I’d love to hear what my fellow Berries think of my names. I’ve been working hard on them lately, and I’m dying for some feedback. You can be as honest as you like, and I’m open to constructive criticism. :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks in advance for any replies that I may receive.

I won’t be much help when it comes to criticism, but your combos give me strong imagery!

[name_f]Araluen[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Nour[/name_f] - I enjoy the warbling sounds of [name_f]Araluen[/name_f], and [name_f]Chrysanthe[/name_f] reminds me of white flowers. I also like the [name_f]Nour[/name_f] spelling here.
Castalia [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u] [name_f]Isaure[/name_f] - Castalia [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u] is striking and [name_f]Isaure[/name_f] adds edge and mystery, reminiscent of a clock tower at midnight.
[name_f]Cerelia[/name_f] [name_u]Endellion[/name_u] Alsu - [name_f]Cerelia[/name_f] [name_u]Endellion[/name_u] on its own would have left me cold, but Alsu brings it to a whole new level!
[name_f]Gwyneira[/name_f] [name_f]Ismay[/name_f] [name_u]Lior[/name_u] - [name_f]Gwyneira[/name_f] [name_f]Ismay[/name_f] is ethereal, while [name_u]Lior[/name_u] simultaneously grounds and grandifies it.
[name_f]Hespera[/name_f] [name_f]Belphoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Aurore[/name_f] - rose gold, watching a sunrise from the balcony of an old stone castle, the cry of a hawk, votive candles.
[name_f]Idalia[/name_f] [name_f]Millaray[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] - the final ray of evening light streaming through ceiling-high windows as you look down at the bustle of the city. Heavy curtains and swirling dust.
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] [name_u]Rosamel[/name_u] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] - gives me snow white vibes, jewel-toned fruits in a winter forest.
[name_f]Mellona[/name_f] [name_f]Eos[/name_f] Rosebay - [name_f]Eos[/name_f] and Rosebay are a little hard to say together (too much ‘s’), but the unusual ‘o’ sounds in [name_f]Mellona[/name_f] and [name_f]Eos[/name_f] add mystery. The imagery is hard to place, but in a good way.
[name_f]Ostara[/name_f] Melianthe [name_f]Duska[/name_f] - the first and last stars in the sky.
[name_f]Ourania[/name_f] Melanthe [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] - clouds drifting over the ocean, watercolours, tulip fields.

[name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] [name_u]Marinell[/name_u] [name_f]Flori[/name_f] - love the [name_u]Marinell[/name_u] [name_f]Flori[/name_f] part! Sailing in a riverbank lined with multicoloured roses, seagulls, buttered toast.
Melissus [name_u]Vivendel[/name_u] [name_m]Frey[/name_m] - love [name_u]Vivendel[/name_u] here! [name_u]Grey[/name_u] cathedral ceilings, old streetlamps, how streets become ghost towns in the rain.

I’m so touched that you took the time and effort to pen such marvelous imagery for me. I’m much obliged. :slightly_smiling_face: You’ve captured their essences perfectly, and I can picture them so vividly. Again, much thanks and I hope you’re having a wonderful day/night. :yellow_heart:

Ah, I’m fully aware, unfortunately. :slightly_frowning_face: But with my synesthesia the names are never to be apart. They just fit together so well, imagery, color, and taste wise. They’re name soulmates, to me. :slightly_smiling_face:

𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒂 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒅 - this has flair and a poetic quality about it, with subtle strength too. [name_f]Affie[/name_f] is a cute nickname

𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒓𝒚𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒓 - [name_f]Araluen[/name_f] is intriguing and distinct and I think this combo has a nice balance of sharp and gentle sounds. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Nour[/name_f]!

𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒆 - it does have a nice flow and sort of sparkly, night-time feel, but Castalia reminds me just a tiny bit of castrate… [name_f]Ilaria[/name_f] [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u] [name_f]Isaure[/name_f], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u] [name_f]Isaure[/name_f] or [name_f]Meliora[/name_f] [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u] [name_f]Isaure[/name_f] give me similar vibes.

𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒖 - love this - [name_f]Cerelia[/name_f] is so celestial and pretty, [name_u]Endellion[/name_u] is bold and lovely and Alsu is sweet and distinct and I like them together

𝒈𝒘𝒚𝒏𝒆𝒊𝒓𝒂 𝒊𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒓 - wintery, bright and lovely

𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒆𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒓𝒆 - poetic, elegant and distinctive

𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒚 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 - mystical, pretty and unexpected

𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒍 𝒆𝒗𝒆 - strong and elegant with a sweetness too

𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒂 𝒆𝒐𝒔 𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒃𝒂𝒚 - I like the meanings and vibes but I find it a bit of a mouthful to say - it doesn’t quite flow like your others as [name_f]Eos[/name_f] feels like a stumble here to me. Maybe [name_f]Mellona[/name_f] Rosebay [name_u]Halcyon[/name_u], [name_f]Mellona[/name_f] [name_f]Eirlys[/name_f] Rosebay or [name_f]Mellona[/name_f] [name_f]Sigourney[/name_f] [name_f]Eos[/name_f] - or even just [name_f]Mellona[/name_f] Rosebay [name_f]Eos[/name_f] - I find that easier to say

𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒖𝒔𝒌𝒂 - not sure on [name_f]Duska[/name_f] here - it breaks the whimsical and celestial feel. [name_f]Ostara[/name_f] Melianthe is very grand and intriguing though. [name_f]Ostara[/name_f] Melianthe Dew? [name_f]Ostara[/name_f] Melianthe [name_f]Leila[/name_f]?

𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒚𝒗𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆 - not sure on [name_f]Ourania[/name_f] but this does have a very mythical, intriguing vibe

𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒊 - elegant, poetic, bold and gentle all at once

𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒖𝒔 𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒍 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒚 - intriguing, sort of knightly

Oh deary me, I hadn’t thought of that potential association. It is unfortunate, but thank you for bringing it to my attention. :slightly_smiling_face: Cressida Nightingale Isaure is exquisite ! I’ll have to ponder whether or not to replace Castalia, now.

I love Mellona Eirlys Rosebay ! :slightly_smiling_face: Unfortunately, regardless of flow, Mellona is the most important name in the world to me, and her middles are pretty set in stone. I’d be open to Mellona Rosebay Eos, however, so thank you for your invaluable input !

Okay, but I love this. Big time. It may be time for a change …

I appreciate your kind words and honesty on my names, along with the wonderful suggestions. It means the world to me ! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: You’ve been most helpful !

𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒂 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒅 - 9/10 This sounds like the name of a character that I’d possibly find in a fantasy book about fairies! It’s dreamy and magical, giving me ‘fairies that predict the arrival of spring’ vibes (if that makes sense). I’m not a fan of Florimell though, sorry.

𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒓𝒚𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒓 - 10/10 I love this! Again, this has a fairy-like aura around it. I like how [name_f]Nour[/name_f] balances [name_f]Chrysanthe[/name_f] without sticking out a lot, stylistically. If Aferdita Florimell [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is a spring fairy, then [name_f]Araluen[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Nour[/name_f] is the fairy of the transition between spring and autumn. I can see a lot of golden tones!

𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒆 - 6/10 This sounds good in theory, but I’m neither a fan of Castalia or [name_f]Isaure[/name_f]. [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u] is a fun middle.

𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒖 - 5/10 [name_u]Endellion[/name_u] holds the combo together, even though I’m neither a fan of [name_f]Cerelia[/name_f] not Alsu.

𝒈𝒘𝒚𝒏𝒆𝒊𝒓𝒂 𝒊𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒓 - 7/10 [name_f]Gwyneira[/name_f] [name_f]Ismay[/name_f] is beautiful, and if I am to continue the fairy theme, I’d say she is the snow fairy! Wintery whites and the Welsh countryside are very reminiscent.

𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒆𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒓𝒆 - 8.5/10 [name_f]Hespera[/name_f] is clunky-cute. [name_f]Belphoebe[/name_f] is marvelous. How do you pronounce [name_f]Aurore[/name_f]? I have no clue.

𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒚 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 - 10/10 This is so beautiful! I am probably boring you with all my fairy connotations, but bear with me: the fairy of the bees, honey and bee-keepers.

𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒍 𝒆𝒗𝒆 - 9/10 Not a fan of [name_f]Eve[/name_f], but does seem to work nicely with the rest of the combo. Reminds me of apples and as @/Oblivious_octopus said, snow-white vibes.

𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒂 𝒆𝒐𝒔 𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒃𝒂𝒚 - 8/10 I like this, but the flow could’ve been better. For example, [name_f]Eos[/name_f] [name_f]Mellona[/name_f] Rosebay or [name_f]Mellona[/name_f] Rosebay [name_f]Eos[/name_f]. It makes me think of super-cute bunnies and animals.

𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒖𝒔𝒌𝒂 - 8/10 The flow is better, but something seems off to me. I can’t explain what. How about [name_f]Ostara[/name_f] [name_f]Melusine[/name_f] [name_f]Duska[/name_f]? Picnics, sunlight escaping the canopy, tangerines and old books are how I’d describe this name.

𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒚𝒗𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆 - 4/10 Definitely dark vibes, which I usually love, but I am not one for this combo. Blooming flowers, moonlight, cherry-blossoms, star-gazing and following ancient maps.

𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒊 - 7/10 [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_u]Marinell[/name_u] but I think I prefer Flor/e to to [name_f]Flori[/name_f]. Massive sailor vibes here! I am gonna go along with fairy theme and appoint him as the fairy of the oceans.

𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒖𝒔 𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒍 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒚 - 9/10 Melisseus seems like it has a few extra letters lying around. [name_u]Vivendel[/name_u] [name_m]Frey[/name_m], on the other hand, is a absolutely dashing. [name_u]Grey[/name_u] storms, windowpanes, vintage cars and flowers pressed in between books represent this!

𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒏𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒎 𝒕ü 𝒍𝒂𝒚 - 9/10 [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] Tülay would’ve been beautiful on its own, but I’m not sure how to feel with Alnilam.

Average: 7.8/10

It’s pronounced (AW-RAWR), and is the French form of Aurora ! :slightly_smiling_face: I was inspired by the Aurora Borealis.

Not at all ! That’s a similar vibe to what I’m aiming for. :slightly_smiling_face: Don’t worry about it ! :yellow_heart: I enjoy reading each and every description you’ve written for me.

Melusina is on my list already, but I do have Mellona, so perhaps Melusina/Melusine should be delegated to the middle names list. Ostara Melusine Duska is so opalescent and shimmery, I love it.

I’m a little on the fence with Alnilam as well, but it means “string of pearls”, and I’m very much a person that is into the meaning and imagery of names, so it suited Adelaide to me. I’m still thinking it over. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you so, so much for taking the time to critique my list, you’ve proven most helpful and have given me some insight. I genuinely appreciate it ! Have a lovely morning/night ! :yellow_heart:

@mellona glad I could help  [name_f]May[/name_f] I ask which way you pronounce [name_f]Eos[/name_f] - I just want to check as that might change how I perceive the combo

𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒂 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒅 - I’m not a fan of Aferdita or Florimell individually, but the combo works — it’s rosy sunrises, four leaf clovers, dew sparkling on grass in the morning, new rosebuds :rose::four_leaf_clover::sunrise:

𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒓𝒚𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒓 - I love this one, and I love how all three names share an n. It’s all golden & red for me, the transition from summer to fall, leaves crumpling up and preparing to fall :maple_leaf::sunny:

𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒆 - I don’t love [name_f]Isaure[/name_f] but Castalia Nightengale is dark and beautiful — muted yellows, icy blacks, crescent moons, midnight storms :crescent_moon::european_castle::tornado:

𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒖 - ooh, this one’s interesting. I really like [name_f]Cerelia[/name_f] paired with [name_u]Endellion[/name_u] – it feels very fresh and springy, pale blue skies and spring rain. I’m not sure about Alsu with the rest of the combo, though.

𝒈𝒘𝒚𝒏𝒆𝒊𝒓𝒂 𝒊𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒐r - this one made me gasp – it’s stunning. [name_u]Bright[/name_u], wintery, and mysterious. I wouldn’t have thought to pair [name_u]Lior[/name_u] with the other two names, but I love it.

𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒆𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒓𝒆 - rosy and bright. I love [name_f]Hespera[/name_f] & [name_f]Aurore[/name_f] together but [name_f]Belphoebe[/name_f] completely changes the colors of the combo for me and I’m not sure about it.

𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒚 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 - warm, dusty, and sweet. Sunlight streaming through dusty rose-colored curtains, lazy summer mornings, piles of old books. I really like this one.

** 𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒍 𝒆𝒗𝒆 ** - absolutely love this one; it might be my favorite. I love the spikier [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] paired with sweet [name_u]Rosamel[/name_u], rounded out by fashionable [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. It’s frozen winter mornings, the glow of the winter sun against the snow, red berries :snowflake:

𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒂 𝒆𝒐𝒔 𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒃𝒂𝒚 - ooh, I really like this one. [name_f]Eos[/name_f] & Rosebay pair together so well.

𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒖𝒔𝒌𝒂 - this is intriguing, mystical and celestial-feeling. It makes me think of cloudy nights, the last stars lingering in the sky, the call of an owl. I don’t love the flow but the vibes are very cool.

𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒚𝒗𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆 - I don’t love this one — all three names give me very different imagery. But it’s got a cool sound and I love Melanthe

𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒊 - similar vibes to Aferdita Florimell [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] [name_u]Marinell[/name_u] is a bit hard for me to say, but the vibes are fun.

𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒖𝒔 𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒍 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒚 - [name_u]Vivendel[/name_u] [name_m]Frey[/name_m] is stunning, pastel purple & green for me. I don’t love Melisseus but it’s growing on me, and it works surprisingly well with the rest of the combo

Oh my goodness, such lovely imagery ! I can see them all so clearly.

The reception I’ve gotten in this thread from Ostara Melianthe Duska has compelled me to change Ostara’s middles to Ostara Melianthe Yvaine, stealing Yvaine from Ourania. So Ourania is now Ourania Melanthe Tuvstarr (a name from one of my favorite childhood fairytales) instead on account of this. :slightly_smiling_face: I think it works much better now.

Thank you for your help ! :yellow_heart: I really enjoyed your descriptions and your constructive criticism. Thank you for stopping by the thread, and have a wonderful day/night ! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
