This evening at synagogue, an adorable 5-year-old girl ([name]Elana[/name]) brought her new doll. I asked her what the doll’s name was, and she said, “[name]Celestia[/name]!” I asked [name]Elana[/name] if she’d named [name]Celestia[/name] herself, and she said, “Yes, it’s my VERY [name]FAVORITE[/name] name, and I love it SO much that I’ve named EVERYTHING [name]Celestia[/name]!”

My kids dont show much interest in names. My oldest is 5 and still names her bears ‘[name]Pinky[/name]’, ‘Bluey’ ect. (It depends what colour they are, haha!)

Last year, when she was 4, I brought one of my pet rats (Riversong) into the synagogue’s [name]Sunday[/name] school. She loved Riversong! - the rat AND the name. I happened to have a toy rat in my purse - a little rubber rat, not particularly cute or pretty - and I showed it to her. She said, "I have the perfect name for her…

In My [name]Little[/name] Pony: Friendship is [name]Magic[/name], the pony princess is named [name]Celestia[/name]. Also, there is a character named Twilight Sparkle, so if she likes that show, that would make perfect sense why her taste in names runs towards [name]Diamond[/name] Sparkle and Riversong.
[name]Elana[/name] reminds me of me when I was that age. I’d spend hours obsessing over what to name my character in Pokemon (and than what to nickname the Pokemon themselves). [name]Elana[/name] sounds very, very smart. What an adorable story.
