gold as far as she was concerned, something that led to her bonding with her best friend who was likewise just as dedicated to Pokemon cards and battling using her DS. [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] isn’t much of a gamer unless it’s a horror or mystery, as she admits to having a lot of natural curiosity - something her parents attest to, as she was always pestering them with questions growing up [which did have success for [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] - it led to her pet cat [name_f]Pixie[/name_f] being adopted for her 10th birthday, something she’s always been incredibly grateful for] - and loves to investigate whatever intrigues her; be it an old school tale or alleged supernatural sighting.

A lot of her friends enjoy rollerblading too, and Cecile’s not personally as into it, but she’s often going to the rink with them because of how dear they are to her. Her other main pastime is watching documentaries or attending plays with her mom, who she’s always adored and shared a special closeness with; painting her nails when she wants to relax, a habit [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] began when she was a kid. Curtis “ Curt ” Tyler Mars (16) is Cecile’s best friend and Lilith’s boyfriend. He is a second-cousin of Lincoln and Destiny. He’s a YouTuber, with most of his videos being dance videos but a lot of videos often star his dog Paco. He’s a huge fan of rollerblading and loves to hang out with Cecile, Lilith, and their friends. Cecile is strictly just a friend of his, given his love for Lilith and his distrust for Agnessa. He never loved or trusted her and was genuinely shocked when she spoke English to him. Cecile hasn’t seen her speak English and given her ways of creepy realisations she responded, “I hope she really isn’t that fluent at English, because if she is, then she really let someone stay trapped in a basement for days and didn’t help.” Curt finds that really messed up and he’s surprised too and he credits Cecile for being so smart. Curt, Lilith, and Cecile love horror movies and other scary things and Curt loves ghosts.

He’s also heard about the Grey Pearl Theatre, infamous for being the place comedian Beck Upton died, but also known for having several other people die there. The first people to die there were actually two people at the same time. It was one of the people who built it, who abruptly lost his life falling from the roof and landing on a woman below, killing them both. The original building was unstable due to it being built around World War II and many of the better materials were rationed at the time. It’s been remodeled a few times but the remodels haven’t stopped the curse. A singer died there after the first remodel after having a stroke and falling off the stage into the audience. An elderly pipe organ player played an eerie tune before collapsing of a heart attack. Some actors put on a play there and an ensemble cast member fainted and died of heart failure and the act was finished by the other actors but everyone knew that actor died on stage. People always asked why the Grey Pearl Theatre was never closed down but that was because the people running the theatre insisted that it was safe and not responsible for the performers’ deaths and the first two people who died were just victims of an unlucky freak accident. People often knew about the original owner of Grey Pearl Theatre and the theatre being passed down. In 1973, the original owner, now an elderly man, passed away in the theatre backstage after the performances that night ended and he was thanking the audience for coming. Nobody had died in the decades passing so everyone assumed his death was what it had to take for the curse to be broken. However when Beck Upton died accidentally in the theatre in 2012, it put people through fear that the curse was really back, especially since Beck did pass away unnaturally and unsafely. Theorists claim that having the curse dormant for so long was another considerable reason why nobody thought the death was real, especially since Beck wasn’t even born yet in 1973, being born a decade later. It’s been considered cursed by both Curt and Cecile and both find the curses spooky and crazy, fearing it could very well happen again. Curt has wanted to be a singer but insists he’ll never perform at Grey Pearl Theatre. His friend group truthfully says the same.

