Critique this little list!

Here are some boy’s I’m thinking about recently.

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]
[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u]
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl
[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] / [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]

([name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] = oh-an, like [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. I’ve met many boys with many spelling variants of this name so it’s ‘‘odd’’ spelling isn’t an issue for me).

Please let me know what you think!

[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] is my favorite name from the list… but I dislike [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] in all forms. [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] would be my pick!

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] - love this! I picture a very dapper little guy.

[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] - I like this too!

[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m] - I don’t like [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] at all. I don’t like the sound, the look, or the associations.

[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl - I love [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], not a huge fan of this middle name but because I love [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], I’d say its a mjaor contender.

[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] / [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] - I’ve always liked the name [name_u]Owen[/name_u]/[name_m]Eoin[/name_m]/[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m], but I probably wouldn’t use it myself just because there’s many other names that I like better. OF the two nicknames, I would pick [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]- This name is cute!
[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u]- Ok, but not my style
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m]- Cute!
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl- I like this as well!
[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] / [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]- I’m not a huge fan of this one. I feel [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] would be mispronounced a lot in a mainly English speaking country.

[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is super handsome & so is [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. I do like the name [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] as well but not with [name_m]Hugh[/name_m].

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is really lovely. [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] tends to feel sort of mundane to me mainly because of personal experience but recently I’ve been appreciating its medieval vibe, and the gorgeous [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] really helps to bring that out. Flow is great too.

[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is handsome. Again, [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] has a kind of bland middle-aged feel to me but I love how rhythmic it is and the possibility of the nickname [name_u]Jem[/name_u]. Both [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] have a fun mix of Middle Ages and middle aged if that makes sense. [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is gorgeous but I think a more unusual and maybe romantic might balance [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] a bit better, like [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] with [name_m]Hugh[/name_m].

[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m] might be my favourite. They’re two names I like but tend to overlook for some reason, but I am in love with them together. The playfulness of [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] and the more grounded [name_m]Colm[/name_m] balance each other really well.

[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl is really cool. Hwyl is new to me I think, and the Welsh-ness with the classic [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] works very well. [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl sounds like an old aristocrat to me for some reason.

[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] both work nicely. Normally I’d choose [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] over [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but I slightly prefer the flow and feel of [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] feels quite modern to me, while [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is more regal. The more I say it, though, the more the [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] combo is growing on me - basically, they’re both lovely in their own way.

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is nice but I like [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] better. I would like to suggest [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], I think it packs a powerful punch. [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m] is is dashing!

I love [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] & [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

I love:

[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m]
[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]

[name_u]Love[/name_u]:
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] - HANDSOME!
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl - Timeless

Like:
[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] / [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] - I like both of these combos a lot. [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is extremely popular though so I would be scared of constantly having to spell your version of [name_u]Owen[/name_u] out loud. I’m more into the most popular spelling of name. [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] looks very classy, very cool spelling.

Dislike:
[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] - I’m not a fan of [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m], and don’t care for [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] at all. I do love the nickname [name_u]Jem[/name_u] though!
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m] - Not a fan of [name_m]Rufus[/name_m]. It sounds odd to me. [name_m]Colm[/name_m] is a cool name though.

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] & [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m] are my faves from your list.

I think [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] would be mispronounced and just turn into too much of a hassle. I think [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] & [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] are too boring.

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] - Both names are handsome, but [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is so gentle and understated, and [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is bolder and more dashing, so they clash.

[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] - There is nothing wrong with this, but it pales next to your other, more intriguing pairings. Why not [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] or [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] Hwyl?

[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m] - Very nice! [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] is lovely - so sweet and impish.

[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl - [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] is a sturdy, timeless name. I like the nn possibility of [name_m]Cole[/name_m], and Hwyl makes for an interesting middle name.

[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] / [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] - [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] sounds brilliant, but in Irish legend Éogan killed Naoise and caused [name_f]Deirdre[/name_f]'s suicide – an association you could avoid by opting for [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Ewan[/name_m] or [name_m]Owain[/name_m] instead.

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] - like!
[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] - not a fan of either names, and not paired together either
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m] - like!
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl - not sure how to pronounce Hwyl
[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] / [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] - out of these I like [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]

I think these are gorgeous:

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl
[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is pure poetry, love it.
[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] seems 80’s to me, though it’s a fine name. [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], I’m sorry, but I dislike intensely.
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m], cool name, very cool.
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] I love, Hwyl I’m unfamiliar with, sounds like a bird sound to me.
[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] looks unappealing to me from my US perspective and [name_m]Henry[/name_m], though a great name, is so popular.
Not wild about [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], though I love [name_m]Tom[/name_m], [name_m]Tavish[/name_m], [name_m]McTavish[/name_m], and [name_m]Thompson[/name_m].

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] and [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m] are my favorites by far.

[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] - I think they clash a bit, [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is more bold as a previous poster said.
[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u]: I think they go well together.
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m]: [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] is not appealing imo. [name_u]Reid[/name_u] is an alternative; it has the same meaning.
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Hwyl: I like [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], and I like the meaning of Hwyl, but I don’t like the pronunciation (Who-il).
I actually like [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Colm[/name_m]. The meanings pair nicely (victory & peace).
[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] / [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]: Both are great choices, I like [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] a bit more.
