[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] and [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] are too close for brothers or am I just over thinking it? If you do think they are too similar, which do you prefer? I love [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] for the NNs [name_m]Cy[/name_m] and [name_m]Ian[/name_m]. I especially love [name_m]Cy[/name_m] for the connection to [name_m]Cy[/name_m] [name_m]Young[/name_m] and baseball. While [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] on the other hand gives the best image whenever I hear it. It has an [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] feel to me and whenever I say it, I can just smell [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] in the air, hear the crunching of leaves, feel the chilly breeze, taste carmel apples, roasted marshmallows, and Thanksgiving dinner. It just excites all my senses! It doesn’t really seem to have any NNs that I like. [name_u]Cris[/name_u] is ok but not my favorite. The meaning “curly-haired” also has a special connection to me. So which would you choose [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] or [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]?
If it helps the combos will most likely be [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] or [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] but could change.
I don’t like either but if i had to choose I would go with [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m]. [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] might grow on me but I will never like [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]. It just doesn’t sound like a name to me. Plus I would never want anyone to call me Crispy.
I wouldn’t use them as brother names - almost all the sounds are shared. Personally, I like [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] better; I pronounce it like sip-ree-an. But, since you seem to love [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] so much, maybe you should go with that. I saw that someone once suggested using [name_m]Pip[/name_m] as a nn for it. [name_m]Pip[/name_m] is traditionally linked to [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] and [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] by way of [name_m]Pippin[/name_m], but I think it works for [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] too.
I love both the names but they are much too close, especially for twins, keeping individual identity is important. Perhaps moving one of the names to the middle spot would be more ideal.
Neither appeals to me. [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] is weird but at least it’s literary/historical, but [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] I’ve never even heard of as a name. And unless you have roots in [name_m]Cyprus[/name_m] it especially doesn’t make sense. [name_m]Ciaran[/name_m] & [name_m]Charles[/name_m] are good C names. If you’re in love with [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m], consider [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] instead. It’s not my favorite but it’s at least a name with strength and dignity to it.
I wouldn’t use them as sibling names since they’re too close for my liking. I like [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] the best, and [name_m]Cyprian[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] is nice.
Maybe you would like [name_m]Silas[/name_m]? He has a similar feeling, in my opinion.