He’s also getting into singing although he’s nervous and doesn’t feel he will “make it” as a solo singer even if he’s not in the cursed theatre. He does have a nice voice and writes great lyrics and a lot of it has been inspired by his great-grandfather, also the great-grandfather he shares with Lincoln and Destiny. Curt has never met his great-grandfather but knows he was a famous singer way back when and used his money and fame to support his family and give them a better life so they wouldn’t have to suffer during the Great Depression. Sometime during the 1950s, he was on a yacht taking a vacation and he never came back. The yacht would end up being recovered about 2 decades later, but he was never found. It’s been a crazy family mystery about his disappearance and presumed death. It’s believed he would be dead anyway since he would be unrealistically old if he was still alive but there’s beliefs that he died later than the 1950s. There’s theories he was spotted in a small Paraguayan city in the late 1960s and claims he was still alive throughout many years in the late twentieth century. There’s even suspected photos of him although he looked much different and had thick facial hair, which he never had during his career. Nothing can be proven that it was really him however. Cecile is Curt’s main person he talks to about this given the horror and urban legends and the two are even planning to summon him via séance.

Due to the nine year age gap between [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] and her cousin they didn’t hang out much growing up but became closer in adulthood. [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] was [name_u]Lincoln[/name_u] and Destiny’s babysitter when they were little and she’s extremely proud of the people they’ve become. [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] never met her grandfather since she was born twenty-two years after his disappearance but was told countless stories by her dad and uncle. [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] doesn’t believe in curses, hates all things horror related, and is a staunch unbeliever in the paranormal. Yet somehow she had a son who likes all those things. She thinks it’s hilarious and doesn’t mind that [name_m]Curt[/name_m] is interested in those things but still keeps firm in not liking any of that stuff. Hazel’s husband isn’t into things like that either but is a great listener whenever [name_m]Curt[/name_m] wants to talk about it. [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] and her husband have two other children, both of whom are adults now. Their oldest recently graduated college and is back home while looking for a job. The middle child is 19 and is living at home as well but plans to move out soon. [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] is happy to have all her kids under the same roof again and tries to do as much as she can with them. She is very supportive of Curt’s relationship with [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] and she’s invited her over for dinner a few times. [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] likes her and thinks she’s a great girl. [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] has always been supportive of her kids’ relationships. She promises to not make a big deal out of it when she gets to meet their partners but ends up making a huge deal and absolutely gushing. [name_u]Trace[/name_u] has been openly gay since he was 12 but didn’t get into watching drag until his teenage years and is relatively new to being a drag queen himself. [name_u]Trace[/name_u] uses he/they pronouns while the [name_f]Angelise[/name_f] character uses she/her. While [name_u]Trace[/name_u] still lives with [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], he’s planning to move out and make it big in his career and enjoys living so close to Hollywood for that reason. He doesn’t have a boyfriend but he and the eldest sibling are still very supportive of [name_m]Curt[/name_m] and [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] together. [name_u]Trace[/name_u] isn’t really a believer of the paranormal although he’s open if there was a surefire way to know it existed. He used to be completely uncertain whether the [name_u]Grey[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] Theatre was a deadly cursed theatre when he was 12 and walking home from school. He needed to go to the bathroom and that was the closest place with a bathroom was the [name_u]Grey[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] Theatre. Right before leaving, he sneezed and ran super fast away from the theatre. A 9-year-old [name_m]Curt[/name_m] said, “Good thing you left! You could have died in that theatre if you stayed any second longer!” [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] responded, “Curt, stop scaring your brother, it’s just a sneeze.” As for yachts, he’s not afraid of them and was on one with friends after prom but he still questions the strength of said boats and wouldn’t take it so far out in the ocean if he had a yacht and boating licence. [name_u]Trace[/name_u] has always respected [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] and believed her to be a very intelligent woman.

