[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Kyrene[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] Tolliday (26) is one of Nannie’s friends that she met last year. [name_f]Kyrene[/name_f] was born in [name_m]Washington[/name_m] D.C, and she moved to [name_m]Maine[/name_m] after a fallout with her family when she was 23. She had no reason to choose [name_m]Maine[/name_m] other than that it was on the other end of the country and she’d be as far away from her family as possible, basically signifying a new start.[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Kyrene[/name_f] isn’t as into Archeology as [name_f]Nannie[/name_f], but she does love horses. She has visited the museum on occasion and that is where she met and got along with [name_f]Nannie[/name_f], who bonded over their shared love of cartoons, particularly the show “Dearly Departed”, which [name_f]Kyrene[/name_f] watches as she always believed that when she was asleep, she visited the spiritual world, and that her heart was meant to be a ghost, and she’s just waiting for the world to catch up.
[name_f][/name_f]This belief isn’t actually a death wish, it actually comes from her diagnosis of primary hypersomnia. This condition causes [name_f]Kyrene[/name_f] to sleep for 10+ hours in a day, but she still feels exhausted. A lot of people mistakenly link this to her being lazy or depressed, but [name_f]Kyrene[/name_f] is actually a fairly happy person. Her mornings are just particularly rough, her having sleep inertia and it taking a very long time to “come to” after sleeping. [name_f]Kyrene[/name_f] has internalized this condition as she believes that her need to sleep for long periods of time comes from being already part ghost, and that when she dies, she will run the afterlife.
[name_f][/name_f]A lot of people, including her family and most of her friends don’t understand this belief. They think it’s delusional, which maybe it is, but it doesn’t affect her quality of life much, just gives her something to focus on during the day. She does talk about this a little more frequently, and her best friend is getting a little more concerned by the way she seems to be sleeping more on purpose to get closer to the afterlife she thinks she belongs in.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Kyrene[/name_f] works as an equine therapist with teens and young adults. She loves this work, as horses have always been her favorite animal. She gets along very well with little girl [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], and has shown her the horses a few times, even though [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] isn’t one of her clients. [name_f]Kyrene[/name_f] finds horses to be soothing to the soul, and she hopes that when it’s time to carry on to the destiny, someone will still be around to take care of the horses.
