I just came across the name [name_u]Cricket[/name_u], what do you think about it, and would you use it?
What could [name_u]Cricket[/name_u] be a nickname for??

I saw a post similar to this one awhile back and most people thought of the sport or animal, personally for me I love it as a name and it reminds me a lot of other popular ones such as [name_u]Sutton[/name_u] and [name_u]Sinclaire[/name_u]! I don’t think the association are bad to begin with either

Not really a fan of it soundwise, but I think it would make a lovely middle.

Hi there.

I think it’s so cute. I would never been brave enough to use it though. And I never even thought of using it as a nn. [name_f]Christina[/name_f] seems like a good option. [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe even [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/Catriona?

Hope this helps.

Usually Iam very brave on names and especially words, but Iam not the biggest fan of [name_u]Cricket[/name_u]. I think it will make a fab nn though.

I really like the idea of it but I don’t think I could actually use it! It’s very cute though and I like the suggestion for [name_u]Cricket[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Christina[/name_f]!

I’ve always put [name_u]Cricket[/name_u] and [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] together in the category of ā€˜peppy 60’s doll names.’ I don’t think a lot of people were actually named these in the 60’s but it seems the ā€˜ideal’ freckled face peppy but sweet girl was always named either cricket or pepper. So that’s my image of the name.

I’d definitely consider it as a nickname, but it doesn’t appeal to me as a full name (but if it did I wouldn’t afraid to use it, it’s just not my style if that makes sense)

I do think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Cricket[/name_u] would work really well.

I do like it as a nickname for a c name

Claribel ā€˜[name_u]Cricket[/name_u]’
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] ā€˜[name_u]Cricket[/name_u]’
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] ā€˜[name_u]Cricket[/name_u]’

It could be a nickname for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] perhaps.

I said no, but I think it would be more wearable as a nickname. I think it would also make a darling middle name. Personally though it is not my style

I want to like it, I think its very bold, and could definitely work for the right person… but its not my favorite…

Once I worked at a hotline and someone had called to talk about a matter concerning this friends. I asked for his friends names in order to keep track of the story, and he paused and awkwardly spat out ā€œ[name_m]Clay[/name_m] & [name_u]Cricket[/name_u]ā€ā€¦ now the nameberry side of my smiled to hear unique boho names (and I LOVE [name_m]Clay[/name_m]!), but I also could feel the gentlemans voice cringe over the phone waiting for me to presumably response to these names.

I’ve never been able to get behind [name_u]Cricket[/name_u]. It honestly just seems ridiculous to me, and I can’t picture it on an adult (or a kid, for that matter.)

Sorry if that was too harsh, it’s just not my thing.

I love [name_u]Cricket[/name_u], even if I’m not fond of the insect. I always associated it as a nickname for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] but there’s been some great suggestions already!

Cricket is adorable! I would use it, but ONLY as a pet name. I think it can work for any name; it’s more dependent on the child than the name, imo.