[name_u]Dana[/name_u] [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_u]Mars[/name_u] (23) is Hazel’s eldest child, who’s just graduated from college with her degree in history. Although [name_u]Dana[/name_u] knows she wants to pursue a bachelor’s degree - specifying in the 16-18th centuries - she doesn’t feel ready to go back into the heavy environment of university without giving herself a break and settling into a more low-key way of life for a while. Dana’s worked as a waitress and in retail while gaining her degree, however she’d like to move away from anything too people centered, as she really can’t be bothered enduring the ridiculous antics these experiences have given her. She’s looking into working in accounting or administration, however as of now it’s still the hunting period, as [name_u]Dana[/name_u] has admittedly been facing a lot of exhaustion now she’s gotten her degree. While she’s pleased to have completed college - doing very well in the process and dampening her own perfectionist tendencies to self-criticise - she really doesn’t want to fall back into the brushes with imposter syndrome she’s faced, and is incredibly grateful for her mom, who’s been wholeheartedly supportive of [name_u]Dana[/name_u] taking things slower. Her college was an hours drive away - almost two hours on the train, which [name_u]Dana[/name_u] took to and fro, unless she needed to move her belongings - so she wasn’t seeing as much of her family as she would’ve liked as work intensified, but has maintained closeness with both of her brothers, always keeping up-to-date with their ongoings [and yes, [name_m]Curt[/name_m] has received the obligatory big sister teasing about his relationship].

Given how studies dominated Dana’s years in education, she was never the most popular person, being considered a bit neurotic about exams as she frequently strives to outdo herself. She did belong to the hockey team and had a close circle of friends, but didn’t enjoy stepping outside the group much thanks to how she felt a little intimidated approaching new people: [name_u]Dana[/name_u] was fully aware of her perception among her peers and it did stunt her confidence a little. Through college she has blossomed more socially, becoming more confident with her sense of humour, and she’s killer when it comes to her in-jokes among those who know her well. She’s also recently become more into experimenting with hairstyling and makeup, interests that used to play second fiddle to her sports, academics and absolute devotion to old arcade games, something [name_u]Dana[/name_u] strongly associates with her childhood, frequently going to play such games with her brothers and absolutely losing herself in the sibling competitive spirit.

[name_u]Dana[/name_u] returned with a new partner in crime too: her house rabbit, Caramel. She absolutely adores her little furry friend and has been delighted to see her family take so well to her, as she was a little worried her mom wouldn’t be impressed with another house guest accompanying [name_u]Dana[/name_u]. Growing up there were no pets because [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] simply didn’t have time - and whole they protested, the kids weren’t prepared for such a responsibility - however she was very happy to receive Caramel alongside her daughter. [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f] comes from a very loving family. Though they get on her nerves sometimes she’s close to them all. Her mom is Spanish and her dad is Italian. She has five older siblings, two sisters and three brothers, the oldest being 31. Her parents have a theme with their children’s names, though none of them have been able to figure out if it was accidental or purposeful. All the girls have Spanish first names and all the boys have Italian last names. They’ve always loved it and growing up instead of girls against boys it was Spain against [name_f]Italy[/name_f]. The Carrera family was relatively well off though they weren’t rich. [name_m]Even[/name_m] so, Mercedes’ second oldest sibling didn’t feel like it was enough and started getting in with a bad crowd as a teen. They left the house as soon as they turned 18 and did a lot of bad things that ultimately put them in jail five years ago. [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f] sometimes finds her mom looking at old pictures of that sibling and she can’t believe her sibling could hurt their parents like that.

She plans to open a business in a year or two and hopes everything works out. The house has been abuzz with excitement the last few months as one of her sisters is getting married. [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is a florist, and she’s very passionate about plants and gardening. She’s insistent that wherever she and [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f] end up living, they must have plenty of room for her plant babies to grow and thrive.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] today, she would tell you that she has no friends and doesn’t need any, but she secretly considers one of her coworkers her best and only friend. Despite this, she enjoys her family’s presence around her, and she’s happy that her older sister is getting married, even though she declined to be a bridesmaid herself.

In addition to gardening, [name_f]Lola[/name_f] also enjoys cooking and baking, and whenever you step into her home, you are more often than not going to be greeted with some sort of delicious smell. She especially likes connecting with her parents cultures through cooking, so she usually likes to make a Spanish or Italian dish.

