Years later [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] & her husband decide to start a family but he breaks up with her right before the due date and no one can figure out why

Mother-to-be: [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_f]Jaqueline[/name_f] Pritchett (nee Turner-Westbank) (29)
Father-to-be: [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] [name_m]Roland[/name_m] Pritchett (29)
How did he break up with her: He set up a time and place with [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], much like a date. Once they got comfortable, he ripped off the bandaid and showed her the divorce papers. He acknowledged that it was going to hurt them both, but this was better than stringing her along. [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] was a wonderful person, he said, and she would easily be able to find someone else. He would be fine with co-parenting, but he needed some time to himself first. All his belongings were gone by the time she got back. The only thing he left was his house key, precariously perched on the key rack.
How did [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] take it: As best as she could given the circumstances. Having answers helped somewhat with the pain, and the assurance of having a co-parent for her unborn child, however the sense of her marriage ending without any proper forewarning was traumatic, hurtful and really only remaining focused on her baby stopped her from feeling completely devastated.
Why did he break up with her: He fell out of love and believed that the two of them weren’t very practical in being married. He didn’t like where he was living but she had her dream job there. In addition, some of his family members believed they wouldn’t last.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] they ever get back together: no, [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is going through the process of making sure that [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] can never contact the nany because even if having answers helps the pain, she cant forgive him and doesnt want him anywhere near her child. She ends up moving across the country to live near her brother, [name_u]Owen[/name_u].
If not does the father have a part in the baby(s)‘s life and how do they coparent?: This was subject to a long, acrimonious custody battle. As they both live in separate states/provinces, a 50/50 split could not be reached, much to Fabian’s disappointment. As he is the baby’s/babies’ biological father and not otherwise unsafe, however, he was entitled to some time with them. By the time said child/children become school-aged, they both agree that they would live with [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] for most of the year and move in with [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] during the summer months.
