yes, I know alternative spellings involving Y’s isn’t nameberry’s favorite trend, but rest assured I’m just exploring! it just so happened that my crush on the names [name_f]Huttyn[/name_f] & [name_m]Lennyx[/name_m] as sisters coincided with my discovery of the singer [name_f]Emyrson[/name_f] [name_f]Flora[/name_f], and now I’m interested in finding more creative ways to spell names with Y’s!
basically, names where someone wearing it would say, “Emyrson with a Y… but not where you expect it to be!”
[name_f]Huttyn[/name_f] and [name_m]Lennyx[/name_m] are some more tame/obvious alternative spellings. I would throw [name_f]Maveryk[/name_f], a recent discovery, into the mix. I also stopped dead in the middle of typing the other day to try Avyrie
so now I’m curious what other creative Y spelling ideas the berries can come up with! beyond -syn in place of -son, or every possible combination to make [name_f]Rylie[/name_f]. I find this works best with more modern and unisex names, but if you have an idea with a more established name, I’d love to see it too!
i don’t have the time right now to come up with a whole host of ideas but i just wanted to hop on and say i met an [name_f]Elyzabeth[/name_f] once !!!

The Berries gave you so many great suggestions, the only one I can think of that has not been mentioned yet is [name_f]Yris[/name_f] or [name_f]Irys[/name_f]. I had a completely random dream about the former a fairly long time ago, and it has been on the back of my mind since then.
ETA: I also enjoy [name_f]Evangelyne[/name_f] thanks to an animated series I loved as a child, however, this one may not be very “you”?
My name is C@thryn. Does that count? lol My daughters are @rwen and R@ven and we’ve had people try to spell their names [name_m]Arwyn[/name_m] and [name_f]Ravyn[/name_f].
thank you everyone!! this got a lot more interest than I thought it would, given the subject matter! I’m not even sure what I’m to do with this list… a caf, perhaps?