What led to the pair bonding is their mutual introversion, neither [name_f]Lola[/name_f] or [name_f]Mira[/name_f] are that interested in socialising, and it ironically drew them together, as they always gave one another space, something that stood out in comparison to their gregarious, friendly colleagues. [name_f]Mira[/name_f] doesn’t resent or look down on anyone she works with for their personality differences - in fact she admires those around her’s ability to be so engaging and warm - but her social anxiety makes emulating this impossible, and it’s something she’s come to terms with. Diagnosed at 15, [name_f]Mira[/name_f] experienced a terrible series of panic attacks over a couple of months - becoming very overwhelmed by these symptoms and developing borderline agoraphobia to avoid potential triggers - which she’s opened up to only a few people about: [name_f]Lola[/name_f] knows because of their closeness, as does her boss in case Mira’s anxiety becomes pronounced at work and she needs some space. Her main confidante is her mother though: a single parent who raised [name_f]Mira[/name_f] and her older half-brother with little assistance and a great deal of scrutiny, living in a small-town where such households were looked upon with particular scorn. Mira’s father actually had a failed vasectomy - being comfortable with a stepson, but not wanting any biological children [as he hated feeling ‘tethered’ to others on account of his childhood in foster care] - and her mom falling pregnant was something he absolutely couldn’t handle, almost immediately walking away from the family when this happened. She only learned of this when she was 17, as her mom and brother didn’t want her to blame herself for the heartache this caused, and [name_f]Mira[/name_f] admits she sometimes does fall back into feeling misplaced guilt, but she’s getting better at handling this.

Alongside her love of plants - actually knowing the language of flowers and their symbolic meanings, which has led to her doing a lot of customised work - Mira’s mad about animals. Rather sweetly, and with the revelation they’re expecting a little girl, Mira’s brother has insisted on giving his daughter a floral name - as his sister designed a special bouquet when he and his partner celebrated their most recent anniversary - and following the [name_m]Newport[/name_m] tradition, it’s going to be a fairly unusual, bold choice to help Mira’s niece feel like an individual; endorsed by her mom, who has a fairly common name and wants her children to take after their father in this sense.

A major event recently has been Mira’s father making contact with her out of the blue. Having been curious about his stepson and daughter following the breakup - and subsequent vanishing - their distinctive names made them easy to find, which is something [name_f]Mira[/name_f] feels thrown off about. She’s talked to [name_f]Lola[/name_f] extensively about this, not wanting to drag her mom or brother further into the already difficult situation, as well as a few other friends she has from high school [two of whom she met because they were all diagnosed with anxiety and came to bond over their experiences]. While [name_f]Mira[/name_f] wants to be forgiving - especially more than her brother who’s impending fatherhood has made him much more hostile and aggravated - she can’t help feel resentment and wants her dad to understand he can’t just expect them to accept him back into the fold thanks to how he handled something beyond their mom’s control. At first it was assumed he’d give up quickly, but his persistence has worsened things in a sense it seems more sincere, which is an outcome no-one has been prepared for. The timing’s also proved very awkward, as Mira’s recently began a tentative relationship with someone she attends yoga classes with - they’re genderfluid and use they/he pronouns - and she’s scared of putting too much on her significant other too soon into being together; a palpable fear thanks to how understanding and supportive they’ve always been of her nervous tendencies. She’s very grateful for [name_f]Lola[/name_f] during this time, as their friendship is a rock amidst all the chaos and changes, something [name_f]Mira[/name_f] completely needs and appreciates, having some plans for a mini road trip as a means of thanking [name_f]Lola[/name_f] for all she’s done.

[name_m]Born[/name_m] to a bit of an ‘unusual’ family she was raised on a multi-generational style living arrangement where her, her parents and siblings, all lived in the same home as her grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins as one big family. The house was on a large plot of land and was plenty big enough so it never felt too cramped with all those people, however [name_f]Heather[/name_f] never minded the closeness, she considers her cousins to effectively be siblings as well as is still very close with them even though they have since all moved across the country, with a few of them even moving away to Europe and one to [name_f]Africa[/name_f].

