Cressida?

I’ve recently fallen head over heals in love with this name and I think if this wee one turns out to be a girl then it is definitely going to be a big contender.

As for middles I really want to honour my mum or my [name_f]MIL[/name_f] and then in the second middle we like to use for something that is a little more personal and we might not decide that till after the birth.

So far we have the possibilities of [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Annette[/name_f] or [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] and then we could add the second MN later, but I am interested to know if you can think of any other first MN based on [name_f]Annette[/name_f] and [name_f]Diana[/name_f] or maybe even a way to honour both?

And finally your overall thoughts on [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]? And your thoughts on [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] and [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] as a sibset?

Thanks!

I adore [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] and feel it’s perfect with [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] and [name_f]Diana[/name_f] don’t work together because of the 'd’s. I also feel the end and beginnings of [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] and [name_f]Annette[/name_f] run into each other. I’d like another [name_f]Ann[/name_f] version such as [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] or [name_f]Nanette[/name_f], which begin with a consonant, with [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]. Personally I like [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] - the sweetness of the middle balances nicely with the formality of the first.

I can never help raising my eyebrows when I see [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] eulogised on Nameberry, because the mythical character became something of a literary epitome of the unfaithful lover. It’s true that it is a lovely, golden name, but I personally don’t think it would be fair to burden a little one with such a story - at least not as a first name.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]?

[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f]

[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Nancy[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Nanette[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Hanne[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Anya[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_m]Vanya[/name_m]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f]

I really like [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], and I think it’s gorgeous with [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. I second what @araminty said; neither [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Annette[/name_f] or [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] have the perfect flow. I do think [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] is nice, though. Maybe:
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Amabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f]

Best of luck!
