Hello Berries,
I’m thinking ahead but if I am lucky enough to have a girl, I would love to be able to honor my late mother with her name. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom was named [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f], though she didn’t love her first name. I’d love to get some suggestions on how to incorporate my Mom’s name, in some way? It could be part of her first name, middle name or some variation of either name.
[name_f]My[/name_f] Grandma raised me after I lost my mother, and I would love to incorporate part of her name in some way as well. She was [name_f]Carol[/name_f] [name_f]Betty[/name_f]. Lastly, my mother in law, who has been truly amazing since the day I met her is [name_f]Linda[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]. If we are honoring two great women from my side, it would only be fair to include her as well, if we could. [name_u]Jean[/name_u] was also my husband’s grandmother’s first name.
[name_f]Ann[/name_f] & [name_f]Carol[/name_f] have been used quite a bit as middle names in my family, and [name_u]Jean[/name_u] has been used a lot on my husband’s side. That’s not to say we couldn’t follow in tradition but our daughter would share a middle name with her cousins if any of those were used.
I’m struggling because I feel like some of these sound a bit old fashioned. I thought of taking parts of the names to honor all of them & came up with [name_f]Carolina[/name_f]. It’s growing on me but my husband isn’t sold.
Berries, do you have any thoughts or suggestions?