She followed their passion of cooking and baking with their grandmother and cousins and ended up attending both culinary and pastry school in lieu of college where she learned that the label of non-binary and she/they pronouns resonated more with them. Her coming out was well received by the majority of her family thankfully though it wasn’t a huge change as they still greatly enjoys femininity and continues to identify with many aspects of womanhood, though not all. After school they ended up getting a job at a bakery where they met their current partner.

He kept coming into her workplace and ordering the same thing every single day, a raspberry scone. They always had pleasant conversations every morning that slowly turned from friendly into more flirtatious and eventually during one chat they asked where he worked. Slightly embarrassed, he revealed that he used to work up the street but after receiving a promotion a few months ago now worked across down but detoured his commute to continue to see her since he had kind of developed a crush on her. That night they went on a date that started their relationship and have since been together for three years.

Their anniversary was about four months ago, her partner had a romantic dinner planned, with Mira’s bouquet and some raspberry scones of course, where he had intended to surprise her with a proposal. Turns out they had a surprise in store as well, announcing her pregnancy before he could take the ring out. Though once the couple’s excitement had settled she did say ‘yes’ later that night after dinner. It wasn’t according to his plan but the two of them still ended up with a very memorable start to their engagement.

They excitedly agreed to their partner’s idea of giving their daughter a floral name, particularly a unique one. She finds it uniquely fitting for a number of reasons, including how her own name is by technicality a plant as well. The couple is currently favoring either [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] or [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] with [name_f]Diane[/name_f] as a middle name since it’s family name for both sides of the upcoming baby’s family.

She has always wanted to have kids, particularly with her fiancé since she knows he’ll be as amazing a father as he is a partner (and brother as she learned through meeting Mira) and was ecstatic to find out about their pregnancy. Despite her gender identity they don’t mind the moniker of ‘mom’ or ‘mother’ or any of the other traditionally female aspects that comes with having a baby. Though this has lead them to butt heads a little with a formerly very close friend of theirs who finds their embracing of the femme aspects of pregnancy to be ‘giving in’ to traditional gender roles. Which has caused their friendship to drift as her pregnancy progressed.

She’s not as close with [name_f]Mira[/name_f] as she is with her brother but they do think of her as a little sister without trying to be too overbearing or coming on too strong since she knows that [name_f]Mira[/name_f] can be anxious at times and would hate to exacerbate that at all. The two of them also find it a little funny that both of the [name_m]Newport[/name_m] siblings ended up with genderqueer partners.

She tries to reassure [name_f]Mira[/name_f] when she can, they did end up hearing about Mira’s father contacting her again by accident when she overheard [name_f]Mira[/name_f] on the phone with their friend while she was dropping something off for her brother at the home that the couple share, unknown to her that they were relaxing on the couch just out of sight. They offered a bit of advice on the situation by expressing how connection to family is important to them, but acknowledged the hurt that her father had caused her and her brother, eventually urging her to make her own decision in the end. As well as promising that they wouldn’t tell their partner.

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] [name_f]Tourmaline[/name_f] [name_u]Roy[/name_u] (31) is an older cousin of [name_f]Heather[/name_f], who currently resides in Cape Town, [name_u]South[/name_u] [name_f]Africa[/name_f]. She moved when she got a scholarship to the University of Cape Town- [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] has always demonstrated academic excellence and was over the moon when she received her scholarship. She doesn’t like living far away from her siblings and cousins, but she’s gotten used to only doing video calls with them. [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] is planning to travel back to the US to meet Heather’s baby and just to see [name_f]Heather[/name_f] in general- [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] misses them so much and wants to spend time with them. [name_f]Heather[/name_f] was like a little sibling to [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], and [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] being a very naturally overprotective person would shield [name_f]Heather[/name_f] from anyone who ever tried to mess with her.

