Crispin

I have been crushing on the name [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] lately. What are your thoughts? I find it adorable on a baby and toddler, but will the name grow as they turn into an adult?

What are some siblings names that go well with [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]?

I was thinking [name_m]Charles[/name_m] “[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]”, [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u] for boys and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] for a girl.

[name_m]Crispin[/name_m] is adorable. I can’t really see it on an adult, but nearly. I agree it sounds like crisps, though.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] + [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]!

I just think of chips or crisps. Or [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] something like cooking something. I definitely see it as a NN or on someone who is a chef.

I really like [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]! I think it is definitely useable and worse case go by nn [name_u]Chris[/name_u]/Cris! I love it with [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] especially!!!

I want to like it and I can see the appeal, but I do kind of hear “crispy” and can’t get away from that association. I don’t think it would age poorly, though, and I do think the names you’ve listed would be good fits for siblings, except maybe [name_m]Charles[/name_m]/Charlie which feels more common/different style.

Hi there.

I think that [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] is really cool. It works fine on any age in my opinion. I like [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] in general. It’s not immediately what I’d pair w/Crispin, because it’s more classic whereas [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] in a little more out there. But I think they go fine. [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] fit a little better. I’m not big on [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] for some reason. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] & [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] are both gorgeous. Again, not my first picks w/Crispin, but sound fine.

Very British, I think. Would probably work over there. Not as usable in [name_u]America[/name_u], I’m afraid.

I really like [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]! I could see it on a child or an adult. I would love to meet a little [name_m]Crispin[/name_m].

I like [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]! Especially with nn [name_m]Kip[/name_m]/Cip! It reminds me of [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] [name_m]Glover[/name_m], so I definitely can see it on an adult! I like that it’s familiar, yet uncommon. I think [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u], and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] go especially nice with [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]!

(I’m in the US, by the way!)

I think of a politician who I don’t much care for :face_with_hand_over_mouth: but otherwise it’s a sweet, fresh, interesting name!

I think it fits best with [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] from your list. I’m feeling solid, slightly eccentric names with a British feel.

Maybe also [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] and…

I do think of “crispy,” but that could be a cute nn. [name_u]Cris[/name_u] could work as a nn. I actually really dig [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]!

It’s a cool name, but it feels kinda ew to me

I love it! It reminds me of [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]: The [name_u]Cross[/name_u] of Lead, which is a book my class read back in middle school. The downside to name for me personally is that people could call someone with the name [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] “[name_u]Cris[/name_u],” which is a nickname that I don’t like. (But that could also be a positive if he ever wanted to go by a more common name.)

I really like it with [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. I think [name_m]Charles[/name_m] “[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]” feels a bit more traditional and classic, whereas the others are a bit quirkier. [name_f]My[/name_f] personal preference is also to not give siblings names that start with the same letter, so that’s another reason why I would lean against [name_m]Charles[/name_m] as a sibling for [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] (even though they do start with different sounds).

Here are a few more names that haven’t been mentioned yet that could potentially work for siblings to [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]:

I can only see it as CRISPR, sorry. :frowning:

Although a lot of people won’t know what that is. I think it’s probably useable though.

Crispin is quite handsome and preppy
