I just met someone who has a a son named [name_u]Crosby[/name_u]. I’ve never met another little boy with the name and it caught my attention enough to look it up. I like that the meaning “village of crosses” feels sort of obscurely [name_u]Christian[/name_u] without being overtly so, even if that isn’t necessarily the history of the name. I have always strongly disliked names like [name_u]Cody[/name_u] and [name_u]Colby[/name_u] which look similar to [name_u]Crosby[/name_u], but I think they have different enough sounds?
I really like the way [name_u]Crosby[/name_u] flows with our surname, too. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband said he would “think on it” but I’m wondering what other opinions of it are. The few nameberry posts I found for the name didn’t look super favorable…
It honestly only conjures pictures of old men for me but that might be just me.
I think it’s a fine name in general but, like [name_m]Ebenezer[/name_m], I just cannot picture it on a child if that makes sense?
I really like it! It fits with all the on-trend surnames that I love, is recognizable, but uncommon enough to make it interesting. Bonus that it flows well with your last name!
[name_u]Crosby[/name_u] always goes on and off my list because I love [name_m]Bing[/name_m] [name_u]Crosby[/name_u]! I think ita super cool and like you said it shares similarites with more common names but stands out
Very surname but fun. I might look up the famous people and characters who have this last name just to know but its cute.
I like [name_u]Crosby[/name_u]!
I have a friend whose son has a close friend named [name_u]Crosby[/name_u], they are 10ish. And it has always stood out to me and been so fitting. They call him Cros for short.
I think it works, especially with the on trend surname names, but isn’t over used. [name_m]Easy[/name_m] to say, spell, yet doesn’t feel super common. It has an [name_f]English[/name_f] feel to me too.
[name_u]Crosby[/name_u] has a pretty cool, bubbly sound!
[name_u]Crosby[/name_u] [name_f]Street[/name_f] is the most chic and beautiful street in soho, NYC. I love it for a boy, or even a girl!
I love Crosby.
It feels very cozy to me. Bing Crosby, Christmas music, fire crackling, light snow fall vibes.

I like it! Then again, I also like [name_u]Colby[/name_u] and [name_u]Cody[/name_u]
I associate [name_u]Crosby[/name_u] with hockey player [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] [name_u]Crosby[/name_u].
Cute! It reminds me of a town near where I live, that’s on the water and very scenic, but tucked away from civilization. It’s the sort of place that you drive through, blink, and you’re past it, with a cute little ice cream shop. So vibe wise, [name_u]Crosby[/name_u] makes me think of the sea, vintage charm, and happy people socializing over a sweet treat. A happy, friendly, nature-loving boy. I think it has an older feel but sounds modernish due to its similarities with names like the ones you mentioned, so it wouldn’t seem outdated.
i love crosby!! he’s perfectly on trend with the surname-name craze while still being distinctive and spunky. the meaning is pretty as well, i think it makes a lovely reference to christianity without being super noticable to the average person. my only association is sidney crosby, but i also have lived in + have family in pgh so i could be biased – either way i don’t think it’s a bad thing. he feels like a fall or spring name to me. i can see little crosby playing in the woods, splashing in the lake, tossing around a football with his friends at the park.
@CashTheUnicorn ……They are two different names and I think you are referring to Bill Cosby. The name Crosby has many positives and people attached to it as several pp’s have noted.
I associate [name_u]Crosby[/name_u] with the show Parenthood since one of the main (and very likable) characters has that name. I think it’s cute and different!
No problem at all!
I personally really love [name_u]Crosby[/name_u]. It feels kinda sparky and fun without being too out there, but just different enough to stand out. Reminds me of hockey, [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] time, and [name_m]Dax[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] from Parenthood
I really like it. Never even thought of [name_m]Bing[/name_m] [name_u]Crosby[/name_u] just [name_u]David[/name_u] [name_u]Crosby[/name_u]. I did love Parenthood.
I love [name_u]Crosby[/name_u]! I had a student named that a few years ago and thought it had the look and feel of trends now while still retaining that no-one-else-has-it feel. There is also a girl at my gym named [name_u]Crosby[/name_u]. She’s probably in her 30s and I’ll bet it was a bit hard growing up with that name back then, but it’s made me like the name even more.