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] has children with her husband- she met him at university and is now married to him. Her children are 8 and 7, and she adores both of them. She’s a doctor, more specifically a neurosurgeon. Her parents weren’t nearly as financially successful as her- her father was a plumber and chauffeur (he worked two jobs, along with taking up any odd jobs along the way) and her mother would stay at home and watch over her, her siblings and her cousins. They weren’t poor- they actually had their honeymoon in [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], [name_f]Austria[/name_f] and named their oldest daughter after their honeymoon. [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] hopes to visit her namesake someday, but she unfortunately never has- however shes hoping to make time for it after her trip back to the US.

Additionally, [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] has lots of pets- two twin sister cats named [name_u]London[/name_u] and [name_u]Paris[/name_u] and a Husky / Samoyed named [name_m]Oslo[/name_m]. [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] wanted to name her kids after places too but her husband said no, much to her chagrin- so she settled for just the pets. Vienna’s very happy with her kids- she loves them, though they both have their struggles. The oldest has a terrible case of social anxiety that causes them to seldom ever talk, and the youngest has ADHD and is an oversharer who often says too much that they can’t control and has many “odd” hyperfixations that make making friends hard. Luckily, [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] has a therapist for both of them, and she’s very grateful that she has such wonderful kids. She’s also happy that she has such a great husband who’s so supportive and kind.

[name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_m]Kavanaugh[/name_m] [25] is another of the many cousins of [name_f]Heather[/name_f] and [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], specifically the one who moved away to Europe. She loved growing up in a multigenerational household, there was always someone to play with or help her with her homework, but by the time she finished high school and was preparing go to college she was ready for a little alone time where she could find her identity outside of her family.

She majored in [name_f]English[/name_f] Literature inspired her childhood love of reading fairytales and other stories as a child sparked by some of her older cousins reading to her or making up their own stories to tell her and their younger cousins. After graduating college she wanted to take her independence a step further and moved to [name_u]France[/name_u] to study abroad for her master’s program.

While in [name_u]Paris[/name_u] she’s been working as an ESL teacher but she’s also been working on writing a storybook of her own original fairytales in her off time. She’s planning on giving her first draft to [name_f]Heather[/name_f] and her fiancé to read to their upcoming daughter since she values their feedback so much as well as wanting to live up to her creative reputation in the family and give an original gift to her cousin like she has with their other cousins when they had children of their own. Like [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] she’s planning on coming to visit [name_f]Heather[/name_f] when the baby gets here.

Though she does love her family and the connection she has to them she’s developed a little chosen family of her own in [name_u]Paris[/name_u]. She has a group of other expats from various countries that meet up for brunch or dinner at least once a week if not more. They also come together for movie nights where they show each other different picks from their respective home countries. Sybil’s most recent pick for movie night was Knives Out which was well received by her friends.

She’s also recently been on a few dates with a friend of one of her friends. They’re a fashion photography student and on one of the new couple’s recent dates they took photos of [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] that actually came out pretty good despite her lack of confidence in her ability to model. With her permission they’re planning on submitting them for an upcoming project.

[name_u]Grayson[/name_u] [name_u]William[/name_u] [name_u]Roy[/name_u] (30) is [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] and Sybil’s cousin who sees them both the most frequently, being the older brother of [name_f]Heather[/name_f], who works as a mechanical engineer - specialising in hydrology, as part of a company set on making more environmentally friendly power accessible. Whenever Grayson’s in the vicinity of a family member, he tries his best to make time for a visit, although it varies depending on the project he’s involved in. He was always considered one of the quieter kids in the household: content to get on with building lego sets or doodling inventions, many of which were based around helping make animals lives easier - as the only thing [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] loved as much as figuring out how to construct and assemble a variety of kits.

There were a few pets about the household - [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] the Old [name_f]English[/name_f] Sheepdog [a retired guide dog] and two snails, [name_m]Flash[/name_m] and [name_m]Quicksilver[/name_m] - but this was kept more constrained by the adults given they didn’t want things to become too chaotic. [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] has fond memories of his paternal granddad organising a rota to ensure all the kids got a chance to take [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] for walks, and he absolutely treasured these times.

