Wow thanks for all the opinions everyone! It’s helped me see the pros and cons of both!
I would pick [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]. There is more nickname potential. [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] can be [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], [name_f]Sandra[/name_f], [name_u]Sandy[/name_u], [name_f]Candy[/name_f].
Cressida is a lovely name, but friends will inevitably shorten it and the default is Cress, Cressy, which I’m not a fan of. [name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Samantha[/name_f]. And I hate being called [name_u]Sam[/name_u]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] when I introduce myself as [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] or [name_u]Sammy[/name_u], I end up as [name_u]Sam[/name_u]. Nicknames aren’t chosen as much as they are chosen for you.
Have you thought about Kassiana?
I’ve never heard of that before! It’s kinda like a mix of both names, I’ll definitely consider it as an alternative option.
It was the name of my boss while I was expecting my daughter.[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is named [name_f]Kassia[/name_f].
Both names are great, however I very much prefer [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]. However, [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] has the bonus of built-in nickname [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]/Sandra.
Never been too fond of [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], it is fresh sounding but I don’t really like the nicknames and I’m not a fan of the ‘cress’ in it. I really like [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] and the nickname [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] or even Sassy is sweet!
Cressida definitely. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it! We are considering it as a middle name though.
One name that has a similar sound to [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] & [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] that I do like is [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] is gorgeous!
Cressida is dreamy
I prefer [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] and I’m not sure why. [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] seems more modern to me for some reason.
Hmmmm. I’ll say [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]. It’s timeless and a little more accessible, but still gorgeous. I really like the Cress- sound in [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], but not the whole name as much. Not sure why.
Yes! [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] is gorgeous!
Depends if you’re American or not. I love [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] in my own accent and in most accents but Americans do this (no offense just my opinion) bad extension with the A vowels that I think makes the name go from a 10/10 to a 4/10 it’s like kis-ahn-dra is a yes from me but caas-ann-dra- is a no from me
I like [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] but don’t love it, can’t place my finger but I think it might be that I find it a bit too harsh. [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t hate it or anything though it’s a nice name
I think Americans can be corrected that the name is pronounced cas-ahn-dra if that’s the way you want it. It’s not a big deal. I have a cousin who pronounces her name this way.
I prefer [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] with the NN [name_u]Cass[/name_u].
