I love [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]! Gorgeous! But if you are concerned about [name]Poppy[/name] not be grown up or mature enough/can’t picture it on an adult, I like [name]Penelope[/name] (despite recent ‘celebrity’ use).
[name]Poppy[/name] is great. I also love [name]Elizabeth[/name] as a middle. Personally I might use [name]Penelope[/name] but I also think [name]Poppy[/name] is entirely usable
Too cutesy for my liking. It’d be sweet on a little girl, but most things would. Personally, I wouldn’t like to have to introduce myself as [name]Poppy[/name] in a professional context.
I love [name]Poppy[/name] - if [name]Penny[/name] can work on a grown woman, [name]Poppy[/name] can.
To help relieve any concerns that a [name]Poppy[/name] wouldn’t be taken seriously as an adult, in Australia during the 90’s [name]Poppy[/name] [name]King[/name] had one of the biggest cosmetic brands, and was named [name]Young[/name] Australian of the Year in 1995. Being named [name]Poppy[/name] obviously didn’t ruin her ability to be taken seriously in the business world.
I know a [name]Poppy[/name], sister to [name]Emily[/name]. Their parents are British, and I know the name is more popular over there then in the US. I think it is fantastic, but I’m not sure how it would grow with a child. I really love it as a nickname - I prefer it for [name]Penelope[/name], but I am sure there are other names out there you could use if that isn’t your style. I’ve heard it mentioned as a nick name for [name]Josephine[/name] as well.
Good point! I’d forgotten about [name]Poppy[/name] [name]King[/name]. She did very well.
On the other hand…she was in her 20’s at the time, and she was in the cosmetics industry, which is by nature somewhat youth-oriented. As a nearly-40-year-old, in a more staid profession (law), I have to say that I am glad not to be named anything overly cutesy (e.g. [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Maisy[/name], [name]Honey[/name]), or any of the fanciful ‘word’ names that people keep coming up with (Memorie, Whisper).
[name]Just[/name] my perspective.
I love [name]Poppy[/name]! [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Alice[/name] is lovely
[name]Poppy[/name] is nice, but NMS. I do like [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Alice[/name] though!!
~[name]Jasmine[/name]
It’s a bit nick namey to me. I would only use it as a middle name. It is super cute though!
It’s NMS, but I would definitely use [name]Penelope[/name] nn [name]Poppy[/name] so she has options!
Well, I could personally never use it simply because I called my grandfather poppy. So I automatically associate the name with an old man. Fine for others though.
