Carlton " Cash " Esau Abrams ( 32 ) is the older brother of Darko who actually knew that Kish had a crush on Darko when they were in the foster system in one family but he wanted for them to " behave like siblings " to eachother so when he found out that Darko in a way suspects the feelings of Sudkeeksha, he told Darko to " just ignore it". Only later when encountering Clara and wanting to push her away despite his positive feelings towards her did he reach for psychological help. It took him several months to go deep into the therapeutic process and his psychotheraist concluded that he might have Avoidant Personality Disorder, which is part of cluster C personality disorders characterised by intense fearlessness, insecurity and perfectionism, traits that Cash found within himself only upon very careful introspection. He is determined to work on mental health for the sake of his son Enoch and his soon-to-be fiancee, Clara . Despite being rather afraid of commitment and scrutiny from Clara 's friends for getting back together with Enoch 's father after abandonment during pregnancy, the bottom line for Cash is that Clara was the first person he ever trusted enough to even touch romantically and eventually attempt raising a child with, which means she’s truly special. Clara is understanding of Cash 's personality disorder and knows that he will need additional work on unhealthy coping mechanisms. Cash wishes he had the courage to apologise to Sudkeeksha and Donald for discouraging them from confessing to eachother and sharing his avoidant tendencies with them, however, Clara assures him he can take his time with that step and should start small by rebuilding his relationship with Darko.
