Some of the old threads for [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] I’ve seen are like 5+ years old. Wondering what the current consensus is on [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] for a little girl.

I’ve never really considered [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] before but it just caught my attention tonight. I want to like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], but for some reason it feels/sounds gaggy to me? I think I’ve always blocked out [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] because it has the same beginning sound so it should logically give me the same feeling but for some reason it doesn’t?
[name_f][/name_f]
And now that I’m considering [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], maybe I don’t actually hate [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] either? It sounds like took many other things to me to really consider [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], though.

Impressions of [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]? What type of girl do you envision as an [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]? Any middle suggestions?

Part of me thinks there are other names on my shortlist I probably like more, but part of me feels like I could actually see us using [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] on a child.
It’s a yes to [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] from me! I like the strong, pithy sounds but also find her sweet and pretty. I found that [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] was my gateway name to [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]. I started liking [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] because of the Despicable Me character, and it made me see [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] in a whole new, usable and positive light.

Because my synasthesia colours A names green and G’s yellow, the image I get for [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is a young girl in a green dress with yellow sprigs. She’s got light hair wisping out of two top knot buns. Personality wise I might imagine [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] on the thoughtful and considerate side, an animal lover. But [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] could suit many people I think.
My sister (similarly name nerdy) has recently got me on to loving these two names! [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] and [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] did once feel very dated and clunky, but I now think they’re charming. [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] has a good literary reference, which I love, and [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is softer and more whispery.
I picture an [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] as being thoughtful and imaginative, maybe a bit bookish. As far as middles go, what about…
I love the name [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]! It’s clunky for sure but feels cool and strong to me. I also quite like the name [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] has a bit more rhythm and brightness to it.
[name_f][/name_f]
I would imagine an [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] being well read, adventurous, determined, and self assured.
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is very lovely! [name_f][/name_f] I think of [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_m]Christie[/name_m], and it feels a bit dark academia too; I would love to meet an [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] I sponsor a sweet little girl in [name_m]South[/name_m] [name_f]America[/name_f] named [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], so it’s been growing on me ever since I started sponsoring her last year. [name_f][/name_f] I’ve always liked [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] for the [name_f]French[/name_f] pronunciation, it’s smooth like butter and feels like a crumbling [name_f]French[/name_f] monastery. [name_f][/name_f] I envision an [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] to be adventurous and smart as a whip and quick to grin and laugh but sensitive to the underdog. [name_f][/name_f] I envision her to play private eye often, and find her own mysteries to solve, but she’s good friends with everyone, too. [name_f][/name_f] She reminds me a little 9-year-old version of [name_f]Enola[/name_f] [name_m]Holmes[/name_m] haha.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] was my first idea, what about:
I really like it! I know an elementary-aged [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] who wears it well. She’s a bit shy on first meeting, but warms up into a spirited and artistic delight!
[name_f][/name_f]
Lots of great middle suggestions above. I’ll add [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f], [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], or [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f].
I really love [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]! I think it’s ready for a comeback but I do love those clunky retro names. I love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] too, it’s a tough call to pick which I prefer. I would love to meet a little [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]. I think you might get a lot of surprise depending on where you live but I think it’s one that a lot of people see as “old fashioned” but would quickly change when they actually knew a child with it.