Alongside his wife - who uses she/they pronouns - and three children, twins and a younger child, the family have two dogs of their own now: both rescues. Bon-Bon the pomeranian and Cranberry the [name_u]Irish[/name_u] Setter, who are adored by the kids. Cranberry actually was with the couple prior to the birth of their duo, and her protective love when it comes to the family is always welcomed; having been extended to their wider circle in subsequent years. Although he’s not the sole parent among Heather’s siblings, [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] had his kids first, and tends to be the most realistic in how he describes things to his family: admitting the difficulties of such changes to life and how he fears letting anyone he loves down, while emphasising everything he adores about parenthood and the quirks of his children as individuals. He is pretty clear about no multi-generational living for himself though, as his wife’s social anxiety couldn’t handle such an environment, and compromise is incredibly important to Grayson; especially as she’s the sort of person who’d agree to it just to see those she loves happy.

His hectic schedule and tendency to try spending as much time with everyone as possible does lead to some burnout occasionally, at which time Grayson’s wife looks after him and gives him a stern talking to about rest; something he has been working on improving. When [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] and [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] come to visit Heather’s new baby, Grayson’s actually going to have [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] stay with him, as his kids are determined to host a host guest, a whim he’s powerless to not indulge them in. His twins, now four, have already practiced making breakfast for her and want to act as mini valets, something Grayson’s absolutely charmed by for how strange it seems to outsiders. Something has told him though that her budding romance with her photographer friend might soon capture the children’s interests more - fairytales and courtly love of course.

They use ‘she/they’ pronouns but identify as genderqueer instead of non-binary like [name_f]Heather[/name_f], although the two have bonded over their similar identities in the past. [name_f]Heather[/name_f] has also spoken to them about being a gender non-conforming parent and other aspects of atypical parenting since she’s gotten pregnant and [name_u]Henri[/name_u] has been very receptive to any questions that they’ve had, LGBT+ related or just general parenting questions and is always very happy to help. They come from a family of all brothers so having other women to talk to from Grayson’s rather large family has been a delight though she prefers the one on one company of any person over being in a large group setting. That’s why she and [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] had a city hall wedding followed by a small party with family the day after.

They’ve struggled with social anxieties since she was a kid and often used to throw up before the first day of school or any other gathering. Their father was pretty stern as well leading to them feeling the need to conceal their mental health struggles for the majority of their adolescence. They first met with a therapist after moving out for college and it was life changing to learn about coping techniques and other things that could help her with her anxieties. She also began taking medication for her issues which helped a good deal, but of course it wasn’t a cure. They’ve been on the medication ever since, when she was pregnant with her first however the OB-GYN they had been seeing advised that she stop taking the medication for the duration of the pregnancy. As an anxious individual and a bit of a people pleaser she agreed. It was a huge mistake, falling back into old habits and becoming nearly agoraphobic due to anxieties that resurfaced. After meeting with another doctor for a second opinion who reassured them and [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] that it was perfectly fine to continue taking the medication, saying that even if it did slightly increase the risk for certain birth defects the risk of her anxieties interfering with daily life was a greater problem.

Due to their semi-sheltered upbringing it wasn’t until their twenties that she was introduced to the LGBT community and having a co-worker (who has since become very close to the family, they’re even a godparent to [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] and Henri’s eldest) who used they/them pronouns that she realized she felt more comfortable with a different label than what she was assigned at birth. To prevent this in her own children she’s trying to be very open with them about gender and sexuality, though since they’re very young right now she’s keeping it age-appropriate and somewhat general for their better understanding.

They thing that their twins’ desire to host [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] absolutely adorable and is fully supportive of the silly little idea, even bringing out their creative side to help them craft a faux business card for their ‘hotel.’ All the excitement surrounding [name_f]Heather[/name_f] and their fiancé’s upcoming baby is actually giving [name_u]Henri[/name_u] a little of of baby fever, they would love to have another baby but [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] isn’t quiet so sure about a fourth child though he’s willing to at least discuss the matter.
