[name]Isla[/name] [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Grace[/name]

[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Ivo[/name]

Please critique my potential names for a daughter and son . . . don”t know which yet. I”ve found previous comments really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - [name]Isla[/name] seems to be getting more popular, and [name]Grace[/name] is very popular as a middle. However, as it is one of two middles, I think that problem is mostly negated, and it does have a very nice sentiment. Also, despite the increasing popularity, [name]Isla[/name] is a beautiful name. [name]Saffron[/name] is a beautiful, spunky, unusual choice which definitely stops the name being too popular, and I think the whole combination flows excellently. This name would be a great choice, and I find it conjurs up romantic images - and isle ([name]Isla[/name]) of dancing ([name]Grace[/name] [graceful]) and good food ([name]Saffron[/name]).

[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Ivo[/name] - again, I’ve heard that [name]Oliver[/name] is quite popular at the moment, but I haven’t met many at all, and I personally find it unexpected due to the popularity of the similar-sounding [name]Olivia[/name]. [name]Thomas[/name] is a solid classic, and [name]Ivo[/name] lends the name pizazz. This whole name flows well and is so handsome.

[name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] are great names for siblings, too.

Are you looking for any more suggestions? [name]Just[/name] for fun :
[name]Isla[/name] - [name]Freya[/name], [name]Isis[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Ailsa[/name], [name]Isolde[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Nola[/name], [name]Milla[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Saffron[/name] - [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Clover[/name], [name]Saskia[/name]
[name]Grace[/name] - [name]Blithe[/name], [name]Felicity[/name], [name]Verity[/name], [name]Joy[/name], [name]Margot[/name] (Fonteyn - I just find her completely inseperable from the idea of grace)

[name]Oliver[/name] - [name]Oscar[/name], [name]Julian[/name], [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Thomas[/name] - [name]Edward[/name], [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Charles[/name], [name]George[/name], [name]Jack[/name], [name]Jonathan[/name], [name]Joseph[/name], [name]James[/name], [name]Peter[/name]
[name]Ivo[/name] - Armo (means ‘grace’), [name]Hugo[/name], [name]Otto[/name], [name]Jago[/name], [name]Luca[/name], [name]Cosmo[/name], [name]Milo[/name].

Good luck! [name]Auburn[/name]

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Auburn[/name],

Thank you so much for your reply. I was beginning to worry that no one had any comments for my names and then all of a sudden such a thoughtful reply!

Your suggestions are amazing. Many fit my style so well . . . [name]Isolde[/name], [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Verity[/name], [name]George[/name], & [name]Milo[/name] we all in the running. I love the sound of [name]Margot[/name] but can”t seem to warm up or even be okay with the way the word looks. I”ve never considered Fonteyn (it”s a new name for me), but it sound beautiful.

Thanks again!

I second everything auburn said. I think you names are wonderful! I think you haven’t gotten many responses simply for that reason. It’s easier to critique names that need work. I love your combinations. Great sound, great flow, usable first names, and a hint of spunk. Perfect.

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Grace[/name]: [name]Isla[/name] is definitely rising in popularity, but it’s still a lovely name, and I don’t think it’ll get too popular. I really love [name]Saffron[/name] (I love it in the middle, even though it might be too much as a first) and it compliments [name]Isla[/name] beautifully. I think [name]Grace[/name] (though it could be considered a filler middle) grounds the combo, adding classicality to the more whimsical [name]Saffron[/name] and wispy [name]Isla[/name]. You could also do:

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Eve[/name]

[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Ivo[/name]: I really like [name]Oliver[/name], and it goes great with [name]Thomas[/name]. Are you pronouncing [name]Ivo[/name] ‘eye-vo’ or ‘ee-vo’? I love it the first way, although I think ‘ee-vo’ is the correct pronunciation. [name]Ivo[/name] seems a little too close in sound to [name]Oliver[/name], but since it’s the second middle, it’s okay. What about:

[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Milo[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Arlo[/name]

I really love both combos! There’s really nothing wrong with them-- your child will be getting a lovely name, either way!

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - that’s 3 gorgeous names arranged in a complementary fashion, well done, great name

[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Ivo[/name] - love [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name], but I’m not so sure on [name]Ivo[/name], there is an open end feeling to it, like there’s a letter missing.
[name]How[/name] do you like:
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Ivor[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Ivan[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] Thomes [name]Yves[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Ira[/name]
?

[name]Hi[/name] Irisrose,

We plan to pronounce [name]Ivo[/name] (eye-vo). I”m not 100% sure this is the correct pronunciation as I”ve only ever heard the name from one source (a British TV series). I much prefer this pronunciation over ”ee-vo.”

[name]Hi[/name] Sarahwrighthere,

Thank you for your comments too. I agree that [name]Ivo[/name] sounds really unexpected. I kept hearing it throughout the series thinking that it was maybe a nickname or something. It just kept growing on me and making me want to find out more. I did a bit of research and found it was a name in itself and thought, wow . . . cool! Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks for your comments!

I also didn’t post earlier when I read your names as I thought there was no critiquing needed. They are lovely names!
