Does [name]Daisy[/name] work [name]IRL[/name]? I am really in love with the name but would it work well on an adult? Is it too childish or can on it really age well? What would you pair it with?
This was my Grandmother’s name, so, since I tend to associate it with adults, I think it ages well. I really love this name too.
[name]Daisy[/name] is an old nn for [name]Margaret[/name]; I think that’s a good way to get to [name]Daisy[/name].
Thank you both! I really cannot stand the name [name]Margaret[/name], sorry if that offends anyone, it just seems so old, crusty, and fussy to me. I like the idea of just [name]Daisy[/name] but I am not sure if it can stand alone.
My friend’s little sister’s name is [name]Daisy[/name] so I totally think it works in real life. I swoon every time he mentions her name but she’s only 5, so I think it’s super sweet on a little girl with blonde curls, but I’m not quite sure how I’d see it on an adult. I do like it, though, so I like to think it’d work fine on an adult. I mean, my mom has a friend whose mother is named [name]Daisy[/name]. She thinks it’s weird, but only because she had a dog named [name]Daisy[/name] growing up.
I also know a little girl name [name]Daisy[/name] and I think it is adorable. I can’t speak to how it ages because she is only around 7 but I love the name on her. Maybe pair it with a more classic, “solid” middle?
[name]Daisy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]?
I don’t know how [name]Daisy[/name] ages, but I love it. I was going to suggest the same thing as lc22033: give her a classic middle name that you know ages well, and if she wants to use it when she reaches adulthood, she has that option.
Thanks, I am glad to know that [name]Daisy[/name] is becoming a little more common and should work on an adult
I think [name]Daisy[/name] totally works [name]IRL[/name].
I adore [name]Daisy[/name]! I really think it can work in real life, as I know of a [name]Daisy[/name] in her early twenties who has totally made the name her own.
I actually know two adult women named [name]Daisy[/name] (I think they’re mother and daughter, actually, lol), so I can see someone with the name–it just doesn’t really seem to fit, though. [name]Daisy[/name] is cutesy to me, and also happened to be the name of a dog I knew, so I still can’t really see it on an adult, even though I know of two and know one of them personally (who is absolutely fabulous, btw). Didn’t you used to love [name]Adelaide[/name]? I think [name]Adelaide[/name] nn [name]Daisy[/name] could work, too.
I love [name]Daisy[/name] but I agree that it doesn’t age that well. [name]How[/name] about using it as a nickname for [name]Margaret[/name].
I am currently smitten with this name and am considering it for our baby girl due in [name]May[/name]. I have the exact same concerns- it is such a light and fresh name for a little girl, but I was trying to imagine going for a job interview as a [name]Daisy[/name]. For that reason, I do think it needs to be “anchored” by a more proper name.
I kinda love it though.
Here are some combos I’m considering:
[name]Daisy[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Katharine[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Reed[/name] ([name]Daisy[/name])
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Daisy[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Daisy[/name] is a little bit too childish for my tastes but I think it can work.
I thought that [name]Maisie[/name] / [name]Maisy[/name] was a nickname for [name]Margaret[/name]? Isn’t [name]Daisy[/name] just from the flower?
Anyway, I know two Daisys - one is in her twenties and the other one is in my class (so, in her teens). Technically [name]Daisy[/name] can work on an adult, but somehow to me it still sounds like either a toddler’s name or a generous grandmother’s name.
It seems too cute to me, and [name]Jamie[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] used it: [name]Daisy[/name] Boo - ugh! All his children have such ridiculous names!
I also know someone with a dog named [name]Daisy[/name]. I do like vintage names, and most flower names, but this is one I can’t get on board with.
[name]Daisy[/name] is very cute but I don’t think of it as a stand alone name. I see it as one of those nicknames that have nothing to do with the person’s real name- [name]Daisy[/name], [name]Honey[/name], [name]Birdie[/name], [name]Sunny[/name], [name]Sissy[/name]
I have a 2yr old named [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Hannah[/name] who we call Daze most of the time. We have had nothing but compliments about her name. I work with a [name]Bonnie[/name] and a [name]Dolly[/name] who are in their 20s - I’m assuming that those are their full names as have never heard any different. They have not had any problems with getting jobs, are successful, outgoing women. I wouldn’t worry about it, [name]Daisy[/name] is a great name with minimal teasing potential. If you love it then use it! [name]Val[/name] x
I love [name]Daisy[/name], and I wouldn’t worry about it seeming childish. It’s an old name, so there have been plenty of adult, middle-aged, and elderly women named [name]Daisy[/name] who carried it just fine.
[name]Daisy[/name] is fairly popular where I live. I know several adult Daisys, and I think it works fine! It’s pretty
