[name_m]Just[/name_m] as the title reads, what are your top 5 combos from my UC / which do you think should be my top names?
[name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to do a separate list for boys and girls, one combined list, or whatever you want!
I’m also happy if you want to choose more than 5, but please rank them according to preference (and please include why if you’d like, I love reading how other people perceive my combos!!)
As bonus, what are your least favorite names from my UC? (I won’t be offended… or at least I’ll try not to be )
annemieke juliet - i love both names, and i think they work really well together
zinnia maisie - these two are both so lively
anya larkspur - anya is beatiful and personally i think larkspur works with pretty much anything
freyja meredith - this is very soft and sweet
annemieke esme lily - again, i love annemieke, and i like the pairing with two shorter middles
finlo beckett - very woodsy/outdoorsy vibes
everett sebastian - i love the way this just rolls off your tongue
ronan davis - this is probably my favourite of all your combos, just perfect!
anderson wilder - these two are such a nice match for each other
clark aslan - clark deserves more love!! so great to see him and aslan is such a cool middle
Overall, I picked out the ones I liked best, but also ones that I associate with your UC and that generally felt international + nature-y, elegant but zippy, a touch of vintage, with a stylish vibe!
[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - a big favourite of mine - literary, sleek, sharp and cool, with underlying gentleness and balance
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_u]Meadowlark[/name_u] - sparky, bright and beautiful - lovely outdoory imagery - open skies, birds, long grass, mountain ranges
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] - literary, delicate but not breakable, pretty but not fussy, a name that feels like a smile, like kindness
[name_f]Anya[/name_f] [name_u]Larkspur[/name_u] - international, zippy, bright and lovely, a name full of hope
[name_u]Cleo[/name_u] [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] - balanced between light and heavy, the short, snappy [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] with the grandeur of [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], but also feels summery, versatile and cool
Like with the girls names, I went with five I loved most, but also that I associate with you! I think these have a cool but unexpectedly vintage feel, a little surnamey, a little rough-and-tumble, but also able to be smartened up?
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] [name_m]Abel[/name_m] - friendly, zippy, cheerful and lovely to say - it’s just such an optimistic name?
[name_m]Tennyson[/name_m] [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] - poetic, handsome and kind of regal but with fun nickname potential - I think of someone studies, serious and confident, but who could easily be found walking cliff tops, taking boats in stormy weather and writing poems
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] - beautifully balanced between rugged and gentle, modern and vintage, cool and sweet
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] - I might have this on my list, so I might be biased, but I do think it’s one of the best [name_u]August[/name_u] combos going It just feels so cohesive to me - the slightly clunky, vintage [name_u]August[/name_u], which also contains the vibes of summer and adventure, with the rough and tumble, but also literary feeling [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] - it just works
[name_m]Stellan[/name_m] [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] - starry, elegant and warm with a cool sharpness added by the sounds of [name_m]Zachary[/name_m]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] such a lovely name! Also, not sure on how you feel about matching initials, but [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_u]Meadowlark[/name_u] and [name_m]Stellan[/name_m] [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] as sibs would be
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]
[name_m]Finlo[/name_m] [name_u]Beckett[/name_u]
[name_m]Orson[/name_m] [name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Stellan[/name_m] [name_m]Zachary[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]August[/name_u]
(Shoutout to [name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] – love [name_u]Paris[/name_u] on a boy!)
There aren’t any I dislike, but I’m a bit put off about [name_f]Hestia[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] – it feels a bit too goddess-y
The only combo I have a real problem with is [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Lea[/name_f] because I will ABSOLUTELY pronounce that as ‘lee-a’ (although I’m not from the states so don’t take my word for it)
Top 10 girls: In order of preference
[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]Garnet[/name_u]: So gorgeous and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] is a hidden gem of a name.
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], it’s zippy and fun but at the same time is a pretty name.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Odessa[/name_f]: [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is Sylvia’s spunky sister and it’s on my list as well.
[name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]: [name_f]Calla[/name_f] as a name is as lovely as the actual calla lily.
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Peony[/name_f]: [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] is a classic beauty and I prefer the “s” spelling as well.
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Lea[/name_f]: [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is underused, which is a shame because it’s just lovely.
[name_f]Selene[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_u]Juno[/name_u]: [name_f]Selene[/name_f] sounds peaceful and this is a pretty combo.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]Larkspur[/name_u]: [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] has a strength to it that I’ve always liked.
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Reverie[/name_f]: [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] combo and love the nickname options with [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f].
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_u]Flannery[/name_u]: [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] blows on in and means business and I like it.
Least favorites:
[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f]: I just don’t like the sound of this name, I hear “nerve” and it throws me off.
[name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]: Same issue, the sound just sounds “off” to me for some reason.
[name_f]Annemieke[/name_f]: With you spelling out the sound, it is lovely but I think it would be too confusing for most people and may be annoying for the child who has to always explain how it is pronounced.
[name_f]Hera[/name_f]: Not my style, [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is beautiful, I would put that as the first name.
[name_f]Althea[/name_f]: I love vintage old timey names but for me this name sounds too much like a grandma name, it may just be me though.
I’ll do a separate post for the boy list.
Top 5 boys: In order of preference
[name_u]Jonah[/name_u] [name_u]Wesley[/name_u]: [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] is on my list as well, a strong bible name that isn’t overused.
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]: Also on my list, I would use the nickname [name_m]Xander[/name_m] - love it.
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] [name_m]Fitz[/name_m]: [name_u]Declan[/name_u] is an awesome name which I might have used if a family member hadn’t beat me to it.
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_u]Troy[/name_u]: Always thought [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] had such a classic look and sound.
[name_u]Bennett[/name_u] [name_u]Holden[/name_u]: This is an awesome combo!
Least favorites:
[name_m]Arledge[/name_m]: I’m not really liking [name_m]Arledge[/name_m], it sounds clunky to me. Maybe [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_u]Arden[/name_u]?
[name_m]Riordan[/name_m]: If you wouldn’t have put the pronunciation, I wouldn’t know how to say this name. This may be annoying for the child who has to keep correcting people.
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]: I hear “your son” with this name. I like Orrick, [name_m]Orry[/name_m] or [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] better.
[name_m]Tennyson[/name_m]: I feel like this name may be hard to carry. I would use it as a middle name.
[name_m]Clark[/name_m]: Again, I do love the vintage names but I don’t know any Clarks under the age of 60, so this is just hard to picture on a young boy for me.
