Any thoughts on the name Dahvi(pronounced DAH-vee) for a girl? I absolutely love the pronunciation and the appearance of the name but my biggest drawbacks are that it’s too close to David and that it looks/sounds “made up.” I love two syllable names with h’s in them such as Davhi, Zahra, Lahna, etc. as well as the AH sound as in Ana.
Do you like the name Dahvi? Do you have any other suggestions of similar names?
i’m not really a fan - i think i would assume it was a made-up name to honor a David. i think that Zahra is a much prettier alternative!
I think it’s beautiful, and visually it looks different enough (and also sounds different enough) that I would never think of the name [name_m]David[/name_m]. If anything, I’d wonder if it was from another culture, like [name_f]Indian[/name_f], maybe, simply based on the arrangement of letters. But either way, I think it’s a beautiful name!
I think it’s beautiful! I personally wouldn’t make the connection to [name_m]David[/name_m], especially as visually it looks very different. [name_f]Zahra[/name_f] is beautiful as well.
Dahvi is intriguing - I really like the sounds
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there!
I think Dahvi is sweet and I like how it sounds. I think it looks a little ‘made up’ due to the ‘h’ but [name_u]Davi[/name_u] would lend itself to the pronunciation DAVE-ee, so I think Dahvi is the best option for the pronunciation that you want. I would assume that it came from [name_m]David[/name_m] or is to honour a [name_m]David[/name_m] but I don’t think it’s that close.

It’s okay in sound but I can’t think of anyone but Dahvie Vanity when I hear the name
I really like the sound. I won’t suggest other names because this is quite unique and lovely.
I think Dahvi is a lovely sound, and it works for a girl. It’s a familiar sound as [name_u]Davi[/name_u] is a diminutive for [name_m]David[/name_m] in some cultures.
I don’t dislike it… I prefer just [name_u]Davi[/name_u] though, which I would say the same way. I would go straight to [name_f]Davina[/name_f] nn [name_u]Davi[/name_u], which I think is really sweet. Then again, [name_u]Davi[/name_u] reminds me of the Portuguese form of [name_m]David[/name_m] (Davi, which, at least in [name_u]Brazil[/name_u], is dah-VEE), so it could be problematic if you come across someone from a Portuguese-speaking country.
If you want just Dahvi though, I don’t hate it… I just like [name_f]Davina[/name_f] nn [name_u]Davi[/name_u] more.
Good luck!
Oh, I knew I knew it from somewhere. Yeah, this is not a great association, although it’s maybe not super well-known.
I believe that this is an ethnic name? Either way, it’s lovely
